Roxy, an inspirational Miniature Pinscher for adoption.

Image
At the time of rescue Roxy was missing her front right leg and her left eye was so severely infected that it could not be saved.  But Roxy's loving spirit keeps her focused on the present and she is happy to be alive and full of devotion.  Cuddle with Roxy while you read a book or watch a movie and she is in heaven.  Roxy is a Miniature Pinscher, spayed girl, about 4 years of age, housetrained, good with cats & dogs & older kids, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Roxy needed us when her previous owners divorced.

I need a new brother (or sister).

Update: Gus was adopted on January 17th! When his previous owners divorced, Gus lost everyone he loved, including his canine brother. He is a social, rustic boy who adores other dogs and another dog (or two) in a new home will go far toward mending his broken heart. Gus is a distinguished Dachshund mix, neutered, approximately 9 years of age, debuting for adoption today. He is reportedly housetrained and fine with mature, kind children. We cannot emphasize enough the emotional rewards of adopting seniors and welcoming their unconditional love into your life.  Please give Gus consideration.

Will anyone love an old boy like me?

Update: Fred was adopted on December 13th! Fred is confused and distraught over losing his home when his previous owners divorced. But he is a sweet, gentle boy and we are doing all we can to ease his despair and give him hope. Fred is a senior, about 9 or 10 years of age, a medium-size Shepherd mix, neutered male, debuting for adoption today. He is compatible with cats and kind children.  He is also reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door). Strange men make him nervous, as do boisterous or intense dogs reportedly due to previous dog attacks that terrorized him. Fred needs someone who understands and empathizes with what he is going through.  With patience, he will come to realize that a good life can begin anew.

I am ready to bring more color and sunshine into your life. Please adopt me.

Update: Hannah was adopted on November 26th! Hannah is a cheery, joyful little wiggleworm, beaming with enthusiasm. She is a pretty Cocker Spaniel, spayed female, about 7 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. Hannah needed us when her previous owners divorced.  Besides being compatible with other dogs, she is reportedly good with kind children. She is reportedly housetrained, but with a litter box, so she may need your patience and guidance to learn to use the backyard and/or walks. Please budget extra for regular professional grooming care for Hannah .  This varies with each dog, but a good rule of thumb is planning on at least quarterly grooming.

I was caught in the middle of a failed marriage.

Update: Woody was adopted on November 17th! Woody needed us when his previous owners divorced.  He still seems a bit shell-shocked about losing his home, unable to understand perhaps that humans do not always have unconditional love, unlike dogs. He is ready to bounce back though in a new loving home.  He delights in playing with tennis balls and cuddling up with kind people. Woody is an especially handsome Longhair Dachshund with warm eyes.  He is neutered, approximately 7 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. He is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained.  He is also compatible with other friendly dogs. Dachshund knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption.

My wrinkles enhance my smiles.

Update: Vinnie was adopted on October 11th! Vinnie is a youngster with unique good looks.  He is reportedly a cross between an English Bulldog and a Boxer. He's beautiful on the inside too, devoted and sweet.  Perhaps strong-willed and moody on occasion, so an experienced owner is the best fit for him. Vinnie reportedly enjoys other dogs and is compatible with cats and older children.  (Young kids though reportedly make him nervous.) He is neutered, 2 years of age, and debuting for adoption today.  Vinnie needed us when his previous owners divorced and he ended up with neither of them.

I am a cheerful boy who will thrive with your love and good guidance.

Update: Chance was adopted on May 26th! Eager to please, Chance is likely to quickly learn new behaviors and adapt well with positive instruction and patience from you. His bright smile is heart-warming . Chance is a buff Cocker Spaniel, neutered male, approximately 4 years of age, debuting for adoption today. He is good with other dogs, needs regular grooming care, and he is reportedly housetrained. Chance needed us because his previous owners were divorcing. Fine with older, kind teenagers, he may be anxious around young children due to an earlier incident that involved pulling on him. Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Chance by name. He is ready to shower you with lots of attention in exchange for a lifetime commitment into a forever home.

If you seek a loyal, devoted, and handsome boy, then you need to come meet me.

This feature does not have enough room for us to list all of the amazing qualities of this gorgeous girl. Rio is an intelligent, cheerful, bright, friendly, and chatty Australian Cattle Dog mix. She is spayed, about 8 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She needed us upon the break-up of her previous family's home. Like so many cases of divorce, the companion animals end up losing both parents. Rio enjoys kind children and she is compatible with most sweet dogs too. Though crate-trained, she will need your patience and guidance to complete housetraining, and otherwise adjust to living predominantly indoors as an adored member of the family. (Her previous owners forced her to live solely outdoors, which is unacceptable on multiple levels.) Please visit and ask for sunny, magnificent Rio by name.

The divorce left me with nobody.

Please plan on professional grooming care for Ivan at least four times a year, budgeting accordingly. He needed us when a divorce cost him both owners.

Divorce shattered our family, so Moe is all I have left.

Update: Caesar was adopted on November 8th! Caesar (pictured here) gets anxious if Moe , his soul-mate, and possibly his father, leaves his sight. Upon reuniting, Caesar will leap for joy, even if only separated a mere few minutes. The boys lost their home due to a divorce. They are very strongly bonded and need to remain together forever. Moe is a Pekingese, about 4 years of age. Caesar is a Pekingese and Terrier mix, 2 years of age. Both are neutered and debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Caesar & Moe are very ready for a new family. Besides being good with other dogs their size, they are compatible with cats and older children too. Both are reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) & crate-trained, however, Caesar may 'mark' furniture if left alone too long. Caesar & Moe love playing with stuffed animals. Please plan on regular grooming care for the boys and plan accordingly.

I miss playing with the children.
