Tootie, an angel.

Image
Seeing Tootie is like looking in the eyes of an angel.  She is very kind and calm, and full of love, and hopeful that she will finally be loved.  Like all mixed breeds, Tootie has unique beauty.  She is medium-size and perhaps a mix of Cocker Spaniel and Shetland Sheepdog.  She is spayed, about 8 years of age, good with dogs, shaved down (to get rid of the knots and tangles) and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Tootie is one of 14 dogs we rescued from other shelters just before Christmas.

The Marshmallow Puppies

Cupid and Domino Bruiser and Sheila Update: Cupid, Domino, and Sheila were adopted on February 18th! With personalities so sugary-sweet and soft, we just had to nickname these darling babies " The Marshmallow Puppies ". Their story is a triumph on many levels.  We rescued them shortly before Christmas from one of the filthiest, dirtiest crates we have ever seen.  They were stuffed inside with both their mom and dad.   It was clear all 6 had been existing in the crate for weeks.   (Note: Their father, Sherman , a Poodle mix, was featured on this site previously and you can read his profile by doing a search at top left). Their mom, Lilly (a small Spaniel mix), and the puppies lived in a cozy section of a Nevada SPCA staff office for extra attention and monitoring.  Their dad was neutered and adopted in early January. When Lilly reached 9 weeks she was separated from her puppies and spayed.  The wonderful couple who adopted Sherman, and...

I never want to lose the people I love again.

Update: Corbin was adopted on July 17th! Corbin is a delightful puppy, lovable and endearing. He needed us when his previous owners separated. Corbin is most likely a Spaniel mix, though he could be a Terrier & Toy mix (it is just too soon to tell). We expect him to remain small or grow only to medium size. He is neutered and about 3 months of age. Corbin likes other dogs. Please be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety and protection. Corbin debuts for adoption today.

My love is unconditional.

Update: Anita was adopted on July 3rd! Looking at Anita's bright, happy face brings a smile every time. She is a bubbly, sweet, pretty little girl and she debuts for adoption today. Anita is most likely a Papillon & small Spaniel mix. She is spayed and about 3 years young. We rescued Anita from another shelter, so we do not have much background information on her. But we do know she enjoys other friendly dogs and needs regular grooming care. Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask to meet Anita by name.

They say I glow with joy.

Lovable and cheery, Baby Girl is full of smiles to share with you. She is most likely a Toy & Spaniel mix, about 6 years of age. We rescued Baby Girl from another shelter, so we do not have much background information on her. She is very social and may do best in a home with another dog to keep her company. Please plan on regular brushing and grooming. Baby Girl debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Will you be there for me my entire life?

Update: Bonita was adopted on March 8th! Bonita is beautiful, inside and out, a warm-hearted puppy with big brown eyes. She is most likely a Spaniel mix. She is spayed, about 7 months of age, and debuting for adoption today. Besides being great with other dogs, Bonita reportedly is compatible with kind, mature children. (But she supposedly "hates" cats.) Bonita needed us due to her previous owner's financial hardship. She will need your patience and guidance to complete housetraining and adjust to living predominantly indoors as a cherished member of the family.

My dad was a military hero.

Update: Angelo was adopted on December 12th! Angelo needed us when his owner, a decorated veteran from the Korean and Vietnamese Wars, passed away. Angelo is a jazzy, stocky little fellow with a heart of gold. He is a small Heinz 57 with Toy & Spaniel, a rust red coat, neutered, and about 3 years young. Angelo enjoys other dogs and he is generally very well-behaved. Angelo debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I offer you awe-inspiring love and tranquility.

Update: Holly was adopted on December 19th! Holly is a majestic, older girl with a mild, sedate nature. This angelic girl is primarily Australian Shepherd, perhaps with Spaniel. She is spayed and about 9 years of age. Holly is trying to keep her spirits up, but she is so confused why she lost her family. She did nothing at all wrong -- in fact, she gave years of her loyalty -- but a family member was allergic to her. Holly is reportedly housetrained, excellent with children, and compatible with other dogs. Please give her serious consideration and spend some time with her on our patio or in the courtyard. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

They say I am an ageless beauty.

Update: Maggie Lou was adopted on December 18th! This sweet old girl is well-behaved and chock full of many tremendous qualities. Maggie Lou is reportedly compatible with cats and older, kind children. She is fine with some dogs too, but picky about who she likes. She is also reportedly housetrained. Maggie Lou is most likely a Spaniel & Chihuahua mix, but she defies easy breed categorization. Instead she is magnificently unique (as all mixed breeds are). She is spayed, about 10 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Seniors, like Maggie Lou, have sweet, calm souls and offer a world of unconditional love. Please come meet this sweetheart today.

I am bashful, but my devotion is limitless.

Update: Dudley was adopted on September 26th! Dudley is a very cute youngster in the process of gaining self-esteem. We rescued him from another shelter. Before that, he was reportedly with an owner who forced him to live outdoors only, which is unconscionable in our extreme desert climate. Dudley yearns for love and wants to be indoors as a proper member of the family. Please be patient with him and put him on a regular routine to aid in housetraining. He is a Dachshund mix, perhaps with Spaniel, neutered, and about 18 months of age. He reportedly is fine with kind, older children. Dudley debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Adopt me and make me your regal, lovable little prince.

Update: Feisty was adopted on September 18th! Feisty has a spirited name for such a gentle, well-behaved boy. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, neutered, and about 3 years young. Feisty needed rescue when his owner became too ill to care for him any longer. He is chock full of exceptional qualities. He is housetrained, crate-trained, and good with kind children and other dogs. Feisty is a bit plump and on the hefty side, so please consult your veterinarian for guidance on helping him safely and appropriately trim up for better health.

My love lasts forever.

Update: Miss Izzy was adopted on October 3rd! Miss Izzy is a young sweetheart with a colorful personality and cheery nature. She is most likely a Cocker & Springer Spaniel mix. She is spayed and about 3 years of age. We rescued Miss Izzy from another shelter when she ran out of time there. Miss Izzy enjoys other dogs. Please plan on regular brushing and grooming for her. Good hygiene is critical with Spaniels. Miss Izzy debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Are you the special one for me?

Update: Cookie was adopted on July 18th! Like many puppies who have recovered from something devastating, Cookie is tentative, unsure whether the world is kind. She recently had a fragile hold on life. She was very sick with the deadly parvo virus and her owner refused emergency medical care needed to save her life. We rescued Cookie from certain death. Thanks to donations from members and supporters we had intensive care provided for her at the Dewey Veterinary Medical Center and she made a full recovery. This is a wondrous day for this baby girl. She is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She is a Spaniel mix, perhaps with Toy too, spayed, and approximately 5 months of age. We believe she will either stay small or grow only to medium size in adulthood. Cookie will do best in a gentle home. She adores other dogs, so a new big sister or big brother dog may help her adjust and feel welcome just that much faster. To all of you who support Nevada SPCA's rescue & rehabi...

I am full of charm.

Update: Snowy was adopted on July 24th! Snowy is an enchanting, unique young girl with a breezy personality. Her very light gold eyes seem ethereal and spell-binding. You just want to hug and comfort her. Determining Snowy's breed makeup is very difficult. We cannot remember seeing any others looking quite like her. Our best guess is that she is Toy & Spaniel mix. She is a spayed female, approximately 18 months of age. Snowy needed rescue when her owner fell and took very ill and could no longer give her care. She is good with other dogs and needs regular brushing. She debuts for adoption today, along with more than a dozen other sweet dogs, at Nevada SPCA. We believe she will do best in a calmer home.
