Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Hansel , a young and tender-hearted boy, is adjusting relatively quickly and changing the way he understands people and interaction with humans. He is 1 of 35 Blond Angels rescued from a home where previous owners were convicted of animal cruelty. Hansel is a Yellow Labrador Retriever mix, with White Shepherd, 3 years young, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Hansel is still shy, but he's no longer running from us. He will approach us for affection. Rather than holding himself low, he now stands tall with his head up. He is compatible with medium and large-size dogs (but not small ones due to what he witnessed in his previous home). More of the Blond Angels will be ready for adoption in the days to weeks to come based on their emotional progress and their spay/neuter surgeries. Hansel is 1 of the 33 Blond Angels rescued last week from a severely neglectful home (and whose previous owners have been convicted of animal cruelty). Hansel and the others are extremely timid and need foster heroes to help socialize them before they are spayed/neutered and then ready for adoption. Hansel flinches when first touched. Being petted is a new experience and he doesn't understand why people want to touch him. He is 1 year of age, and like the other Blond Angels, a mix of White Shepherd and Yellow Labrador Retriever. Update: Hansel & Gretel were adopted together on September 21st! These two young adults are a loving pair and they are bonded for life. They were mistaken for "Easter bunnies" and, therefore, were quickly discarded after the holiday. But the truth is they are domesticated, gentle beings who long to be members of a caring family. Hansel is a Harlequin, neutered male, and Gretel is a Dutch, spayed female. They are both approximately 18 months of age. They are 2 of 70 rabbits for adoption at Nevada SPCA (46 singles and 12 pairs of bonded mates). All are spayed/neutered and microchipped, with adoption fees of $35 per single and $50 per bonded pair. Besides meeting Hansel & Gretel in Nevada SPCA's Rabbit & Guinea Pig Rescue Room, please remember the other rescued species who all await loving forever homes too, including 50 gerbils, 9 guinea pigs, and 8 mice.
