Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Tubby , 10, an angelic and well-behaved boy, yearns for someone who will shower him with affection and praise.    He is an especially handsome Retriever & Shepherd mix, housetrained, great with kids and dogs, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Tubby's previous owner surrendered him for incessant crying and howling after his soul-mate (a senior dog) passed away. Tubby needed to mourn his loss (a natural and necessary response to extreme heartbreak).    He wants to be around dogs and people as much as he can.    Please share Tubby's picture and help find him someone wonderful.

Michael politely bows his head when you approach, then looks up with gentle and hopeful eyes pleading for kindness. Michael is an angelic boy, a Labradoodle mix, 6 years of age, good with other dogs, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . He is one of eleven animals rescued so far from a defunct animal organization. He is recovering well from neglect and hopes to have someone to love very soon.

Gabriel wants the people he loves to be happy.    He watches your mood carefully and checks on you often. When you tell Gabriel that you appreciate his devotion, he covers your cheeks in doggie kisses. He is an angelic Chihuahua mix, 8 years of age and neutered, great with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued Gabriel from another shelter that asked for our help.

Casper , 12, treasures the peaceful and tender moments in your arms. He is a Shih-Tzu, great with other sweet dogs, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He was at another shelter that asked for our help due to his extreme neglect. We had to have Casper shaved to remove all of the matted knotting. He he has few teeth left and requires very soft meals and treats. After what was certainly years of disregard, please help us find Casper a hero who will pamper him lovingly.

Uno hopes you will let him melt your heart, as his physical disabilities in no way reduce his capacity to love.  He is a young Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund mix), 1 year of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Uno from another shelter.  He had sustained massive trauma (from an unknown source) resulting in partial blindness in his right eye and neurological damage.  Uno walks in a shuffling, crawling manner.  When you tell him it's time for treats he throws his front arms up over his head in an enthusiastic Hallelujah! and his whole body wiggles with joy. Frisco, this morning, debuting for adoption. Frisco is an endearing little boy and so hopeful he will finally know what being loved feels like.  He is a Papillon & Maltese, 6 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Frisco enjoys bonding with people and dogs.  Special thanks to Hair of the Dog Spa for his beautiful grooming.

Lumiere is getting a fresh start at 12 years of age.  We love the wise and contented look in his eyes, knowing that his fortunes have so dramatically improved.  Lumiere is a Bichon Frise & Poodle mix, a neutered boy, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue he was unrecognizable at another shelter (named Snowball) and suffering from extreme matting/neglect and dental decay.  Now cleaned, groomed (with special thanks to Hair of the Dog spa), eating premium food, and healing well from his dental operation, Lumiere is ready to complete his transformation by becoming a cherished member of a loving family.

Willy is an exceptionally gentle boy, an Australian Shepherd mix, 15 years of age, and blind, and he needs a hero. Willy was found alone on the streets by an animal control officer.  He was taken to another shelter that tracked his microchip ID to his owner.  But despite her repeated assurances she would reclaim him, four failed days passed, and Willy was becoming dangerously lethargic.  The shelter agreed to let Nevada SPCA rescue him and find him a hero.  He is now eating heartily and his spirits are brightening.  We believe his blindness is recent -- he is reluctant to walk out of fear he will get hurt.  At 15, we don't know how many days, weeks, months, or years Willy has left, but he deserves to have peace and comfort for every moment. Honeybear is young at heart and enjoys chasing frisbees with the volunteers in our courtyard.  He is an angelic Chocolate Labrador Retriever, about 9 years of age, a neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Honeybear adores kind people and he is reportedly housetrained.  At the time of rescue Honeybear was at another shelter and needed us because of his age.  He had reportedly been surrendered there because he no longer wanted to play with the children in his previous family.

What better compliment than saying someone makes others feel welcome and at ease?  This is why Zeus is such a magnificent boy, a very convivial and gracious senior.  Zeus is a Rottweiler mix, at least 10 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is exceptional with other dogs and even very shy, insecure dogs can feel renewed and at peace in his presence.  But Zeus needs a hero, because his hips are weak, so walks need to be brief and leisurely, and his bedding very soft and comfy.  Please help us find him a loving home where he can spend his final months or years with dignity and grace, maintaining his bright spirit, which we believe is a blessing to everyone he meets.
