Melody

Melody loves people-watching. We often find her comfortably perched on ledges so she can easily watch everyone.  When people aren't around, she moves to the windows and looks for birds and other visitors.  Melody is a beautiful soul, a medium-hair tortoiseshell, 6 years of age and spayed, good with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .

Melody, pregnant girl needing a foster home please!

Melody -- just rescued and ready to give birth at any moment. Urgent foster home needed please! Melody was reportedly abandoned outside of an apartment complex when her previous owners moved away without her. She is not in labor, but so large that we expect her to go into labor at any hour. Melody is 4 years of age and gentle. She needs a loving foster home for approximately 3 months, where she can birth and raise her babies in a nurturing and comfortable home setting. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. Thank you.

Melody loves to hear us ask her, "Who has the cutest dimples in the whole world?" She gives her big smile, wiggles her butt with her wagging tail, and crawls into laps to get smothered with hugs. Melody , a junior puppy, 8 months of age, adorable Staffordshire Terrier mix, has survived so much hardship, yet maintained immense joy for every day of life. She is now spayed and triumphantly debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. At the time of rescue Melody was imperiled from a life-threatening disease (parvo virus) and severe back wound. Thanks to generous donors, she received the emergency and advanced veterinary care needed to save her life.

Conrad, Melody, Swishie, and Tulip

Conrad, 3-year-old boy. Melody, 2-year-old girl. Swishie, 1-year-old boy. Tulip, 2-year-old girl. Conrad , Melody , Swishie , and Tulip are shy youngsters, ready to bloom in responsible, forever homes.  They were among the 41 dogs who survived a house fire earlier this autumn in North Las Vegas (45 dogs perished).  These four were at another shelter that asked for our help due to their timidity.  We find all four to be gentle and sensitive, already improving with care and socialization from staff and volunteers.  They need experienced homes with kind guidance and stable lifestyle routines.  They are 1-3 years of age and spayed/neutered.  Conrad and Swishie are boys.  Melody and Tulip are girls.  We believe they will do best in homes with big sister or brother dogs to help them adjust and reach their full loving potential.

They say it looks like I'm wearing a blond mask.

Melody is an elegant girl rescued from the streets, where her chances of survival were so slim because she does not have any teeth left to protect herself.  She is a tortoiseshell with a singular appearance, a blonde facial blaze on an otherwise mostly charcoal head and body.  Melody is estimated to be about 10 years of age.  She is spayed, great with other cats, and she favors toys that dangle down for her to bat at.  Melody really enjoys chatting softly, always greeting you with her pretty voice when you walk into her room.  Please visit the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA and ask for Melody by name.

Melody's amazing recovery & survival from an attempted beheading.

We are so proud of this baby girl, who we named Melody , and the foster mom who heroically helped save her.    Melody delights in crawling up on your chest and nuzzling your face gently.  She is a sleek shorthair, now 5 months of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    At the time of rescue, we thought someone had tried to behead her, as she had an enormous open wound around her entire neck.  She had a tight rubber band around her neck -- cruelty her veterinarian said was one of the worst he had ever seen.  After we had the rubber band carefully and entirely removed at a veterinary hospital, Marcia , who was Melody’s foster mom, kept warm compresses on her neck and cleaned the wound twice daily.  Now, the blue stitches you see in the picture are Melody’s stitches from having the wound closed up.  She is healing beautifully and ready for a bright, loving future with someone who will cherish her every day and kee...
