Trudy , an adventurous baby girl, enjoys pouncing on her mouse toys and playing hide & seek with people and cats.    She is a tuxedo kitten, 3 months of age and spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .    Trudy has been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home since her rescue from homelessness.

Zane grins proudly and lifts up his chin when you tell him he's such a wonderful boy!  He treasures peaceful moments at your side and your approval means the world to him.  Zane is a Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund), 8 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  He needed us because his previous owners' other dog kept attacking him.  Please share Zane's pictures to help him find a gentle forever home.

Glory kisses the cheeks of women who are very kind and gentle with her.    She is a Yorkshire Terrier mix, 4 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . We rescued Glory from another shelter where she was trembling. She is terrified of men and sometimes hides her face in their presence hoping they don't notice her. We do not know what Glory has endured.    She wants to believe in people and responds beautifully to soft, reassuring voices.

Sister Fallon Sister (nicknamed "Sissy") earned her name because she likes grooming other rescued "kits" (baby bunnies). She was rescued Sunday by children who noticed that she was being chased by a dog. Sister is just a few weeks of age and thriving in a loving foster home. We are in overdrive preparing for an estimated 5,000 motherless newborns and homeless pregnant animals this spring and summer, based on escalating trends from the past six years. So we are enormously grateful to the donors (Tina Walls, Leslie Hollmann, and anonymous donors) who are matching/doubling all online donations to Nevada SPCA through March 23! Wyatt , just 8 weeks of age, needs a foster home please for approximately 4-6 weeks. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Wayne. Wyatt was just surrendered because of his previous owner's family troubles. He is a Maltese & Shih-Tzu mix, shy and gentle. A calm, nurturing home environment is ideal for his socialization and continuing development.

Tara and Anya are so relieved to be safe and to have food and shelter.    A woman was reportedly startled that they ran up to her pleading for help when she walked by a bush. (The girls were presumably abandoned outdoors, but being domesticated they could not survive on their own, resulting in them running to her to get care and protection.) Tara and Anya are friendly hooded rats, about 1 year of age, and ready for adoption today in the Lovebugs Room at Nevada SPCA. They are intelligent, wonderful beings who delight in finding treats and toys hidden in their habitats.

Sebastian and 10 other Land Crabs were caught at the airport by TSA on a man attempting to smuggle them onto a plane in his carry-on. The man had reportedly stuffed them into a bag with their claws banded shut. Four of them died from their injuries. (Authorities confiscated the crabs and we hope efforts continue to bring the man to justice.) Sebastian and the six other survivors are now at Nevada SPCA and needing homes where they will be respected, safe, and comfortable. We suspect they were being smuggled for food or breeding, so this is the first time they are being handled with compassion. The crabs are not used to human touch, but they are not attempting to harm us. Please help find caring homes for them by sharing Sebastian's post. Thank you.

Maggie Mae, 12, a gentle soul, asks for kindness and compassion.  She is a blond & cream Chihuahua mix, spayed girl, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Maggie Mae from another shelter that asked for our help.  There are rich emotional rewards that come with welcoming seniors and special needs animals into your life.

Papa , 12, pleads for dignity, respect, and compassion for his final years.  He is a gentle older boy, a small Terrier mix, neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Papa has diminished hearing and vision, so thorough safety precautions throughout your home and yard are essential.  Please help find Papa a hero.

Joy Ann is a mellow Shih-Tzu, 12 years of age, who we rescued from another shelter.  We have no information on how she became homeless so late in life.  She needs a hero for her twilight years. Joy Ann has a gentle spirit and walks slowly.  A relaxed lifestyle is essential.  She has a low-grade heart murmur, but medication is not needed at this time.  Joy Ann enjoys other calm dogs and she is extremely grateful for every act of kindness and compassion.
