Rupert looks to each new person with such longing and hope. He needs someone to love and to discover where he fits in this chaotic world. Rupert is an earnest, humble youngster, a Wirehair Dachshund & Toy mix, 1 year of age, crate-trained, good with dogs, now neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    His previous owner surrendered him due to "not enough time".    Please visit and ask for Rupert by name.

Suzy , a sweetheart baby girl, listens carefully to every word hoping to hear praise.  She is a tiny pup, a blend of Toy & Terrier & Chihuahua, about 3 months of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Suzy was found in a family's yard, presumably abandoned there, with no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip, not spayed).  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.

Cotton & Mona Lisa , humble and well-behaved girls, politely ask for a new home where they can remain together forever.  Both are housetrained and compatible with cats, dogs, and kids.  Cotton is 5 years of age, a Terrier & Toy mix. Mona Lisa is a Maltese, 10 years of age.  The girls are completely devoted to one another, but still certainly have plenty more love for you.

Cindy and Mindy Mama These baby angels, named Cindy and Mindy , and their Mama , all debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Mama was pregnant when we rescued her from another shelter and placed her in a loving foster home.  One day later, she gave birth.  Mama is housetrained, good with cats and dogs, gentle and polite, a small Toy & Terrier mix, 3 years of age, and now spayed.  Cindy and Mindy are now spayed too and 3 months of age.  The puppies are playful and very affectionate.  Our dream is to have all three of these sweethearts adopted into loving, forever homes today.

Exceptionally sweet and lovable, Tammy is an angel on Earth, so ready to bless someone with her unconditional devotion.  She is a beautiful Fox Terrier & Toy mix, 1 year young, spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Tammy is gentle, enjoys other dogs, and she is recovering well from severe neglect. We rescued Tammy from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space for her.

We were in the parking lot of a government-funded shelter getting ready to bring a truck-load of rescued animals to Nevada SPCA.  We came across a woman holding a 10-day old puppy who was near death, fading away and cold to the touch.  The woman told us a guitar was accidentally dropped on the dog's head and she was bringing the puppy to the government-funded shelter to have her put to sleep. She agreed to give the dog to us instead so we could try to save her life.  We rushed her into an emergency veterinary hospital and then said many prayers.  Her chances seemed dim because of brain swelling, but this angel pulled through beautifully and we placed her in a foster home for continued recovery and bottle-feeding. We named this little miracle " Faith ".  She has fully recovered and blossomed brilliantly!  She cuddles, gives kisses, and she is as endearing and social as we could have hoped. Update: Spidey was adopted on February 14th! We love how much character this boy has, immediately evident in his eyes and facial expressions. Spidey is an adorable Toy & Terrier mix, neutered, 4 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Spidey is very fond of kind people and dogs.  He is a social boy and will do best in a home with another dog (or dogs) and/or where the owner will be home often to give him attention. Please plan on regular brushing and grooming for him. We rescued Spidey from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space.

Update: Chappy was adopted on January 4th! Incredibly lovable, Chappy is a good-natured boy ready to steal your heart. He is an attractive Toy & Terrier mix, neutered, about 3 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Chappy from a government shelter that ran out of space to keep him.  He was a ball of knots and tangles, but we shaved him down and this jolly sweetheart was beaming up at us under all that mess.   (His body is shaved, though we kept as much of the hair around his head and face as we could.) Chappy gets along very well with other friendly dogs.  Please plan on regular professional grooming care for him to keep him at his best, feeling like a million bucks.

Update: Lila was adopted on February 1st! Lila is a gorgeous little angel who we rescued from another shelter that ran out of space for her. She is shy, but warming to us a bit more each day, and today she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Lila is a Toy & Terrier mix with cute wing-like ears that feather dramatically with her blond coat.  She is spayed and approximately 6 years of age.  We had a dental cleaning done for her upon rescue. She enjoys other dogs.  We believe she will do best in quieter home.  She is on the verge of a big breakthrough with trust and feeling secure. Please visit and ask to meet Lila by name. Note: Lila is available for adoption.  She was adopted, but returned for being so energetic.  Her previous mom said she is housetrained and adores cats.

Daisy is a precious baby girl and we find her completely irresistible. We believe she is a Toy & Terrier mix.  She is spayed, about 5 months of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please plan on regular professional grooming and carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety and protection. We rescued Daisy from another shelter that asked us for help because of her cherry eye condition.  We had this repaired for her and she has been healing well. She is a social girl and she adores people and other dogs. As with all companion animals, please only consider her if you can make a lifetime commitment to her.

Lil & Kitty Update: Lil & Kitty were adopted on December 4th! Separating these young girls is out of the question.  Lil , especially, keeps her soul-mate Kitty in sight at all times. We rescued these two sweethearts from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space to keep them.  They had been with the same owner before being surrendered there, but we have no indication why they were kicked out of their previous family. Lil & Kitty are tiny and endearing, both affectionate with tender people.  Both girls are spayed and about one year of age.  Lil is a baby-facedToy mix and Kitty is a Longhair Chihuahua with gold eyes.  Lil will need regular grooming care and Kitty will need routine brushing. They debut for adoption today (and their adoption fees are reduced in order to encourage someone to adopt them as a lifelong pair). Update: Stella was adopted on December 3rd! Some sparkles are returning to the anxious eyes of this sweet little lady. Stella kept vigil over her previous mom for 4 days before someone discovered that she had died in her home.  Stella was exhausted, very hungry, and in distress. She is bouncing back emotionally a bit more every day.  Being here with other dogs has helped her and we feel strongly that she needs to go to a home with at least one other dog. Stella is reportedly also compatible with cats and housetrained.  She is people-oriented and animal-oriented to the extent that toys do not interest her much. She is a Toy & Terrier mix, spayed female, about 8 years of age, and she debuts for adoption today. Please adopt her and cherish her.  She is on daily heart medication for life and we will send her home with a short-term supply prescribed by her veterinarian.

Update: Sissy was adopted on November 24th! If you seek a tender-hearted girl and can commit to her for life, then Sissy may be just right for you. She has a very gentle, endearing spirit. Sissy is a blond Terrier & Toy mix.  She is spayed, about 2 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued this little angel from another shelter that ran out of space to keep her.  Prior to that, she was a stray, trying to fend for herself on the streets. Sissy likes other sweet dogs and she needs regular brushing and grooming.  She will do best in a calm home.

Update: Clyde was adopted on November 22nd! There is a tremendous amount of love in this little boy. Despite being a youngster -- he is about 2-3 years of age -- he would rather cuddle than play with toys, generally speaking. Clyde is a Terrier & Toy mix, neutered, debuting for adoption today.  He needed us because a member of his previous family was allergic to him. Clyde enjoys other good-natured dogs and he is reportedly houstrained and crate-trained.  Please plan on regular brushing for him. He needs a new owner who has plenty of time to share affection with him.  He is very social and people-oriented.   Please come meet and adopt him today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Ivan was adopted on October 28th! One of our staff came upon three young people in a parking lot peering under a car. He approached them, knelt down, and saw this little angel cowering and shaking behind one of the wheels.  The young people told him that he was their dog and that he just jumped out of the car when they parked and scrambled to the hiding place. But they were gawking, not making any attempt to retrieve him, and he was in danger of being struck by another vehicle if he dashed out.  So our staff person slid underneath and collected the shivering puppy, who dug his front paws in to his hands to hold on tight. He was smeared with asphalt and tire streaks, making his coat look grey (instead of its natural white and beige).  When the puppy was handed to the young lady who said she was the owner, she held him away from her body, turned her head and raised her nose in disgust at his filthy condition. Update: Deitra was adopted on October 22nd! Deitra's previous owner passed away. Apparently no plans had been made for Deitra in the event of an emergency and she was taken to a government shelter.  When that shelter ran out of space to keep her, we rescued her, and today she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Deitra has a sparkling personality.   Unless you have a heart of ice, we guarantee this little lady will charm you. She is a Shih-Tzu, spayed, approximately 7 years of age, good with other sweet dogs.  We had a dental cleaning done for her after the rescue. Deitra needs regular professional grooming care, so please budget extra accordingly.

Update: Daisy was adopted on October 9th! If a docile spirit speaks to you, then you need to come meet Daisy . She is a baby who enjoys sitting in your lap, giving kisses, and soaking up your adoration. Daisy is a Toy and Terrier mix with lovely hazel eyes, chocolate and white coloring, spayed, about 4 months of age. She needed us when her previous owner lost her job and decided she could no longer afford to care for her properly. Besides loving people, Daisy gets enthusiastic around other playful, small, friendly dogs.  Please plan on regular grooming care for her. Daisy debuts for adoption today.

Update: Brownie was adopted on October 20th! Brownie is confused why he lost his home and family. He watched his previous owners pack up utensils, books, furniture, pictures and other inanimate objects to take with them for their big move, but then he was taken to a government shelter. We rescued him from there, and today, he debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Brownie is an energetic, very lovable young boy. He is most likely a Terrier & Toy mix. He is neutered and approximately 18 months of age. Besides being good with other dogs, Brownie is reportedly housetrained and compatible with kind children. Please plan on regular grooming care for him.

Update: Candy was adopted on September 2nd! Underneath the knots and tangles that had worsened over the months was a super sweet young girl yearning for affection. We rescued her from another shelter and named her Candy . The filth and mess now shaved away, she is proving to be as lovely on the outside as she is inside. We believe Candy is a Toy & Schnauzer mix. She is spayed, about one year of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Candy is good with other friendly dogs and she needs regular professional grooming care (at least quarterly). Please cherish her and make sure she knows she is a valued member of your family.

Update: Bailey was adopted on September 11th! Bailey is a tiny boy with big, round eyes and a flashy, fun temperament. We know very little about his background. We rescued him from another shelter. But we know he is a natural entertainer and he is compatible with dogs as well as people. Bailey is a Terrier & Toy mix, neutered, approximately 4 years of age, and he debuts for adoption today. Please come meet him. You can ask for him by name at the front desk at our headquarters and then spend time with him on the adoption patio or in the courtyard.
