Cookie , a demure girl eager to devote herself to someone kind, thrives with order, routine, and stability.  We don't know what she has endured, but strangers concern her and she watches them closely to learn their intentions.  Cookie is a gorgeous girl with warm eyes, a blend of Rottweiler and Smooth Collie, 6 years of age and spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  She was at another shelter and needed our help.  An experienced home can help her understand she is safe and treasured, allowing her to bloom to her full loving potential.

Cookie hangs on your every word when you tell her she is lovely and amazing and about to find the best home ever.  She is an endearing Lhasa Apso & Toy mix, 6 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Cookie was at another shelter that asked for our help due to a growth on her gum (epilus). We had dental care provided for her, including the removal of the growth, and she is healing very well. Please visit and ask for Cookie by name.

I see kindness and beauty in this world.

Update: Cookie was adopted on September 11th! Cookie always seems to have a smile on her face. She is a cheerful young lady with a whimsical, sunny disposition. We believe she is a Terrier & Maltese mix. She is spayed, about 18 months of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Cookie had been at another shelter, but was not adopted there and space was running out for her. She is a joy to have at Nevada SPCA! All of us have been taken by her positive attitude. Please budget extra for Cookie's regular grooming. We recommend a professional groomer, at 3-4 times per year.

They repeatedly bred me for puppies and then discarded me near the Grand Canyon.

Update: Cookie was adopted on November 16th! After noticing her super cute front-folding ears and expressive wrinkles, the next most eye-catching physical features on Cookie are her long, dragging mammary glands. They are the unfortunate result of numerous breedings of this sweet girl, who is only 4 years of age herself. She was rescued near the Grand Canyon, along with Chester, an Australian Shepherd mix who also debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. A boarding facility near the park protected Cookie , Chester, and a few other dogs until we could make room for them. Cookie is a small Shar-Pei mix, approximately only 25-30 pounds. She is now spayed and about 4 years of age. Cookie adores other dogs and finds great comfort in their company. We feel strongly that she needs to be adopted with Chester or to a family who has another dog. She has a jolly temperament and she is as lovable as can be. Please adopt her and show her the beauty of a committed, loving home where she is ch...

I am much more adorable than a toy Teddy Bear.

Update: Cookie was adopted on September 15th! Cookie loves people. He is a baby Teddy Bear hamster, male, about 3 months of age. Cookie has been socialized well, so he does not mind being handled. He seeks human contact and gets along well with other Teddy Bear hamsters too. He was reportedly dumped by his family at a retail store, where we rescued him and brought him into safety at Nevada SPCA. As with cats and dogs and other companion animals, we are seeking committed, loving forever homes for Cookie and the other Teddy Bear hamsters. So please only consider him if you can make a lifelong commitment to him joining your family, getting the care and attention he needs and deserves.

Are you the special one for me?

Update: Cookie was adopted on July 18th! Like many puppies who have recovered from something devastating, Cookie is tentative, unsure whether the world is kind. She recently had a fragile hold on life. She was very sick with the deadly parvo virus and her owner refused emergency medical care needed to save her life. We rescued Cookie from certain death. Thanks to donations from members and supporters we had intensive care provided for her at the Dewey Veterinary Medical Center and she made a full recovery. This is a wondrous day for this baby girl. She is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. She is a Spaniel mix, perhaps with Toy too, spayed, and approximately 5 months of age. We believe she will either stay small or grow only to medium size in adulthood. Cookie will do best in a gentle home. She adores other dogs, so a new big sister or big brother dog may help her adjust and feel welcome just that much faster. To all of you who support Nevada SPCA's rescue & rehabi...
