Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Every day is so precious. We are especially reminded of this when those we love may have shortened lifespans. Mia , a tiny lovebug puppy, weighing only 4 pounds, 8 months of age, loves being held and reassured. Talk sweet and she will lay her head against your neck and chest.    She is a Chihuahua, good with cats and dogs, and ready for a hero adoption at Nevada SPCA . Mia was born with a mild case of hydrocephalus (neurological disorder in which excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain). She may live without suffering for many years, or for just several months, as her veterinarians cannot predict her future well-being.    Please help us find a hero to cheerfully shower Mia with love and adoration for however many days/weeks/months/years she has to grace us with.

Liberace , 9, full of grace and good cheer, proudly smiles at your side when he knows he's accepted.  He is a stunning Papillon mix with a flamboyant fountain-like tail, good with other dogs, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Liberace was at another shelter that ran out of space.  Please come meet and adopt this happy boy.

Missy is a down-to-earth girl with majestic, leonine appearance and poise.  She is likely a Keeshond & Chow Chow mix, 7 years of age and spayed, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Missy may be good with other dogs and older children (unconfirmed). At the time of rescue she was at another shelter that asked for our help due to a large mass on one of her front legs. We provided for Missy's operation to remove it and she has healed very well.  Please come meet this beautiful soul.

Rita is a young girl with enormous grace and poise.    She is a Russian Blue mix, 1 year young, good with other cats, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Rita plays like a kitten and enjoys jumping in cardboard boxes. At the time of rescue, Rita and her four newborns were homeless on the streets. We placed them in foster care so Rita could nurture and raise her babies in a loving, peaceful, home environment. (Her babies have since been spayed/neutered and adopted.)

Piccolo is an endearing, well-behaved little "deer" with grace and poise.  She needed us when her previous owner was admitted to hospice. Piccolo is an Italian Greyhound & Manchester Terrier blend, 7 years of age and spayed, housetrained, and good with cats, dogs, and kids.

Will , graceful and wise, gets along well with cats, dogs, and kids.  He is a stunning silver tabby & white shorthair, 4 years of age and neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Will is on a special diet (affordable). His previous owner said she did not have time for him anymore.  Adoption is forever -- we want to find Will a stable home where he will be dearly cherished for life.

Roxie is an acrobatic girl, already so well-coordinated at 4 months of age that she astounds with her graceful leaping and jumping for her toys.  She is terrific with other cats, a tuxedo shorthair kitten, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please kitten-proof your home for her safety.  Roxie has been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home since her rescue from the streets.

Handsome is a very devoted youngster with tremendous grace and poise.  He is a German Pinscher, 1 year of age, neutered boy, housetrained & crate-trained, good with older kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Handsome is choosy about which dogs he tolerates. He has been getting along fine with dogs here, but was surrendered by his previous owner who said he was scuffling with the family's other dogs.  An active lifestyle routine may be ideal for this athletic boy.

Betty White , as charming and graceful as her namesake, loves purring while sits in your lap.  She is a lovely Angora, 11 years of age, a spayed girl, good with cats and friendly dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Betty White needed us due to her previous owner's declining health.

John, baby boy Carlie, baby girl Janice, baby girl Lindell, baby boy Billy, baby boy Cupcake & her newborns, near the time of rescue Cupcake's Puppies debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA! You may remember their rescue last autumn during our plea for a foster hero.  Since then Cupcake raised and socialized her babies in comfortable, loving home environment.  Her babies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for lifelong home.  The three girls are Carlie , Grace (already adopted), Janice , and Sydney .  The boys are Billy , Lindell , and John .  Cupcake is a small Bully mix and we have mixed information on whether dad is a Boxer or King Shepherd. [Note: Cupcake is still in foster care, doing well, and she will soon be ready for adoption too.]

Gloria Grace Wallace Wendell Gloria , Grace , Wallace , and Wendell are four innocent, bashful babies with enormous loving potential and they debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are attractive Manchester Terrier mix puppies, about 6 months of age, spayed/neutered, and expected to grow to 15-20 pounds.  Gloria and Grace are girls, and Wallace and Wendell are boys.  They were at another shelter that asked for our help because they were cowering in their kennel.  All four are improving and responding well to kindness from volunteers and staff, though Wallace remains particularly timid.  A big sister or brother dog for each of them may be ideal to help them adjust and continue building self-esteem.  Please also puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.

Ava Gardner is an elegant, graceful young girl with a very kind soul and she is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA in our Lovebugs Room.  She is an English Spot bunny, under 2 years of age and spayed.  A quiet, stable, indoor-only home is ideal for her.    We rescued Ava Gardner from another shelter.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this wonderfully sweet portrait to help Ava Gardner find a loving, forever home.

Agatha is a very elegant, easy-going girl who softly meows for attention and reassurance.  She is a gorgeous blue, cream & white (dilute calico) longhair, about 6 years of age, spayed, good with cats, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Agatha's previous owner became critically ill and needed long-term hospitalization and hospice.  Her home had the power shut off and Agatha lived inside without electricity for one month, while others brought her food and water.  She was understandably traumatized and distraught at the time of rescue, but volunteers and staff have succeeded in helping her feel comfortable and reassured.

Grace is an adorable puppy who craves attention and she likes to play fetch.  She is a Malti-Poo (Maltese & Poodle mix) wearing a natural tuxedo, spayed girl, 10 months of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Grace is reportedly housetrained and good with older, mature kids.  Grace lost her previous home for not getting along with another dog.  But she was not spayed at the time (and she is now spayed) and our experience is that she is compatible with most dogs.  Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming for her.
