Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Annalee Apple Darla Apple , a young and demure Poodle mix, was homeless and pregnant when her previous owners moved away without her.    In February she gave birth to two girls, Annalee and Darla . Their father is unknown, but suspected of being an Italian Greyhound.    Apple and her daughters are now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Apple (1 year of age) has a lovely spirit and Annalee and Darla (4 months of age) are affectionate and playful.

Donovan likes you to kneel down beside him so he can slowly approach you. If he feels you are safe, he will step forward onto your leg to draw closer to you.  Donovan is a sensitive youngster with enormous loving potential. He was mistreated by children in his previous home, which confused him and made him suspicious of the intentions of strangers.  Donovan is a Poodle mix, 3 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

Mateo , an earnest youngster recovering from severe neglect, is eager to know what a loving home feels like.    He is a friendly Poodle mix, 1 year of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Mateo was so matted at the time of rescue that he was unrecognizable. A man found him wandering the streets with nowhere to go and no sign of responsible ownership.    Please be patient with Mateo as he adjusts to you, your home, and your lifestyle.

Janet & Jamie , mother and daughter, very gentle souls, ask for a peaceful home where they will always feel safe. They came from a home where yelling and screaming was commonplace. They are Miniature Schnauzer & Poodle mixes, 11 & 6 years of age, spayed, housetrained & crate-trained, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Janet & Jamie are bonded for life, together forever. They are on a special diet (which is affordable and helps prevent and/or diminish the formation of bladder stones). Please help us find a hero for this mom & daughter pair.

Monroe , 2, at the time of rescued from another shelter, was so painfully matted that he didn't want to be touched. Further, his vision was completely obstructed by knotted tangles crusted over his face. We shaved Monroe and discovered the warmest, wisest eyes! He is a 12-pound blend of Poodle, Terrier, and Toy breeds, neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    Now that the knots are gone he is less afraid of being touched. Monroe is shy and likes being with soft-spoken, gentle people.

Galadriel , 9, in the midst of a life-changing transformation, continues to make admirable improvement with trust. The victim of very severe neglect and abuse, she is now unrecognizable from the matted and filthy condition she was in at the time of rescue from the streets. She is now groomed, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, teeth cleaned, microchipped, eating premium food, and bonding with other rescued dogs. Galadriel is a Poodle & Shih-Tzu mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org). She is photographed in a blanket because she is not used to being picked up and she felt more secure wrapped in a covering. Galadriel's physical improvements are going well, but her emotional healing will take much longer. Please help find someone wonderful for her.

At the time we rescued Lady from another shelter, her previous owner had neglected her so severely she could not see through the tangles and filth in front of her eyes.  Hair of the Dog spa groomed her and revealed her expressive eyes.  Lady's "after" picture is so powerful because you can see her full of hope.  Lady is a Poodle & Shih-Tzu mix, 9 years of age, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Catalina is a cuddly, tender-hearted junior puppy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Malti-Poo (Maltese & Poodle mix), about 9 months of age and now spayed.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Catalina enjoys other sweet dogs and she needs regular professional grooming.  The kind woman who picked her up off the streets was able to locate her owner, but the person shocked her by telling her just to keep the dog because she didn't want "it" anymore.  Catalina deserves better and she is ready to bless someone with lifelong love and devotion.

Darian, July 10 Darian, just hours after his rescue It was one of the hottest days ever in Las Vegas, mid-afternoon, in the peak heat of the day.  A person noticed a small "ragged" dog panting heavily under a bush just outside a fast food restaurant. We got on the phone with the acting manager of the restaurant and pleaded with her to bring the dog inside until we could send someone.  She was very hesitant, worried the dog had rabies and bugs, but eventually agreed and put him in a box just inside the front door. A Nevada SPCA staff member retrieved him, gave him water and helped him cool and stabilize.  She then took him to a veterinary hospital for continuing care.  His ears and body were covered in ticks, leading the veterinary staff to speculate that he may have originally come from an area outside of southern Nevada. Now, several days later, Darian is groomed, neutered, and eating premium, probiotic dog food.  He can't believe all the attenti...

Elvis dances on his hind legs when he is especially happy and greeting you.  He is a soulful Bichon Frise & Poodle mix, about 5 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA, and he is great wit h other sweet dogs.  We rescued Elvis from another shelter. He was a matted mess and one of his teeth was painfully broken, but he is now cleaned up, well with dental care, and ready to start a new life with lots of love and promise. Please ask for Elvis by name when you visit.

Zappa is a zany, unbelievably adorable baby boy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is most likely a blend of Poodle and a few other Toy breeds and we expect him to remain small.  Zappa is now 4 months of age and neutered.  He loves snuggling with you and he gets along well with other dogs.  Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming. Zappa was rescued from an abusive home.  We want to find him a forever home full of love where people do not communicate through screaming, yelling, and hitting.

Kira is a very gentle soul debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a cute Poodle mix, great with other dogs, about 7 years of age and spayed.  Kira was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her ear infection and obesity.  Her infection has been treated and we have her on a weight management diet.  Kira weighs 26 pounds, so table scraps are out of the question, and she needs to gradually and safely reduce weight by sticking to nutritious dog food and taking very short, frequent walks.  Kira is an angel and we ask for your help in finding her a responsible, stable home where she will get the loving care and attention she needs.
