Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Flower , a junior kitten 10 months of age, wasn't thrilled about getting her picture taken this morning, but you can still see she is a lovely girl.    She is a medium-hair tortoiseshell feline, good with other cats, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA . At the time of rescue Flower was found seeking safety and food in a family's garage. Flower relishes chin scratches, catnip-laced toys, and scratching posts.

Debra and Arline, baby girls Flower, baby girl 20 more motherless kittens have been rescued in just the past 24 hours and we are urgently seeking loving foster homes for them until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered.  If you can help 2 or more, please visit Nevada SPCA before 4pm and ask for Lonnie. Pictured here: Debra and Arline were found nestled inside an old couch left out on a curb.  The man putting the couch in the back of his truck discovered the baby girls hidden inside.  They are about 5 weeks of age. Flower and her four siblings are just 4 weeks of age.  A man found them in the back seat of his truck.  Their mother had jumped out when he opened the door and he was unable to catch her. Flower is a festive, precious youngster debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Flower is a Yorkshire Terrier mix, 3 years of age, spayed, housetrained, crate-trained, good with other dogs, and she needs regular professional grooming care. Flower lost her home because her previous owner said she had "too many dogs".

Update: Flower was adopted on October 11th! We named this lovely little lady " Flower " because of her blooming, fragrant personality. She needed us after she was abandoned at a local veterinary clinic and became homeless. Flower is a Jack Russell Terrier, spayed, about 7 years of age, and compatible with other friendly dogs.  She is a springy, bouncy girl who loves to jump, hop, scramble, and show off her athleticism during playtime. But she also knows how to enjoy relaxation-time and cuddling, which makes her an especially promising lifelong companion. We are very grateful to Pet'ographique for taking this magnificent portrait of Flower , capturing her million-dollar smile, to help her find a forever home.

Update: Flower was adopted on December 10th! Flower loves to smother you with kisses. She is a wacky youngster -- in the best of ways -- and full of enthusiasm. Flower needed us because her owner died. She is a sandy brown Bully mix, spayed, 18 months of age. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Flower adores other dogs! She is an energetic girl, so please be sure to plan for plenty of time to devote to walks and playtime. Also, Bully knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption.

Update: Flower was adopted on December 14th! Flower is a very loving puppy, full of grace and good cheer, with a beaming, sunny personality. She is a beautiful Golden Retriever mix, spayed, about 6 months of age. Flower enjoys other sweet dogs, but it is very important they do not jump on her. At the time of rescue she had a severely broken back leg, reportedly due to falling out of the bathtub. In addition, she had been exposed to the parvo virus and needed emergency care for survival. Flower required an advanced repair (FHO surgery) or she would lose her leg. This was provided to her, along with her treatment for parvo, thanks to the exceptional generosity of one of Nevada SPCA's supporters. Flower's leg repair was a success and she recovered fully from parvo. She has weekly therapy sessions (for rehabilitation) and in time she is expected to walk and run almost normally. Her owner will need to take all reasonable precautions to help her avoid re-aggravating her leg. F...
