Skye

Image
Skye is all about hugs and doggie kisses! She is exceptionally affectionate, housetrained & crate-trained, and great with kids. Skye is a gorgeous, unique blend of breeds (like Aussie Shepherd, Collie & Siberian Husky), a junior puppy just 9 months of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Skye is picky about which dogs she likes. She needed us because a member of her previous family was allergic to her.

Empress, a rescued Collie recovering from starvation.

Empress is an exceptionally gentle girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is a Collie with majestic beauty, approximately 6 years of age and spayed, and compatible with most dogs. At the time of rescue earlier this summer Empress was emaciated from starvation.  Her previous owner said he and Empress were living on the streets out of a shopping cart and he couldn't feed her. Empress has since been steadily regaining weight and energy, plus we had her teeth cleaned. Please help us find her a very loving, stable, forever home.

Where do I belong? Where am I going?

Beau's owner passed away and you can see that his heart is broken. He doesn't know life without his mom, nor how he is supposed to fit in.  But we have Beau in the courtyard right now playing with two other dogs (Derby & Dazzler) and every one is working on keeping his spirits up.  Beau is a handsome Australian Shepherd & Collie mix, about 9 years of age, neutered boy, gentle and humble, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Beau's background is mostly unknown, but we know he led a relaxed, calm lifestyle with an older woman who adored him.   Please help us find Beau a wonderful new home.

Sandy, a sunny Basset Hound and Collie mix for adoption.

Festive and radiant, Sandy is blessed with a beautifully unique appearance and cheery personality. She is a Basset Hound & Collie mix, just 2 years of age, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Sandy loves kids and adults.  She is good with dogs and reportedly compatible with cats too.  She needs your kind guidance to complete housetraining.  (Her previous owner admitted to making her exclusively outdoors, which is unacceptable.)  She needs to live predominantly indoors as a cherished member of the family.

Few seem to notice that I am a superstar.

Update: Desert Rose was adopted on October 23rd! Bigger dogs, like Desert Rose , eagerly await daily visitors, often with wagging tails and smiles. But the truth is that most people walk right past them and head for the areas where smaller dogs and Toy breeds are kenneled. Desert Rose has been with us for months, and while staff and volunteers adore her and take her frequently into the courtyard for exercise, we can only remember one visitor even asking to meet her. So we need to shine a spotlight on Desert Rose and encourage everyone to give her, and the many other big dogs here, a good second look.  This stunning portrait, courtesy of Pet'ographique , is a wonderful way to launch Desert Rose's campaign for new attention. Desert Rose is a gorgeous blond blend of Collie and Husky breeds.  She is spayed, housetrained, loving, and about 6 years of age.  Since she sometimes play-bites when in play, she needs an experienced home with no toddlers or young childre...

What is going to happen to me?

Update: Mary Lou was adopted on July 31st! Though Mary Lou was rescued from another shelter that could no longer keep her, she does not yet understand that she is safe. She expresses a bit of melancholy, though we continue to reassure her that her future is now bright. Mary Lou is a noble sweetheart with a very loving nature. She is a medium-size Collie and Retriever mix, spayed female, 6 years of age, debuting for adoption today. Besides kind people, Mary Lou enjoys calm and respectful dogs.

My future should not have hinged on a guess.

Update: Scotty was adopted on July 20th! It is heart-breaking how many companion animals lose their homes when their owners become fearful of possible medical conditions without consulting veterinarians. Scotty is a baby-faced, well-behaved angel. His previous owner surrendered him to us because she thought he had mange. We had Scotty thoroughly evaluated by a veterinarian and he was found to have no skin problems or medical problems at all. Scotty is a Heinz 57 with Retriever & Collie, neutered male, 7 years of age. He is ready for adoption to a forever home. Scotty is good with cats and dogs, and housetrained too. Please come meet this terrific boy today.

I have an amazing world of unconditional love to share with you.

Update: Bosely was adopted on June 3rd! Bosely has a sparkling personality and exceptionally affectionate temperament. He loves laying his head in your lap, soaking up your adoration and petting. Bosely is a handsome mix of many breeds, perhaps including Collie, Australian Shepherd, and Retriever. He is neutered and about 2 years young. We rescued Bosely from another shelter. This bright, fun-loving boy wants to participate in as many activities with you as possible. Please be sure to have him live primarily indoors with you as a cherished member of the family. Bosely debuts for adoption today.

I will amaze you and fill you with joy.

Update: Rowdy was adopted on June 20th! Rowdy is so happy to be alive. Every day is like going to Disney Land for this youngster. He is a Border Collie & Australian Shepherd mix, neutered, approximately three years of age. Rowdy is very intelligent and well-behaved. He loves kids and dogs, and he's compatible with cats too. He is also housetrained. We rescued him from another shelter. Despite all of his tremendous qualities, he was their longest resident and in the most immediate danger. It is a mistake to overlook this joyous boy. He will provide a lifetime of unconditional love, companionship, and thrills. Please ask to spend time with him in our courtyard. He debuts for adoption today.
