Coco , now well and eyes sparkling, wants someone wonderful to love forever.    She likes crawling, demurely, to your feet and then asks you to pick her up and hold her.    Coco is a Yorkshire Terrier mix, 1 year young and spayed, good with other dogs, and triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . At the time of rescue, from a suspected breeder, Coco was in peril from parvovirus. We rushed her into emergency medical care at an animal hospital, and thanks to extensive treatment made possible by generous donors, veterinarians were able to save her life.

I just want to know that someone really loves me.

For Coco , who had reportedly been bored and lonely for 10 years in a loveless home, volunteers and Pet'ographique added pearls for her new portraits to emphasize that she is a jewel, an undiscovered treasure, who loves unconditionally.  Coco is a warm-hearted Bully mix, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She so craves attention that her eyes sparkle when you say her name or direct a kind comment her way.  Please help us find Coco a home where she will be cherished.

Coco, a handsome Basset Hound who yearns for a hero.

Coco is an inquisitive, very lovable boy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a handsome Basset Hound, neutered, approximately 7 years of age, and he enjoys other friendly dogs.  Please note that Coco needs a daily digestive aid (a pancreatic enzyme concentrate) due to pancreatic insufficiency.  His medications though are a small price to pay in comparison to the universe of unconditional love he his ready to offer you in exchange for a forever home.

For a whole year we waited in vain for them to return for us.

Chloe Coco We recently learned about the plight of Chloe and Coco through an email rescue network.  Their previous owners abandoned them in the backyard of the foreclosed home.  For an entire year neighbors had been bringing them scraps of food and bowls of water, but they were living on dirt and without anything but minimal human contact.  These social angels are now in the safety and loving environment of Nevada SPCA and they no longer have to wonder if any meals will be forgotten.  Both are ready for adoption into loving homes. Chloe is lovely Heinz 57 (blend of breeds) with Retriever and she has soulful eyes.  She is spayed and about 7 years of age. Coco is an easy-going, affectionate Cocker Spaniel who gives kisses.  He is neutered and about 5 years of age.  Please plan on regular professional grooming care for him. They can be adopted separately, but please consider keeping them together.   For the past year all they have h...

Will you be gentle with us?

Coco Oreia Update 2: Coco was adopted on November 26th! Update: Oreia was adopted on November 24th! Coco and Oreia are very pretty baby sisters with tender souls. These girls debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are reportedly Doxie-Poos (Dachshund & Poodle mixes), spayed, about 6 months of age. Coco and Oreia can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting them together for lifelong love and companionship. They need regular grooming care and your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining.  (A steady lifestyle routine is the foundation for housetraining.) The girls are as sweet as they look and compatible with friendly dogs and older, mature kids. They needed us due to their previous owners' financial hardship. Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

You & me against the world.

Coco & Sugar Update: Cocoa & Sugar were adopted on December 6th! We only separated these petite girls once, when Coco was taken to a local veterinary clinic to be spayed.  ( Sugar was spayed by a previous owner.)  Sugar moaned and cried non-stop all day for her sister.  When Coco returned, Sugar was ecstatic to welcome her back, and helped comfort her as Coco recovered from her surgery. Though not biological sisters, these girls are soul-mates and soul sisters.  They need to remain together forever. Coco is a chocolate shorthair Chihuahua about 2 years of age.  Sugar is a tiny Longhair Chihuahua and Toy mix about 4 years of age. The girls are reportedly housetrained, if given enough opportunities to go outside, plus crate-trained.  They are also good with other dogs and reportedly fine with mature, older children. Coco & Sugar needed us due to their previous owner's financial hardship.  They debut for adoption today toda...

We hope to become as sweet and wonderful as our mommy.

Update: Charlie and Coco were adopted together on October 7th! Charlie and Coco , brother and sister, are playful, adorable, super cute puppies debuting for adoption today. They are Dachshund mixes with very expressive eyes and ears, spayed/neutered, approximately 4 months of age. We rescued these two babies and their mother, Bella , a Dachshund, in August, when their previous owner could no longer afford to keep them. Bella , pictured at the bottom of this post, was spayed and taken to the 4th Annual Family, Fur, and Fun Festival in Mountain's Edge last Saturday, where she was adopted to a very nice family. Now it's Charlie and Coco's turn to get adopted.  Both have gentle spirits and show affection to people with a tender touch. Please be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection. Bella (Charlie and Coco's mother)

I want someone who will love me just as much when I get older.

Update: Coco was adopted on May 28th! Prettier than a painting, Coco is a precious little princess who cherishes being the center of your adoration and attention. She is a gorgeous Maltese, spayed female, 2 years young. Coco is good with other friendly dogs and compatible with mature, gentle children. Please plan on regular grooming care for her. Coco is reportedly housetrained and crate-trained, but please note that she may need your patience and guidance still (due to using an "indoor toilet for dogs"). Coco needed us due to her previous owner's financial hardship. She debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Despite our world being turned upside down, we are full of hope.

Update: Princess & Coco were adopted together on May 18th! Princess & Coco needed us when their previous owner had to move into hospice. Siblings and soul-mates, this precious pair of chocolate Toy Poodle mixes seek a quieter, loving home where they can feel safe and secure again. Princess & Coco are sister & brother, spayed/neutered, and reportedly 9 years of age. They are good with other sweet dogs and they are reportedly housetrained. Please plan on regular grooming care for them and budget extra accordingly.

Am I really too big for a condo?

Update: Coco was adopted on March 12th! Coco is a bashful little angel. She is very sweet and ready to blossom in a caring home. Coco is a chocolate Chihuahua (mix) with golden eyes, spayed, and about 2 years young. Besides getting along well with other dogs, she reportedly is fine with mature, older children. Alana needed us when her owners moved into a condo without her. Previously banished to living outdoors or in the garage, she will need your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining and adjust to living predominantly indoors with you as a cherished member of the family. Coco debuts for adoption today. Please visit and ask for this sweetheart by name.

I deserve to be judged by my character, not by a breed designation.

Update: Coco was adopted on February 13th! Gentle and angelic, Coco will amaze you with all of the wonderful aspects to her exceptional personality. She is very compatible with other dogs and is used to being in a home with a small dog. Coco is a gorgeous Bully mix, sometimes goofy and playful as expected of a puppy of 11 months. She is spayed and debuts for adoption today. She needed us when her previous owner moved away without her. While Coco is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door), we cannot confirm this. Her previous owner mentioned keeping her on a balcony most of the time, which is unacceptable on many levels. Please give this sweetheart serious consideration. Adopt her and a lifetime of unconditional love will be in store for you.

I am so desperate to trust and love someone.

Update: Coco was adopted on December 29th! This young, beautiful girl could not understand why she was being hit and screamed at. It has shaken her perception of people to her core. Yet Coco loyally seeks out the tender touch of soft-spoken women who will hold her and reassure her and keep her safe from men. Trusting men again will take time and great patience in an experienced home with a stable routine. She requires an adult-only home and it is a strict condition of her adoption that she has no access whatsoever to young children. This is because we believe if she feels cornered or threatened she may try to nip to protect herself. Coco is a petite Dachshund, spayed, and about one year of age. She debuts for adoption today. Coco feels secure around other dogs and it may be very helpful for her to have another dog in the home (but this is not required). Dachshund knowledge and/or experience strongly preferred for her adoption.
