Buffy

Image
"Please protect me from ever experiencing violence again." Buffy glows with hope when you tell her she's safe. Her anxiety melts away and her eyes glisten. She so desperately wants peace-of-mind and someone special to love. Buffy is a gorgeous Australian Shepherd mix, 1 year young and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    She was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity and extensive scarring from traumas to her face, neck, legs, and body. (Some of her scars are consistent with animal attacks, while others appear to be long cutting marks.)

Charm

Image
Charm loves melting hearts and smiles ever bigger as he realizes you are pleased with him.  He is a chocolate & white boy with bright copper eyes, a unique blend of Queensland Heeler & Retriever, 4 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Charm needed us when the shelter he was at ran out of space.  Please come meet and consider him.

Fender

Image
Fender's favorite things include sitting in laps, napping in the sun, and playing fetch with his toys.  He is an earnest, lovable youngster, a Chihuahua with a pronounced underbite, 3 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Fender is good with dogs and older kids and housetrained & crate-trained.

Rascal

Image
Rascal is in intelligent young boy with a no-nonsense personality, but when you bring him catnip he frolics like he's a young kitten again.  Rascal is a very attractive orange tabby & white with copper eyes, 1 year of age and neutered, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . He needed us due to his previous owners' financial hardship.

Gavin

Image
Gavin ("white hawk") is lifting his head from the floor, building confidence, and becoming hopeful.  He is a very attractive Cairn Terrier mix, 2 years young, neutered boy, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Gavin was at another shelter that asked for our help. He was trembling and hanging his head in despair.  Gavin is recovering from abuse in a previous home. He is ready to bloom once he feels safe and secure.

Posie

Image
Posie was running in abandoned lots for weeks, possibly months, trying to survive on her own, before a volunteer finally captured her. She is letting us touch her and pick her up, but she is still worried about people.    When we go to Posie's kennel, she tries to hide behind another dog, her kennel-mate, hoping we don't notice her. Posie is now spayed and ready for a hero adoption at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org). A home with a sister or brother dog for guidance is ideal. She would love to be another dog's little sister. Posie is a medium-size Heinz 57, a beautiful blend of Retriever & Shepherd & more breeds and approximately 5 years of age.

Rachel

Image
Rachel coos and cries when she eats. She is so grateful for every bite. At the time of rescue she was emaciated from starvation. She was found running in the middle of a major Vegas boulevard (Jones), perhaps as a last resort to get help. Rachel needed veterinary care, but fortunately her organs had not begun to shut down. Rachel continues building energy and hope. She is a petite Chihuahua, friendly and loving, 4 years of age, spayed, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Miles

Image
Miles is so eager to begin his new life. When his cast is removed we expect he'll be running, jumping, and dancing for hours!    Miles is a small, young Border Terrier mix, 1 year of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.   He is great with other dogs and we believe he has the temperament to be exceptional with kids. We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help. His hind left leg was broken from a massive trauma (cause unknown, but consistent with being hit by a vehicle).    Miles is healing well and his cast can be removed soon.

Sweetheart

Image
We are entranced by Sweetheart's dimples!    But even more charming is the way she crawls into your arms for hugs. Sweetheart doesn't have much self-esteem yet, so we carry her to the courtyard and rooms. She stays low to the ground hoping no one will see her. But when she knows you are kind and you kneel down and call her name, she will race to you. Sweetheart is a medium-size (30 pounds) Heinz 57 with Corgi & Heeler, 1 year of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued her from another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity.

Peaches

Image
Peaches is a loyal young girl who wants to devote herself to someone forever.    She is smart and alert and her copper eyes always appear thoughtful.    Peaches does not instantly warm to strangers, but instead builds ever-growing bonds with people with time and familiarity. She is a beautiful, medium-size blend of Sporting breeds, including Heeler, almost 2 years of age, spayed, housetrained & crate-trained, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    Peaches prefers being the only dog in the home and may be too energetic for very young children.

Copper

Image
Copper's eyes, fearful when assessing new people, can break your heart with the pain they reveal. He is hand-shy and head-shy, along with other indicators of cruel treatment.    Copper , though, is full of tremendous loving potential. Around people he knows and trusts, his posture improves and he walks closely at their side. Copper is an exceptionally attractive youngster, a blend of many breeds, 1 year of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help.    We hope you will share his picture to help him find a lifelong hero who can prove to him that people are capable of incredible kindness and compassion.

Ferdinand's remarkable progress!

Image
Ferdinand now approaches you gently and put his paws on your knee asking for affection.  For the past 6 weeks volunteers and staff have done beautifully proving to him that humans can be kind and worthy of trust, helping him triumph over severe abuse.  He's come so far that he is now ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Ferdinand is a Terrier mix with extraordinary good looks that include a leonine mane and copper eyes, and he is 5 years of age, neutered, and good with other friendly dogs.  Please help Ferdinand find a gentle, forever home where his emotional healing will continue so he can reach his full loving potential.

Grady, a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier who deserves a fresh start.

Image
Grady is this noble and eminent boy's new name to help give him a fresh start.  Grady is a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier with wonderful charisma, about 9 years of age, neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  His previous owners acted despicably, reportedly dropping him off at a veterinary clinic for boarding, then never reclaiming him.  When the clinic reached his owners they reportedly said they were never going to reclaim him and that the clinic could "just kill him".  Fortunately, instead of killing him, the clinic called Nevada SPCA.  Please help us find Grady the best, brightest home where he will be cherished.

I spent years of my precious life on a chain.

Image
Jellybean is an exceptionally sweet boy with a colorful personality and he is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is a handsome Border Terrier mix with copper eyes, about 7 years of age, neutered, and compatible with dogs and mature children.  At the time of rescue he was living outdoors, 24/7, on a chain, which is recklessly dangerous and cruel.  Jellybean now has a chance to find a loving, forever home where he will be welcomed indoors as a cherished member of the family.
