Jake , 12, is heartbroken from losing his mom (who moved into a nursing home).    Volunteers and staff are consoling him and we are eager to place him in a new home as promptly as possible in the hope of curbing potentially severe depression. Jake is quiet-natured, mellow Rat Terrier, good with other dogs, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    Please help find a hero for Jake .

Jake , a tender-hearted youngster, asks for someone wonderful to accept his unconditional devotion for life.  He is a super cute Toy & Terrier mix, 3 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with mature kids and friendly dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Jake needed us due to the health problems of his previous owner.

 Update: Jake was adopted on November 26th! Pet'ographique , a professional portrait studio in Henderson, donated their time and talent to help us showcase Jake , a boy whose magic is revealed upon closer inspection. As with other "big black dogs" -- who nation-wide have the most difficulty in shelters and rescue programs -- it is important we do all we can to encourage people to give him a second look so that an adoption decision can be made on his personality, instead of his size or age or coloring. And what a personality he has!  Jake is full of life, very charming and loyal, easy-going, and eager to please you. He is a tuxedo Retriever mix, neutered male, about 6 years of age.  He has been with us since September awaiting adoption, but he keeps getting mistakenly overlooked. Life can be so unfair. Being 11 years of age, and super sweet and cheery, yet still becoming homeless and in need of a new family. But Jake is not one to fret. His spirit is overjoyed at his opportunity to find someone new to grace with his unconditional love. Jake is a rustic, kind-hearted Labrador Retriever mix. He is neutered and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Jake is great with children. His previous owner apparently banished him to living outdoors only, which is unacceptable. Please be patient with him as he adjusts to living predominantly indoors with you as a proper member of the family.
