Snow White , just 8 months of age, is getting ready to bloom and beginning to build some confidence. She is still exceptionally timid and leashes terrify her. We suspect she was in a loveless home with scant care and attention. Snow White is a White Shepherd mix junior puppy, spayed girl, debuting for a hero adoption today at Nevada SPCA . We believe she will adjust best in a home with a big sister or brother dog who can give her guidance. Snow White was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity. Kansas , 11, worries that nobody will want his love. We reassure him that he's a wonderful treasure and he relaxes and joins us for walks and petting. Kansas is kind with people and dogs. He is a Labrador Retriever mix, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He needs to continue building self-esteem and confidence. Kansas is 1 of 33 animals Nevada SPCA has rescued so far from a collapsed animal organization in northern Arizona. His background is otherwise unknown.

Misty , 2, is confused by what people expect of her.  She yearns for someone gentle who won't demand her to act contrary to her nature. Misty's previous owners were reportedly trying to make her "a guard dog". We don't know what this petite, slender, 12-pound girl endured.    Misty is a Longhair Chihuahua & Toy mix, good with other dogs, housetrained & crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued her from another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity and sadness.

Sheena is an adorable baby girl desperate for peace-of-mind.    She was found this spring, abandoned in a park, terrified, and she tried to refuse care. We placed Sheena in a loving foster home and she has made some progress with confidence and self-esteem, though she remains timid.    A very gentle home and owner is needed to help her continue improving and reaching her full potential. Sheena is a Chihuahua puppy, 3 months of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    We believe she will adjust best in a home with a big sister or brother dog for guidance.

Bay, just 8 months of age, worries that people don't like her.  We are working on helping her build self-esteem so she will understand she is worthy of love.  Bay is a junior puppy, medium-size Heinz 57 with Beagle & Mini Bully, spayed girl, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued Bay from another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity.

Juliette feels unworthy of love and doesn't yet know she is safe. She is beginning to lift her head when we talk sweetly to her. At the time of her rescue from another shelter she was holding her head down hoping no one would notice her. Juliette is a docile Cocker Spaniel, 5 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please praise her every day and help her understand that she is a treasure and worthy of immense, lifelong love.

Duncan worries that people disapprove of him.    Once reassured that you are pleased with him, he begins to calm and sit closer to you.    It's heartbreaking he has such little self-esteem at 7 years of age, but it's certainly not too late for him to come to realize that he is magnificent and worthy of love. Winslow , a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix junior puppy, was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity.  He has very little self-esteem and dreads people handling him.  But our experience is that Winslow yearns to be comforted and he will reach his full loving potential once he is in a very experienced and stable home.  Winslow is 7 months of age, neutered, good with dogs (but he cannot be around cats), and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

Giorgio wants to know what he can do to make you happy with him. He is tender-hearted and confused about how he is supposed to fit in. Giorgio is a Yorkshire Terrier mix, petite (just 7 pounds), 4 years of age and neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    He is great with other dogs and we believe he will adjust best in a home with a big sister or brother dog.    We rescued Giorgio from another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity.

Butters , a lovable junior puppy, always seems to have a twinkle in his eye. It may be due to the small blue sunburst at the inside corner of the bottom of his right eye. Butters is bashful and sweet, a Toy & Terrier mix, 9 months of age, neutered boy, crate-trained, and good with other dogs.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.    (His previous owners were elderly and may have been in some danger of being knocked down when he jumped on them to greet them.)    Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Butters by name.

Gabriel is a little angel who needs to continue building self-esteem.  Like many victims of extreme neglect, he felt worthless.  Gabriel is a Maltese, 1 year of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is shy with people and more confident when around other dogs.  Special thanks to Hair of the Dog Spa for his grooming transformation.

Smokey is blooming with new confidence and self-assurance, thanks to the dedication of volunteers and staff bonding with him.  These new portraits of Smokey are in celebration of his progress and to help him find a wonderful, forever home, and they are courtesy of Pet'ographique . Smokey is a young Shepherd mix, 1 year of age and neutered, housetrained, and good with other dogs.  He is still very shy with strangers, but warms as he realizes their kindness rather than intentions to hurt him.  Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Smokey by name.

Gloria Grace Wallace Wendell Gloria , Grace , Wallace , and Wendell are four innocent, bashful babies with enormous loving potential and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are attractive Manchester Terrier mix puppies, about 6 months of age, spayed/neutered, and expected to grow to 15-20 pounds.  Gloria and Grace are girls, and Wallace and Wendell are boys.  They were at another shelter that asked for our help because they were cowering in their kennel.  All four are improving and responding well to kindness from volunteers and staff, though Wallace remains particularly timid.  A big sister or brother dog for each of them may be ideal to help them adjust and continue building self-esteem.  Please also puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.

Royalty was in a home where she was caged day and night, and it's unclear whether she ever spent any significant time out of the cage.  When we first gave her the freedom of the patio and play-yard, she was terrified.  But Royalty has adjusted to the additional space allowed by her kennel and time with volunteers, and she's building more self-assurance every day.  She is a gentle Yorkshire Terrier mix, 2 years young, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Royalty is enjoying the company of other dogs and we strongly prefer adopting her to a home with another dog (or dogs) to help her continue adjusting and becoming well-balanced.

Kai was still too shy to look directly at the camera this morning.  But we are proud of the progress this sensitive boy is making with trust and confidence, thanks to tender care and attention from volunteers and staff.  Kai is a good-looking Lab-Pointer, 4 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He was found abandoned near one of the busiest, most perilous intersections in Las Vegas with no sign of responsible ownership.  It's clear Kai came from a loveless home, perhaps even a violent one.  Please help us find Kai a serene home environment where he can realize his full loving potential.

Trixie is a sweetheart junior puppy rescued by a kind woman who saw her almost get hit by a car in the middle of a busy Vegas street.  Trixie had no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not spayed).  She is a gorgeous Shepherd mix puppy, about 9 months of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Trixie loves kind people and she is building a bit more confidence each day.  A gentle, experienced home is ideal for her, perhaps with a big brother dog or big sister dog to help her adjust.

We look forward to the day when Cindy holds her head high with confidence and peace-of-mind.  But she doesn't yet know she is safe, though we suspect she is beginning to understand we will never hurt her.  Cindy is an exceptionally shy and gentle Heeler mix (Australian Cattle Dog mix), about 4 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is terrific with other dogs, so a big brother or big sister dog would help her adjust.  At the time of rescue Cindy was found on the Vegas streets with no self-esteem and no sign whatsoever of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not spayed).  Please help us find Cindy a hero.
