Delight

Image
Delight , the gentlest angel, needs a hero! Please share her pictures to help. This starving junior puppy was rescued yesterday (Sunday). She has a birth defect with her esophagus (megaesophagus), which is enlarged and does not push food through to her stomach. Delight needs small meals every 3 hours and her head held upright for 10 minutes afterward.    Please visit Nevada SPCA in person if you can foster Delight. Delight is a Labrador Retriever mix, about 10 months of age. She is extremely grateful for every act of kindness.    Delight ate well after her rescue and held her food down. The foster commitment would ideally be for several weeks to help her regain body mass, energy, and other good health, as well as a proper and steady routine to build on for her future.

Remington

Image
Remington , 11, a tiny and gentle soul, loves when people fuss and dote on him and ask him how he feels. Hold him in your arms and he feels like a king. Remington is a Chihuahua and he is neutered, great with other dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Remington was found abandoned on the streets in poor condition without sign of responsible ownership. He can only walk short distances due to birth defects with his back legs. We had dental care provided for him (half of his teeth were decayed and had to be extracted).   Please help find a hero for Remington .

Snowball and Spunk

Image
Snowball Spunky Snowball and Spunky , rescued junior kittens, play and frolic gleefully without any concern about their front legs.    The baby boys were born with deformed front legs, which they have learned to use in their unique way, and their veterinarians recommend that they keep their legs and simply be accepted for being one-of-a-kind since they are not suffering. The boys have been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home since their rescue.    They are now 5 months of age, neutered, and ready to be adopted by a lifelong hero at Nevada SPCA .

Twinkle

Image
Twinkle loves to be in gentle arms, hearing words of praise and reassurance. She is a young Chihuahua & Italian Greyhound mix, 3 years of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Twinkle is blind in both eyes (birth defects), so please very thorough safety precautions for her throughout your home and yard. She needed us when her previous owner moved into a home with someone allergic to dogs.

Dahlia and 15 more rescued motherless kittens.

Image
Dahlia and 15 more motherless kittens need nurturing foster homes. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. Dahlia , about 5 weeks of age, was just rescued, found alone outdoors without her mom. She has birth defects on her hind legs, which limit her ability to walk. We are very hopeful veterinarians can work with her for development and good quality of life. The other 15 kittens range in age and size. Most are eating on their own. The average foster commitment for the babies is approximately 6-8 weeks. Thank you.

Maxmillian

Image
Maxmillian , 9, is a jolly boy asking for a hero and a leisurely lifestyle.  Due to birth defects with his front paws, he can only walk short distances.  Maxmillian needed us when his previous owner passed away.  He is a Basset Hound & Beagle mix, housetrained & crate-trained, good with cats & dogs & kids, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Maxmillian's toys must be large and indestructible (because he reportedly tries to eat and swallow them).  Please help find someone wonderful for him!

Basil needs a hero.

Image
Basil lives in the moment with such thrill and zeal, reminding us how precious life is. Please share this post to help find a hero for this junior puppy who is challenged with birth defects. We are seeking either a special needs adoption or a long-term foster home until we can place him in a forever home. Basil , a wonderfully jovial junior puppy who loves to cuddle, is likely a blend of Boxer, Bulldog, and Bully, 10 months of age and neutered, and good with other dogs.    The reason he's wearing a denim-style diaper in this picture is because the birth defects affecting his hind legs and lower spine have resulted in incontinence. Advanced veterinary specialists have evaluated and cared for Basil and they are unsure whether his condition will remain steady or deteriorate. So every quality day means the world to Basil . He is currently in a temporary foster home, but needs to find a new one because another dog in the home is not a...

Basil

Image
Basil , a junior puppy with heart-melting charm, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org).    He always wears a smile, helped in part by the coloration on both sides of his face and the shape of his mouth. Basil is 9 months young, a Bully & English Bulldog mix, neutered boy, and he appears to enjoy some dogs (and we are still learning about his compatibility with other dogs). Basil needs a hero. He has severely bowed hind legs (birth defect). Basil uses them to walk by hopping.

Coeur D'Or

Image
Coeur D'Or ("Golden Heart"), a radiant girl with unconditional devotion, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is an Australian Shepherd & Golden Retriever mix, 4 years of age, spayed, and compatible with most dogs.  Coeur D'Or has birth defects which affect the shape of her nose and mouth and the condition of her tooth enamel. She is one of 18 animals we rescued from another shelter on Christmas Eve.

Lily, dreaming of a hero.

Image
Lily cannot see you, but she responds to your touch and melts in your arms when you talk to her reassuringly.  She is a lovely shorthair with tortoiseshell coloring, about 4 years of age and spayed, awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Lily's eyes were not fully formed (birth defect), so she is mostly blind.  She learns rooms quickly.  At the time of rescue her previous owners were attempting to have her destroyed and cited her eyes as the reason.  Lily has tremendous devotion to share.  Please help find her a hero.

Jackie

Image
Jackie is blessed with the most gentle spirit.  She is an angel on this Earth and she needs a loving home.  Jackie is a Doberman Pinscher, 3 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is terrific with other dogs too.  Jackie was at another shelter and needed our help.  As you can see, she has birth defects that affected the location of her teeth, eyes, and ears, but we see her as uniquely perfect & perfectly unique, the sweetest bundle of love.

Adopt me and I will illuminate your life with joy every day.

Update: Loving Larry was adopted on January 7th! Radiant and outgoing, Loving Larr y is blessed with a razzle-dazzle personality. He is a Miniature Poodle, neutered male, about 2 years young. Loving Larry is great with other friendly dogs. Please plan on regular grooming care and budget accordingly. The deformation of front right leg and foot is believed to be the result of birth defects. He has adjusted well though and seems unhindered by this. Loving Larry debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
