Sammy is sporty and loves hiking, but when it's time to relax he thinks of himself as a "lap dog". He is very devoted to those he loves and wants to join you for every activity, even simple car rides. Katie seems shocked to hear praise. She looks around to see if you are really praising someone else. When she realizes the kind words are intended for her, she slowly steps forward and edges her way toward your lap for a cuddle. Katie is shy and lovable, a medium-size Heinz 57 with Shepherd, 9 years of age, good with other dogs, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    She is 1 of 33 animals rescued so far from a collapsed animal organization in northern Arizona and her background is otherwise unknown. Thalia is a playful baby girl who proudly sneaks puppy kisses all over your face.  She adores people and thanks them for kindness with licks on cheeks and chins.  Thalia is a hazel-eyed puppy, 5 months of age, a Heinz 57 with Shepherd, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  She needed us due to her previous owners' hardship.

Deerling , a charming 9-month-old junior puppy, is blessed with a very friendly and lovable disposition.  He is an attractive blend of Retriever & Shepherd, and likely with Sighthound too, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  We rescued Deerling from another shelter that ran out of space.  Please visit and ask for him by name.

Van Dyke's heart is so broken we feared he had lost the will to live. (We rescued him from another shelter after officers had to confiscate him from his previous home.) Van Dyke is accepting kindness and his appetite is improving. We housed him with another dog for friendship and this immediately changed his posture for the better. Van Dyke is also bonding well with the staff and volunteers. We believe he can emerge from the depression at any time. Van Dyke is 1 year young, a Shepherd & Yellow Labrador mix, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Roman , like so many abused dogs just rescued, holds his head near the ground hoping not to be noticed. But with a few minutes of calm reassurances, his posture improves, his eyes gleam, and he shares his smile. Roman is awakening to a new reality where he will have confidence, experience kindness, and never be hurt again.    He is a good-looking Heinz 57 with Husky & Shepherd (and other breeds), 2 years young, neutered, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued Roman from another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity and past trauma.

Von is a gentle boy on the road to recovery from severe starvation and eating premium probiotic food.  He has gained two pounds since his rescue and can now debut for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Von may have 7 pounds to go to reach ideal weight.  He was found about a mile from the desert and we can only speculate whether he was starving at a private home or if he was trying to survive near the canyon mountains.  Von is a Shiba Inu & Shepherd mix, medium-size boy, neutered, about 7 years of age, and good with other dogs.  Please help us find Von a wonderful, loving forever home where he will never again experience desperate hunger or loneliness.

Smokey is blooming with new confidence and self-assurance, thanks to the dedication of volunteers and staff bonding with him.  These new portraits of Smokey are in celebration of his progress and to help him find a wonderful, forever home, and they are courtesy of Pet'ographique . Cersei is a sunny, well-behaved young girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a beautiful Border Collie & Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and spayed, housetrained and crate-trained.  Cersei loves kids and she gets along well with some dogs.  At the time of her rescue in the spring, she was emaciated and we placed her in a loving foster home for recovery.  Tests show she has a pancreatic enzyme deficiency.  Cersei takes medication twice-daily with her meals (and the medication is inexpensive).  An active lifestyle is ideal for this robust and radiant youngster.

Do you remember Dusty , who was surrendered to us in December just a day or two before giving birth?  We appealed for help in finding her a foster home so she could have her babies in the peace and comfort of a home environment.  Dusty was a good momma and despite being extremely traumatized by all the upheaval, she cared for her pups beautifully.  Dusty is now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a very shy, gentle girl with majestic poise, about 18 months of age, a golden medium-size Shepherd mix.  Dusty is reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, and fine with very mature kids.  Her puppies remain in foster care until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered.
