Ellie and her five babies needed help when their previous owner passed away. We placed them in a wonderful foster home and Ellie nurtured her kittens with enormous devotion. (Her babies will be spayed/neutered and ready for adoption later this month.) Ellie is a social girl with those she trusts and yearns for plenty of quality time and kindness with you daily.    She is a petite Russian Blue mix with golden eyes, 2 years of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .

Ellie , 15, and full of grace, likes purring contentedly in your arms.    Cuddling and reassurance mean everything to her at this time. Ellie became homeless due to her previous owner's hardship. She is a lovely girl, a blend of lynx point Siamese and Ragdoll, good with other cats, spayed, and awaiting a hero adoption at Nevada SPCA .

Ellie , a darling junior kitten, delights in racing through play-tubes and playing hide & seek.  She is a youngster with gorgeous tortoiseshell coloring, 7 months of age and spayed, great with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Ellie needed us when her previous owners moved away without her. Please kitten-proof your home for her safety.

Ellie delights in snuggling with people and bonding with cats and dogs.  She prefers toys that rustle, so paper balls and newspapers are far more fun for her than standard toys.  Ellie is a blue & cream & white (dilute calico) kitten with fascinating markings, 4 months of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please kitten-proof your home for her safety.  Ellie was found by a family who was surprised when she walked into their home asking for help.

I hope to never feel the sting of rejection again.

Ellie is a beautiful, sensitive, 94-pound Great Dane debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is drawn to kind people, and as she warms to you she begins leaning against you and gently bonding.  Ellie is about 5 years of age and now spayed.  She seems to be fine with some large dogs, but we do not yet know if she is compatible with small dogs.  Great Dane knowledge is needed for her adoption. All we can say for certain about Ellie's past is that she is recovering from heartbreak and had been in an inadequate, irresponsible home.  The person who surrendered her said she found Ellie abandoned in the desert, but this person's vitriolic conduct suggested to us that there may have been more to the story.  Regardless, Ellie deserves better and cannot be saddled with the failings of the people who have had her before.  The stitches on the top left side of her head are from the removal and repair of a growth and wound.  Please he...

Ellie, a young girl rescued during the mountain fire evacuations.

A family evacuating their mountainside home on July 5 due to the fires near Mt. Charleston spotted this young girl racing down the hill too.  Their car was full of people and belongings, but they scooped her up and squeezed her in.  Since then volunteers and staff have been trying to find a previous owner, to no avail.  She had no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, etc.). Further, she was unspayed and it was clear she had been bred for puppies.  We named her Ellie and had her spayed.  Ellie is a tuxedo Bully mix with an affectionate nature and a delightful prance to her walk.  She is 1 year young and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I was the victim of being used as a pawn in a family squabble.

Update: Ellie was adopted on January 23rd! Countless animals lose their homes and families, often with tragic results, when they get caught in the middle of domestic disputes. Ellie was surrendered to us by her previous owner because he had a fight with his young son. This is a stark reminder to all of us how far we have yet to go with many people to get them to realize that companion animals are innocent, loving beings who deserve devoted commitment, rather than being treated like toys or property. Ellie is a gorgeous, animated puppy, jubilant and sweet. She is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy, spayed female, about 4 months of age. She is already housetrained, reportedly. Ellie debuts for adoption today. She certainly deserves better, beginning with a lifelong commitment, with her new adopter.

My future will be full of love.

Update: Ellie was adopted on June 27th! Ellie is so bubbly that her happiness is contagious to people and other dogs around her. She is most likely a Setter and Retriever mix, medium-sized, spayed female, approximately 2 years young. She debuts for adoption today. She made a full recovery from heat stroke. ( She was the other dog we rescued from the back of an open pick-up truck on a searing hot day, along with Jeb .) Ellie and Jeb are available for adoption separately, but if you are looking for two, please consider adopting them as a pair.

I dream of knowing love again.

Update: Jeb was adopted on August 27th! God only knows how many years this sweet old boy went without loving care. We rescued Jeb ( and another dog we named Ellie ) from the back of an open pick-up truck on a scorching hot 100+ degree day. He was dehydrated, pacing in severe distress, and bleeding from the tops of his ears (where fly bites over time had opened flesh wounds). We were very concerned Jeb and Ellie were in heat stroke, so both were rushed into emergency medical care at the Dewey Veterinary Hospital. Both survived and are showing great improvements. Jeb debuts for adoption today and we expect Ellie to be available later this week. Jeb has a personality that shines. He is a medium-sized Shepherd mix, neutered male, approximately 10 years of age. Let's be sure that he never, ever, experiences a day where he feels unloved again.

Why am I homeless when I was so loyal?

Update: Ellie was adopted on September 4th! Ellie's heart is broken. She was a devoted companion for more than a decade. But when her mom needed to move to an apartment, she failed to find one that would accept gentle Ellie. Ellie is a sensitive girl (spayed), and the abandonment is crushing her spirit. She is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Border Collie & Retriever, approximately 10-12 years of age. Love will bring the sparkle back to her eyes and revive her soul. Ellie is housetrained and good with other calm dogs. A calm home is the best fit for her. She is in her twilight years - please make sure she knows she is loved and treasured.
