I want to share my happiness with you.

Please help find a hero for Elvis , a remarkably sweet and happy young boy who needs a low-stress lifestyle and home environment.  He is a small Terrier mix, 3 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Elvis is mentally challenged and panics if you try to pick him up or touch his back when he is feeling anxious.  Veterinarians are not sure whether he has a development disability or if he sustained mild brain damage from head trauma earlier in his life.  Elvis gets along very well with other dogs in small groups and, for the most part, will be able to lead an ordinary and meaningful and fulfilling life.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing his cheerful spirit in this brand new portrait.

Don't give up on me. I offer you my unconditional love.

Elvis inspires us with his joyful, indomitable spirit. He is mentally challenged.  We do not know whether he has developmental disability or brain damage from an early life head trauma.  He functions exceptionally well in low-stress environments and his impairment may hardly be noticeable.  But around strangers or in unfamiliar and anxious situations he may begin to panic and breathe very heavily in distress. Elvis enjoys other dogs very much.  He tends to do particularly well around one or two dogs, rather than a large group of dogs. He is a tri-color Terrier mix with wiry hair, 3 years young, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Elvis from another shelter. Please help us find Elvis a hero who will cherish him and provide him with a stable, gentle, forever home.

What does it feel like to be adored?

Elvis dances on his hind legs when he is especially happy and greeting you.  He is a soulful Bichon Frise & Poodle mix, about 5 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA, and he is great wit h other sweet dogs.  We rescued Elvis from another shelter. He was a matted mess and one of his teeth was painfully broken, but he is now cleaned up, well with dental care, and ready to start a new life with lots of love and promise. Please ask for Elvis by name when you visit.

Elvis, a handsome Bloodhound debuting for adoption.

Elvis is gentle, calm-natured, and well-behaved, a humble older boy who hopes love will come around for him again so that he can spend his final years with dignity and grace.  Elvis is a noble, handsome Bloodhound, about 8 years of age, neutered, housetrained, good with older kids, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. His previous owner surrendered him to us because he said he had "no space" for Elvis .

Our little "popcorning" hops occur when we are especially excited.

Update: Elvis & Moe were adopted on September 22nd! Elvis & Moe are exceptionally handsome Abyssinian guinea pigs with sweet natures. They are strongly bonded brothers and want to remain together forever. The boys are approximately 3 years of age, which is still relatively young for guinea pigs who generally live for 6 or 7 years. Once they get to know you, they will whistle in glee when you come, especially if they think you may have some fresh greens for them. The popcorn-hops are super cute and occur occasionally when they are particular joyful. Elvis & Moe are a bit hand shy at first, probably due to not being handled much in their previous home. But they are warm-hearted once they relax and trust you. We rescued the boys (and their brother Rodney) after their owner threw them away in a small box covered in mites. We gave each a few weeks of medical treatment and all made a full recovery from the mites. Elvis & Moe debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am desperate to be loved and cherished.

Update: Elvis was adopted on July 4th! Elvis is only two years of age. But the sparkle is gone from his eyes. He must have lost hope after months, or even years, of going without love or much attention. When we rescued him from another shelter he was a filthy, matted mess. He was a heap of dirty knots and caked-on mud. It's possible even that he has never before had any adequate care. We shaved Elvis down. Underneath the rotten tangles was a cute Toy Poodle with a musical personality. He yearned for our assurances and approval. He also got along well with other dogs and prized their company. He is neutered, and today he debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. His days of having a lost soul are over. We are so excited to see him change and improve. He is about to realize the joy of life and the peace-of-mind that comes from devoted love.
