Corky , 10, youthful in spirit, shines with good cheer for children and adults he meets.    He is a Puggle, housetrained, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    Corky reportedly needs to be the only dog in the home. He was surrendered by his previous owner who moved to another state for extensive medical treatment. She mentioned that the scarring on his face and legs was from abuse in another home early in his life, which included efforts to duct-tape Corky's mouth shut. In the years following the cruelty Corky learned to trust people, especially kids.

You can see the confusion in Corky's eyes. His previous owner passed away and he does not understand what has happened.    Still, this polite boy trusts his caretakers and accepts kindness and reassurances. He loves walks and playing with his toys. Corky is a poised, handsome Rat Terrier, 5 years of age, housetrained & crate-trained, good with dogs and kids, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .

After being abandoned, Corky pleaded for food from house to house throughout his neighborhood, relying on the kindness of strangers to stay alive.   Now, this handsome, distinguished boy is safe with us and never having to worry whether he will miss a meal.  Pet'ographique captured his sweet spirit wonderfully in this brand new portrait.    Corky is neutered, about 8 years of age, great with other cats, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Corky was adopted on March 13th! Petite, sweet Corky is a needy, clingy boy longing to feel like he belongs with someone. He is a Maltese, 3 years of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today. Corky was rescued from a puppy mill going out of business. We do not believe he has ever known a single day of being in a loving home environment. We believe he will bloom beautifully in a gentle, patient home with a steady lifestyle routine. Corky is fine with other dogs. He may do best in a home with other dogs to help him adjust to indoor living and to complete housetraining. Please budget extra for regular professional grooming care.

Update: Corky was adopted on February 10th! Corky is a jolly, mellow boy who needed us when his previous owner was moved into an assisted living facility. He is a good-looking Cocker Spaniel with buff and apricot coloring, neutered male, about 5 years of age. Corky enjoys other dogs and needs regular grooming care and brushing (so please budget extra accordingly). We are treating him for an ear infection, which this breed is prone to, and he is recovering well. Corky debuts for adoption today.
