L'il Bit Blue Chewy Downs L'il Bit and her three brothers -- Blue , Chewy , and Downs -- are adorable babies raised and socialized in a wonderful foster home since their rescue.    They are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . The babies like cuddling with each other, people, and stuffed animal toys.    Their parents are unknown, but they care believed to be Chi-Weenie & Toy mixes, most likely to remain small in size.    Please consider adopting a pair for lifetime companionship and love.

Blue , a sporty junior puppy, 11 months of age, wants to know where he belongs and who he can love.  He is reportedly a blend of Boston Terrier & Mini Bully, a neutered boy, housetrained & crate-trained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Blue needed us when his previous family moved away without him.  He requires an experienced home because he gets anxious about being picked up and held.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety.

Blue , a handsome and friendly youngster, asks for your consideration.  He is a Boxer with heterochromia (brown eye and blue eye), 1 year of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Blue is good with kids and likes other dogs (as long as they don't jump on him). He is housetrained too.  Blue needed us due to his previous owner's personal hardships.  Please visit and ask for him by name.

Blue gently puts his paw on your leg to let you know he needs to go outside.  He is housetrained & crate-trained and compatible with cats and dogs.  Blue is at least 3/4 Chinese Crested (hairless except for his face, tail, and legs), 8 years of age, a neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is shy with new people and needs plenty of time to warm up.  Blue needed us when his previous owners moved away without him.

Blue/Tulip, 2015 Blue/Tulip, 2015 Blue, 2011 Blue , now named "Tulip" , is 15 years of age and dearly loved.  Some of you may remember her from years ago (2011) when rescued from abuse and neglect.  Her mom, Jamie, says she is very spunky and loves attention and her family pack.  Jamie says Tulip has been "an amazing gift" to her family. We are elated! with the update on Blue , who was adopted almost two years ago, and want to share it with you (and many of you may remember her). She is a Chow Chow, now 14 years of age.  Her mom, Jamie, says Blue loves mothering and nurturing the small dogs in their family.  (She is pictured here with one of her siblings.) Blue no longer fears people and keeps an upbeat spirit every day.  Back in 2011, at the time of her rescue, she was untouchable for many weeks, so abused and neglected that she wanted nothing to do with humans. It's never too late to decide to love people.  For Blue , this remarkable breakthrough comes at 12 years of age, following a life previously full of despair and neglect.  She now loves going for walks and she is beginning to trust people.  Volunteers and staff have been working with her for many months because at the time of rescue she was very grumpy and intolerant of people.  Blue is a Chow Chow, spayed, and she is great with most dogs.  Please help us find a hero to adopt or foster her so she continues blooming.

Update: Baxter was adopted on February 10th! Baxter is a bright-eyed youngster who is all about having fun, perhaps with a bit of mischief, and he sports a sparkling personality. He is a blue & tan Chihuahua mix with a white lightning bolt, neutered boy, about 2 years young. We rescued Baxter from a government-funded shelter, so his background is mostly a mystery.  But we know he loves playtime and he is compatible with other friendly dogs. Update: Xica was adopted on December 4th! This well-behaved, endearing girl reminds us of Baloo, the heroic blue bear featured in Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book". Xica has a Teddy Bear-like personality.  She is engaging and chatty, full of enthusiasm and joy. She is a Shepherd mix with distinguished blue coloring.  She is spayed, about 4 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Like Elgin, Xica is one of the eight dogs we rescued on Thanksgiving Eve from a government shelter.  She was reportedly surrendered there when her previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. Besides being good with dogs, Xica reportedly is housetrained and enjoys children.

Update: Blue was adopted on July 17th! Stunningly handsome, Blue has startlingly rich coloring and an athletic physique, and his loving nature is readily apparent from his facial expressions. Blue is a German Shorthair Pointer, neutered male, approximately 3 years young. Blue needed us because of his previous owners' financial hardship. A well-behaved boy, he enjoys playing ball and he is reportedly housetrained and good with children of all ages. Breed knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption.

Update: Sinatra was adopted on October 8th! Sinatra's deep blue eyes are very noticeable. He is beautiful on the inside too, gentle and unassuming. He is a "kit" (baby rabbit), perhaps an American & Dutch mix, neutered male, about 6 months of age. We believe he will grow to medium/standard size. Like most bunnies, Sinatra feels most at ease on the floor. Being picked up makes him anxious, plus he is still very young and getting used to human touch. His previous owners surrendered him because "he does not like being held." The truth though is that Sinatra is an affectionate boy. He enjoys being petted and spending quiet time with you. Sinatra is also very enthusiastic for his daily greens. He is one of almost 70 spayed/neutered, rescued bunnies for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Each need, deserve, and require indoor homes where they can safely be members of the family.

Update: Sinbad was adopted on December 18th! Sinbad is a very handsome, devoted boy. He is a Blue Doberman Pinscher, neutered male, just under 3 years of age. He debuts for adoption today. Sinbad is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and compatible with both cats and dogs. He requires an adult-only home though for two reasons. First, he has reportedly never been around children. And second, he reportedly play-bites when excited, so we must err on the safe side for dog bite prevention and insist on adults only in his new home. Blue Dobies need attention to their skin care and coat, including caution with sun exposure to prevent burning . Doberman Pinscher experience is strongly preferred for his adoption. Sinbad needed us due to his owner losing the family home to foreclosure.

Update: Roxy was adopted on November 6th! Roxy is a precious little jumping bean with a fun-loving personality. She is a Rat Terrier with gorgeous and very striking blue, cream, & white coloring. She is spayed and approximately 5 years of age. Roxy is good with other dogs and she debuts for adoption today. Roxy was found on the streets and taken to a local veterinary clinic for safe refuge. Her previous owners were contacted, from the registration of her microchip ID, but then they failed to ever show up to reclaim her. We made room for her here at Nevada SPCA. As with all of our rescued animals, we will work to find her a committed home where she will always be cherished, never to be cast aside again.

Update: Big Blue was adopted on November 27th! Big Blue is like a teddy bear which has come to life. He's gentle, friendly, unassuming, and loyal. This huge, lovable boy is so well-behaved he will make a wonderful fit into most family situations. You can trust him around kind children, and he is housetrained, plus he is good with other dogs. Big Blue is most likely a Labrador Retriever and Siberian Husky mix. He has the most beautiful eyes, one warm and brown, the other cool and blue. He is a neutered male, approximately 8 years of age. We rescued him from another shelter. If you are seeking an affectionate, cheerful dog for your family, please trust us that it would be a giant mistake to overlook this exceptional boy! Please come visit with Big Blue in our courtyard today. Addendum: Big Blue was adopted, but returned due to being aggressive with cats.

Update: Ernie, Tessa, and Todo were all adopted on or before May 27th! Tessa, and her brothers Ernie and Todo (on each side of her), are "The Blue Bully Puppies" and they are full of personality. They are as comical as they are precious, and as zany as they are adorable. They are also survivors. As newborns, they were in a home but contracted the deadly parvo virus. Their owner refused emergency medical care. We rescued them, but they were extremely ill, and some of their brothers and sisters perished. After extensive medical care, these three made a full recovery. Today, they debut in Adoptions at Nevada SPCA. They are approximately 3 months of age. They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong companionship. They have been through so much already, so remaining together will provide them additional love and comfort, and may help them adapt to a new home that much easier.
