Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Look long enough in Moe's hypnotic eyes and you may see oceans, galaxies, and a beautiful soul. Moe is still a junior kitten at 11 months of age, a lilac point Siamese, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . Moe likes climbing to the top of cat towers so he can observe everyone in the room down below him. He is great with other cats. Moe needed us because of his previous owners' financial hardship.

Moe is charismatic and confident.  He loves people and greets strangers with ease.  If Moe sees you with toys, especially wand toys, he runs to you and becomes kitten-like and acrobatic.  He is an exceptionally handsome tuxedo medium-hair, 2 year young and neutered, fine with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Jackie Maddy Moe Moe , and his sisters, Jackie and Maddy , are lovingly nicknamed "The Peppy Puppies" and they are now ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. These angels were just a week of age at the time of rescue.  Their mother, named Joy (who is also ready for adoption and pictured below), and two other adult dogs were rescued too.  Their previous owner said he "can't deal with them". We put The Peppy Puppies immediately into foster care, along with their mom, so that they could be raised and socialized in the comfort of a loving home environment. The Peppy Puppies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for forever homes.  We believe they are a blend of Beagle, Dachshund, and Spaniel, so we expect them to grow to medium size. The babies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong companionship. Joy , their mother, is also now spayed, about 3 years of age, a Longhair Dachs...

Moe Orson These friendly, outgoing youngsters needed us due to their previous owner's financial hardship. Moe & Orson are guinea pigs, strongly bonded boys who want and need to stay together forever.  Both are 2 years of age and quite handsome.  Moe is an Abyssinian mix and Orson is an American breed with calico coloring. Like rabbits, they thrive indoors with cool temperatures.   Outdoor living in our desert climate is completely out of the question and could be fatal. Update 2: Manny was adopted on June 25th! Update: Jack and Moe were adopted on June 19th! Manny, Moe, & Jack are nicknamed " The Mischievous Puppies " due to their adventurous, curious natures. These brothers needed us when their previous owner just said he could not keep them any longer. Please be sure to puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection. The Mischievous Puppies are Heinz 57s, perhaps with Shepherd & Retriever, expected to grow to medium or large size. They are neutered, 3-4 months of age, and debuting for adoption today. They enjoy other playful dogs and they will need lots of patience and good guidance from you to develop into well-balanced adults. The Mischievous Puppies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong companionship.

Update: Caesar was adopted on November 8th! Caesar (pictured here) gets anxious if Moe , his soul-mate, and possibly his father, leaves his sight. Upon reuniting, Caesar will leap for joy, even if only separated a mere few minutes. The boys lost their home due to a divorce. They are very strongly bonded and need to remain together forever. Moe is a Pekingese, about 4 years of age. Caesar is a Pekingese and Terrier mix, 2 years of age. Both are neutered and debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Caesar & Moe are very ready for a new family. Besides being good with other dogs their size, they are compatible with cats and older children too. Both are reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) & crate-trained, however, Caesar may 'mark' furniture if left alone too long. Caesar & Moe love playing with stuffed animals. Please plan on regular grooming care for the boys and plan accordingly.

Update: Moe was adopted on January 27th! It only takes one look into Moe's wise, light green eyes to realize that he is especially clever, and perhaps complicated. On the one hand, he is very playful and enjoys lap time to receive affection. However, he has a feisty streak, especially when he gets over-stimulated (from brushing, other cats, etc.), leading sometimes to love bites. Therefore, he needs an adult home (or a home with only older, mature children). Moe is a handsome grey-blue shorthair tuxedo, neutered, and about 4 years of age. Moe needed rescue when he was found by a neighbor trying to survive outdoors after his owner had abandoned the family home to foreclosure. Surviving outdoors would have been very short-lived. He is declawed and especially vulnerable to the dangers and predators that commonly injure, maim, and kill outdoor cats. Please ask for Moe in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA. Update: Elvis & Moe were adopted on September 22nd! Elvis & Moe are exceptionally handsome Abyssinian guinea pigs with sweet natures. They are strongly bonded brothers and want to remain together forever. The boys are approximately 3 years of age, which is still relatively young for guinea pigs who generally live for 6 or 7 years. Once they get to know you, they will whistle in glee when you come, especially if they think you may have some fresh greens for them. The popcorn-hops are super cute and occur occasionally when they are particular joyful. Elvis & Moe are a bit hand shy at first, probably due to not being handled much in their previous home. But they are warm-hearted once they relax and trust you. We rescued the boys (and their brother Rodney) after their owner threw them away in a small box covered in mites. We gave each a few weeks of medical treatment and all made a full recovery from the mites. Elvis & Moe debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
