Anthony Christine Raylynn Ricardo Penelope, prior to her adoption Penelope's babies -- daughters Christine and Raylynn and sons Anthony and Ricardo -- debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  All four love to snuggle. They are tiny, but strong-willed and fearless. Penelope was pregnant when we rescued her in January. She had been abandoned at a veterinary clinic. Shortly after placing her into foster care she gave birth. She raised and socialized her puppies in a wonderful foster home with cats and other animals. Penelope's babies are now nearing 4 months of age and they are spayed/neutered. Penelope has already been spayed and adopted. She is a small blend of Dachshund, Beagle, and Cavalier Spaniel. The father of the puppies is unknown. Please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

Kenny politely puts his paws on your knee and asks for acceptance.    He would love to win your heart and bless you with his unconditional devotion in exchange for a stable, forever home. Kenny is a small Rat Terrier & Dachshund mix, 7 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued him in the nick of time from another shelter.

Buddy & Reno , 11 & 9 years of age, are in good spirits despite becoming homeless, because they have always been able to count on each other.    The boys like sitting side-by-side on the couch and always stay in view of each other. Both are friendly, well-behaved, neutered, housetrained, and good with dogs and kids. Buddy is a Weimaraner and Reno is a Dachshund.  They debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    They needed us when their previous owners moved overseas. Spencer's earnest, pleading eyes melt our hearts. He desperately wants someone to love. Spencer is a calm-natured, cream Dachshund & Beagle mix, 1 year young, neutered boy, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    The person who found Spencer on the streets (with no sign of responsible ownership) briefly had him in her home after capturing him and noted that he appears to be housetrained and crate-trained.

Spartan is a chipper, enthusiastic youngster adjusting beautifully to life on three legs and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is a handsome Miniature Pinscher & Dachshund mix, 3 years of age and neutered, good with dogs, and reportedly housetrained and compatible with cats & children too. At the time of rescue last month, Spartan's hind right leg was crushed beyond repair.  His previous owner said that someone had fallen on him, but all we know for certain is that he sustained massive trauma to his leg. Spartan is very ready for his new life and hopes you will come meet and adopt him today! Sammy's mom went into a rest home and he misses her.    Please help us find him a hero.    Sammy is a petite Dachshund with a gentle, friendly spirit, reportedly 10 years of age (but we suspect older), a neutered boy, debuting for adoption this morning at Nevada SPCA.   He is housetrained and great with other dogs.    Sammy's cupped ears and blue sunburst in his right eye further reflect his cuteness. We had his teeth cleaned and a growth removed from his chest.    Sammy is now ready to share his unconditional love with someone wonderful during his twilight years.

Harmony was rescued from an abandoned house in Las Vegas at 10 years of age with a mass under her front left leg (which turned out to only be a harmless fatty tumor).  She is a lovely Dachshund, young at heart and surprisingly sprightly for her age.  Harmony is spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She has remarkable charm and hopes you will let her steal your heart so she can join a stable, loving, forever home.

Corkie Duchess Nicholas Corkie and Duchess , and their brother Nicholas , are adorable puppies with affectionate and playful natures. All three love sneaking puppy kisses on you. They are Dachshund mixes (75% Dachshund), now spayed/neutered, and almost four months of age.  We rescued their parents too, and both have already been spayed/neutered and adopted.  Their father, Jake , is a Dachshund, and their mother, Jasmine , is a Dachshund mix.  The puppies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong love and companionship.

Harley gives us this heart-melting look and we just want to give him all of the love and security he deserves.  His eyes plead for love.  Harley is an attractive Dachshund mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is 3 years young, neutered, housetrained, good with dogs, and enjoys playing ball.  Harley needed us when his previous owners moved away without him.

Bailee is a vibrant young girl who relishes playing hide-and-seek with you. She is chatty -- not barking, but talking pleasingly to you throughout the day. Midnight & Smokey , beautifully photographed by Pet'ographique .  These "Golden Girls" have the cheerful innocence of puppies and we are so eager for them to find a loving home where they can remain together forever.  Midnight & Smokey are soul-mates, girls of 11-12 years of age, spayed, rescued from another shelter.

Vito & Vince Vito & Vince We rescued these handsome boys from a government-funded shelter.  Vito (right) is the son, about 8 months of age.  His young father, Vince , is about 2 years of age. Vito & Vince are Dachshund mixes, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  They are initially shy with strangers, but warm with those they know and trust. Soul-mates, as well as father & son, they need to remain together forever. Please ask for the boys by name when you visit Nevada SPCA.

DJ is cheerful and well-behaved and irresistible. He is a Dachshund mix, neutered boy, one year young, and ready for adoption today to a loving, forever home. DJ needed us due to his previous owner's "apartment issues". Besides getting along well with other dogs, he is reportedly housetrained and compatible with kind children and loves to play fetch. DJ relishes crawling under blankets to take his naps. Please visit and ask to have DJ meet you in the adoption courtyard. All of us, and James too, are perplexed why visitors never ask to meet and engage this cheerful, zippy boy. One of our longest residents, James has watched thousands of dogs being adopted and he must wonder when his ship will come in. James is a good-looking mix of Dachshund and Miniature Pinscher.  He is neutered, about 8 years of age, and compatible with other dogs, especially dogs who are larger than he is. As an extra adoption benefit, he goes home with free comprehensive dog training! Please come meet this joyful little fellow and we think you will be amazed by his character and personality. Maile Loki and Momi Lani and Kimo Update 4: Kimo was adopted on January 20th! Update 3: Lani and Maile were adopted on January 15th! Update 2: Loki was adopted on January 14th! Update: Momi was adopted on January 13th! These babies have loving, affectionate natures to match their super cute faces. They are Chi-Weenie Puppies (Chihuahua & Dachshund mixes), spayed/neutered, approximately 4 months of age, debuting for adoption today. We generally don't like plastic collars on dogs, but we made an exception here since they are 5 puppies and this helps us keep them identified.  The sisters, wearing pink collars, are Maile (the adorable "runt" who we cherish so much) and Lani and Momi .  The brothers, in blue, are Kimo and Loki . Update: Leggo was adopted on January 11th! The positive energy radiating from this little beauty is awe-inspiring. Leggo (the name she came to us with) is exceptionally sunny and cheerful, anxious to share her goodness with everyone. She is a chocolate Dachshund mix, slightly plump, spayed, just a year of age, debuting for adoption today. Besides enjoying people and dogs, she is also reportedly compatible with cats and mature kids, plus housetrained too. Leggo needed us because a member of her previous family was allergic to her.

Update: Gus was adopted on January 17th! When his previous owners divorced, Gus lost everyone he loved, including his canine brother. He is a social, rustic boy who adores other dogs and another dog (or two) in a new home will go far toward mending his broken heart. Gus is a distinguished Dachshund mix, neutered, approximately 9 years of age, debuting for adoption today. He is reportedly housetrained and fine with mature, kind children. We cannot emphasize enough the emotional rewards of adopting seniors and welcoming their unconditional love into your life.  Please give Gus consideration.

Jeraldine aches for reassurance and adoration.  She is most at peace when we hold and comfort her. She is a senior Dachshund, at least 10 years of age, spayed, with glaucoma in her left eye that requires daily medication. We rescued Jeraldine from another shelter and her background is mostly unknown. Along with people, she finds contentedness with other dogs.  Dachshund knowledge and/or experience is preferred for her adoption. Seniors have a loving magic of their own, with rich emotional rewards for those who adopt them .  Please consider letting Jeraldine into your life.

Coco Oreia Update 2: Coco was adopted on November 26th! Update: Oreia was adopted on November 24th! Coco and Oreia are very pretty baby sisters with tender souls. These girls debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are reportedly Doxie-Poos (Dachshund & Poodle mixes), spayed, about 6 months of age. Coco and Oreia can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship. They need regular grooming care and your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining.  (A steady lifestyle routine is the foundation for housetraining.) The girls are as sweet as they look and compatible with friendly dogs and older, mature kids. They needed us due to their previous owners' financial hardship. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.
