Update on The Majestic Brothers

Image
MacBeth Mr. Samuel The four Majestic Brothers are improving every day, with the two pictured here -- MacBeth and Mr. Samuel -- making the most progress so far.    Instead of hiding in corners of the courtyard, they now walk on leash, flinch less when they are touched, and sit beside people with more ease. Also, doorways and shadows are still a concern for them, but a bit less scary. The boys are large Heinz 57s with Retriever & Shepherd, neutered, good with other large dogs, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.    A wonderful dog trainer is giving complimentary dog training sessions to the people who adopt them. You may recall the Majestic Brothers were confiscated from a breeder who was convicted of animal cruelty. They were unsocialized and terribly confused when people paid attention to them. More details on the brothers here .

Rhett

Image
Rhett has decided that people can be wonderful and worth meeting and bonding with. Thanks to dedicated volunteers and staff, his progress these past weeks has been remarkable, and he is eager to love and begin his new life in a forever home.   Rhett is one of the 33 dogs confiscated from squalor and horrors on March 1. He is a medium-size Heinz 57 (all 33 are blends of Whippet, Weimaraner, Beagle, and Bully), 6 years of age and neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. 2-minute video featuring Rhett and the other 32 rescued dogs . [Note: Rhett has a birth defect that requires a simple, quick, and very inexpensive daily ointment on his penis.]

Knight

Image
Knight is steadily building courage and self-esteem, and he's on his way toward reaching his loving potential.  Of the 33 dogs confiscated from squalor and horrors, he was in the most emotional distress and panicked whenever he was the focus of attention. Knight has now begun crawling in our laps, walking short distances on leash, and accepting care and kindness without freezing in fear. He is 3 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please help find a hero with dog behavior and training skills who can guide him to continued improvement toward becoming a well-adjusted boy. More details on the 33 rescued dogs .

Fredrick, Harris, Jeremiah, Nathan, and Santino

Fredrick Harris Jeremiah Nathan Santino Fredrick , Harris , Jeremiah , Nathan , and Santino are ready for special needs adoptions at Nevada. SPCA. They are 5 more of the 33 rescued dogs who have progressed to the point where they are ready for heroes to help them continue reaching their full loving potential. Each is gentle and soaks up reassurance with gratitude. The boys are 3-4 years of age and neutered.  Some or all may be compatible with larger dogs, but because of the horrors they witnessed (their previous owner was convicted of animal cruelty), they must never be around small animals. Some of the 33 dogs have already been adopted. Their new parents have been reporting the joy in watching them bloom. Please share to help find heroes. More details on the 33 dogs .

Bonnie Blue Belle, Jade, Opal, Phoebe, Piper

Image
Bonnie Blue Belle Jade Opal Phoebe Piper We are inspired by the progress of these five girls!   Bonnie Blue Belle , Jade , Opal , Phoebe , and Piper debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. They are 5 more of the 33 dogs confiscated from squalor and horrors. The girls are beginning to walk on leash, wag their tails when they greet us, step into our laps for cuddling, and exhibit other ways of accepting compassion.    All are gentle and blooming. Nevertheless, very experienced heroes are needed to adopt them because they have never experienced a loving home before and will need time and patience to adjust. The girls are 3 and 4 years of age and now spayed. They are medium in size, ranging from 20-33 pounds, blends of Whippet, Beagle, Mini Bully, and more. More details on the 33 rescued dogs .

More of Winnie's siblings and cousins will be ready too in the days and weeks to come, based on their emotional healing and improvements, and spay/neuter surgeries and recoveries. Winnie is sweet to hear that you are happy with her. She'll kiss you if you tell her she is wonderful and improving beautifully!    Winnie is medium-size (25 pounds), 5 years of age and spayed, a blend of Whippet, Beagle & Mini Bully, and good with dogs her size and larger. Please help find a hero for Winnie . She needs to only see the best of human nature from now on. More details about what the 33 dogs endured .

Ariel Ariel Aubree Aubree Ariel and Aubree , the 4th and 5th of the 33 rescued dogs, are among the smallest at just 25 lbs and 27 lbs. Both are adjusting and improving nicely and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Their dozens of siblings and cousins will be ready in the days and weeks to come based on their emotional progress and spay/neuter surgeries. As you may recall, the 33 dogs were confiscated from squalor and witnessed horrors. Their previous owner was convicted of animal cruelty. Here is the original post about them with more detail. Ariel and Aubree both love treats! We are glad that they have such hearty appetites. They were frightened of us at first, but they now allow us to handle and cuddle them without fear of panic attacks. They are medium-size Heinz 57 mixes with Whippet, Beagle, Mini Bully, and more breeds, 3 years of age and now spayed. Both girls need heroes and get along fine with other dogs (th...
