Scruffy is a frisky, social young boy, as adorable as they come with a loving nature. He is reportedly a "Morkie" -- a Maltese & Yorkshire Terrier mix.  He is neutered, about 3 years of age, debuting for adoption today. Scruffy needed us when his previous owner became too ill to care for him.  He is great with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.  He is reportedly housetrained, but only with a doggie door and may otherwise have accidents, so your patience and guidance may be needed. Also, Scruffy reportedly has separation anxiety and gets distressed when you leave even for short periods of time.  An experienced owner is needed to help curb this anxiety, and while there are no instant fixes, in time as he feels more secure his anxiety will diminish.

Rocky Scruffy Meeko Update 3: Meeko was adopted on December 24th! Update 2: Scruffy was adopted on November 20th! Update: Rocky was adopted on October 23rd! These three loving seniors were surrendered to another shelter by their previous owners when the family home was lost to foreclosure. Because of their old ages, they are 10-11 years of age, they did not qualify for adoption there and Nevada SPCA was asked to take them.  They debut for adoption with us today. All three are housetrained, neutered males, compatible with other dogs.  Rocky is a Shih-Tzu with an easy-going disposition.  Scruffy is a Terrier and Dachshund mix with a jolly outlook and beaming smile.  Meeko is a quiet-natured Chiweenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund). They can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for companionship. Seniors have just as much unconditional love as youngsters, plus deep gratitude for those who open their hearts to them...

Exceptionally attractive, " Scruffy " is anything but disheveled. He has a stunning, beautifully groomed appearance. Personality-wise, he is a winner too. Sweet. Energetic. Loving. Devoted. Scruffy is a Miniature Schnauzer, neutered male, approximately 7 years of age. He is reportedly compatible with older, mature children and housetrained. Please plan on regular professional grooming care to keep him looking like a million bucks (and budget extra accordingly). Scruffy needed us because he was apparently not getting along with another dog in the home. We are unaware of the specific dynamics though, so he may be fine with some dogs. Scruffy debuts for adoption today. Schnauzer knowledge and/or experience is preferred.

Update: Scruffy was adopted on January 12th! Scruffy needed us when his previous owner was deployed overseas to fight for our country. He is a fun-loving, cheery puppy with a beautiful smile. Scruffy is a Terrier mix, perhaps with Schnauzer, neutered male, about 3 months of age. We expect him to remain small or grow to medium size at most. He enjoys other dogs, especially playful ones.
