Patti

Image
Patti , 10, improving daily, yearns to know what a loving home feels like.  She is a Lhasa Apso & Toy mix, good with other dogs, spayed girl, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Patti was found in an abandoned apartment in horrific condition (matted coat, extended belly, emotional distress).  She is now cleaned and groomed, eating premium foods, and her belly swelling has reduced with daily heart medication.  Please help find a hero for Patti .

Pookie

Image
Pookie , 13, craves attention and barks in sorrow if he thinks you are ignoring him. When you talk sweet, he beams with overflowing joy. Pookie is a Lhasa Apso & Shih-Tzu, housetrained, good with cats & dogs & kids, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    He was surrendered due to his previous owner's hardship.

Gabriel

Image
Gabriel , a young boy radiant with hope, is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  He is a Tibetan Terrier & Lhasa Apso mix with blue eyes, 2 years of age and neutered, housetrained, and good with other dogs.  Gabriel can be feisty when fearful, so a hero is needed to help him continue improving from cruelty and neglect.

Leon

Image
Leon , a youngster so grateful for kindness and care, is changing the way he views and understands people. Weeks ago Leon was found frightened in a family's garage, ill and neglected, trying to find shelter. Since then he has recovered well. We have Leon on a premium meal plan and shaved away all of his knots and tangles. He is bonding here well with people and dogs. Leon is now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He is a Lhasa Apso & Maltese mix, 2 years of age, and eager to have someone to love unconditionally.

Frankie

Image
Frankie is an adorable young Lhasa Apso who listens to you carefully, hoping to hear "treats", "walk", "playtime", or "good boy". Frankie is 1 year of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    He has a happy-go-lucky temperament and gets along well with most dogs.    Frankie needed us due to his previous owner's financial hardship.

William

Image
William , an endearing youngster with a friendly nature, is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is an attractive blend of many breeds, likely including Lhasa Apso, Schnauzer, and Terrier. Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming. William is 3 years of age, a neutered boy, housetrained & crate-trained, and compatible with some dogs (though picky about which dogs he likes).  William needed us due to his previous owner's declining health.

Unconditional love amidst an unjust world where cruelty flourishes.

We have intense feelings about the cruelty of Nikki being surrendered at 14 years of age.  Nikki knew what was happening and she screamed for her mom to come back, which had volunteers and staff gushing tears.  But that cannot be undone, so we wa nt to channel the passion into something positive and beautiful for Nikki -- finding her a home deserving of her unconditional love.  Nikki is a thoughtful, tender-hearted Lhasa Apso, well-behaved (housetrained, crate-trained, good with cats & dogs & kids) and happy to accept comfort and kindness. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  There are many heroes in this community and we are eager to find one for Nikki . Please share her picture to help her get adopted.

Where do I belong? Can I belong to you?

Dusty came from another shelter that asked for our help because he is quite timid.  He is a sensitive young boy who seems to feel lost and he yearns to understand how he fits into this crazy world.  Fortunately, Dusty is already making some progress and we decided he is now ready to debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Dusty is an exceptionally attractive Lhasa Apso, 2 years of age, neutered, and good with other friendly dogs.  Please help us find him a gentle and stable home environment where he can build self-esteem and reach his full loving potential.

I was wounded and suffering, but I never gave up hope.

Corey is a chipper, wiggly, hopeful boy who often has the gusto of a puppy.  He is a handsome Lhasa Apso with mostly blue-silver coloring, about 5 years of age, neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue, several weeks ago, Corey was at another shelter with an open lower back wound infested with maggots.  Corey is now healing beautifully and he is ready to begin his new life.  Please help us find him a wonderful, loving, forever home.

I would love to be your lifelong sweetheart.

Muffin is a young girl with a gentle soul and a flamboyant appearance.  She is a Shih-Tzu & Lhasa Apso mix, 2 years of age, spayed, and now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued her from another shelter to treat her mid-grade heart murmur -- she is on daily medication for life and needs a leisurely lifestyle.  Muffin sits in our laps and kisses our chins and cheeks in gratitude.  Muffin enjoys other friendly dogs too and she needs regular professional grooming.  Please ask for her by name today when you visit (new Sunday adoption hours are from 10am-1pm).

You can help me realize my full loving potential.

Chewy is a very endearing young boy who loves his doggie beds and belly rubs.  But his soul has been wounded from abuse and neglect, so we ask for your help in finding him a hero.  Trust will take time and patience in an experienced, stable, adult-only home.  Chewy is an attractive Lhasa Apso, 18 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is afraid of mops and brooms, loud people, unfamiliar men, young kids, and people who reach at him quickly.  Volunteers have helped him feel more secure and his progress needs to continue in his forever home.  Chewy has enormous potential!

Please tell me I am going to be okay.

Chipper is an affectionate young boy who longs to be held and reassured.  He is a cute Lhasa Apso, about 3 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org).  We rescued Chipper from another shelter.  He had been taken there when his previous owners moved away without him.  His coat was a neglected mess and there was no information about his small left eye.  It turns out that Chipper is blind in his left eye, which is shrunken and believed to be the result of a birth defect.  Please help us find someone wonderful who will cherish Chipper and reassure him that he will never face rejection and abandonment again.

Einstein is a brilliant boy ready for a loving, forever home.

Einstein's brilliant smile and affability have been perfectly captured by Pet'ographique in this portrait to help him find a loving, forever home.  Einstein is a Lhasa Apso mix, neutered boy, 2 years young, housetrained, and good with other dogs.  Children make him nervous, so an adult-only home is needed.  Please come meet and adopt Einstein today at Nevada SPCA .

I am a hidden treasure waiting for you.

Pet'ographique captured Tito Joe's cute, charming nature beautifully in this portrait they donated to help him get adopted into a loving, forever home. Tito Joe is, surprisingly, one of our longest canine residents, overlooked by visitors despite his immense good qualities.  He is a Lhasa Apso & Poodle mix, neutered boy, 7 years of age. He will do best in a gentle home, perhaps with other dogs.  At the time of rescue he was temperamental and grumpy, but he is making improvements with trust.  An adult-only home is still preferred though so he can continue his progress. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for him.  Please ask for Tito Joe by name when you visit Nevada SPCA.

Is my dream of finally experiencing love about to come true?

Athena is blossoming and it is wonderful to watch her progress as she gains self-esteem. At the time of rescue she was severely matted and filthy, from neglect that must have taken more than a year to leave her in such pitiful condition, unloved and dulled in spirit. Grooming her was the easiest part, as now we are working on her rejuvenating her soul.   Staff and volunteers shower her with as much loving attention as possible and she is steadily improving and responding, letting her guard down and daring to be hopeful. Athena is a lovely Lhasa Apso mix with expressive eyes.  She is spayed, about 2 years young, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for her to keep her looking and feeling good. Athena enjoys other dogs and may do best in a home with another dog (or dogs).

Let me be your angel.

Update: Daisy was adopted on January 17th! An endearing girl, Daisy's gentle and loving nature steals your heart. She is a very sweet, pretty Lhasa Apso mix with warm eyes, spayed, about 3 years young, debuting for adoption today. Daisy enjoys other friendly dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. We rescued her from a government shelter that asked for our help due to space issues.  She has some old scarring on her back that is reportedly due to the removal of a lump, but it is expected to be invisible once her coat grows out again. Please visit and ask for Daisy by name.

I would love a new home.

Update: Jenna was adopted on December 29th! Jenna is an adorable little lovebug, gentle and very sweet. She is a Lhasa Apso mix, spayed girl, about 3 years young, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Jenna enjoys other good-natured dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. Her past is mainly a mystery.  She was brought to us by a person who claimed she was transferring them from another rescue group that could not afford her care.  She did have mammary tumors, which we had removed at a local veterinary clinic, and they were deemed benign and she was given a favorable prognosis. Jenna impresses us with her jolly spirit.  Though a small girl, she has a huge amount of love to share.

Please be gentle and patient with me.

Update: Leon was adopted on December 13th! Leon's anxious eyes tear our hearts up.  He is so innocent and concerned about what the future has in store for him. He does not realize yet that he is safe and in no danger.  We rescued him from a government-funded shelter that ran out of space to keep him.  (Each dog varies, but most realize they are safe within three days of arrival here -- due to extra meals & attention & toys & blankets & treats -- and take on a more relaxed perspective.) Leon is a Lhasa Apso, neutered male, approximately 3 years of age.  He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Leon enjoys other sweet dogs and he needs regular professional grooming care.  He is very sensitive and tender-hearted, so a gentle home is best for him.

I hope you love my bouncy, swimming-like dancing.

Update: Bochi was adopted on November 26th! Bochi is a little show-stopper!  He has learned that his enthusiastic dancing wins attention and adoration every time.  He stands on his hind legs, does dog-paddle swimming motions in the air, and bounces up and down. He is a super cute Lhasa Apso & Terrier mix, neutered male, about 5 years of age. Bochi had been abandoned on the streets, where he would not have survived for long fending for himself. He is eager to please, so we think he will take to your good guidance quickly.   In addition, he is good with other dogs. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for him. Bochi debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I could be sleeping at the foot of your bed tonight.

Update: Spike was adopted on November 18th! Spike emanates devoted love. This beaming boy can steal your heart in a second flat.    We are mesmerized by his light-hearted personality and very lovable nature. Spike is an especially attractive Lhasa Apso debuting for adoption today.  He is neutered, about 6 years of age, good with dogs, and reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and compatible with kind children. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for him and budget extra accordingly.  Every dog is different, but Spike may need grooming at least quarterly, on top of regular brushing. Spike needed us because a family member in his previous home was allergic to him.  All indications suggest that he was cherished and adored there. He needs a new home, a forever home.  One that lets him sleep on the bed, which he loves to do.
