Maggie , a luminous young Shih-Tzu, likes giving doggie kisses to people who are sweet to her.  She is 1 year of age, spayed, crate-trained, partially housetrained, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Maggie needed us due to her previous owners' financial hardship.  She reportedly can be nippy and grumpy when anxious, so an experienced, adult-only home is needed for her continuing progress.

Trudy cannot hear you reassure her, so your actions, touch, and body language are critical in helping her feel secure.  She is a Malti-Poo, 6 years of age and spayed, good with other calm dogs, deaf, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Trudy gets anxious about her face being touched unexpectedly or if she thinks a child is going to try and pick her up. A very gentle and peaceful home environment with a steady routine is ideal for her.

Fernando is a thoughtful Cane Corso who beams when he knows the people around him accept him. He is 4 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. All indications suggest that this boy had a disturbing background. His ears were crudely and jaggedly cut off, he is many pounds underweight, he may have been taunted by kids, and he was abandoned at another shelter (that asked for our help with him). For Fernando's continued improvement and to err on the safe side for nip/bite prevention, a very experienced and adult-only home is strictly required. Fernando likes his caretakers and wants to please them. He is shy with strangers, but bonds easily and strongly with people once he knows their intentions. His loving potential is enormous. While he cannot be adopted to a family with kids, we ask for your help finding Fernando someone with advanced dog training/behavior skills who can make a lifetime commitment to him. T...

Pixie , a 3-pound sweetheart, longs for order, routine, and other stability. She is very sensitive and needs structure she can count on. Pixie is a darling Chihuahua with enormous loving potential, 8 years of age and spayed, good with cats and dogs, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    She needs an adult-only home because she can get very fussy and nippy when nervous. Once settled in a quiet home, she will be ready to bloom.

Giorgio beams with kindness and good cheer.  He is a remarkably cute blend of American Eskimo & West Highland White Terrier, 3 years young, a neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Giorgio gets along well with other dogs and he enjoys people.   His special challenge is that he is terrified of being groomed -- we don't know what he has endured to cause this -- and may get nippy out of extreme fear that you are intending to hurt him.  So Giorgio needs a very experienced, adult-only home to help him realize harm will never come his way again.
