Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Cinnamon likes chasing paper balls, curling up for naps in soft blankets, and bonding with people and cats.  She is a calm-natured ferret, spayed girl, about 6 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Cinnamon was found abandoned in a park with no sign of responsible ownership.

Mikey , young at heart at 7 years of age, enjoys exploring new areas of the room or house during his playtime every day.  He is very content with quality attention from people he bonds with and cozy pillows for his naps.  Mikey would love a gentle home and he is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from a California shelter (ferrets are illegal in California). (Thank you to the unnamed shelter for working to protect him for rescue and the individuals who made his transport possible.)  Please visit and ask for Mikey by name.

Chili, the mother Cinnamon Fuzzi Rosie Chili , 14, is believed to be the mother of three adult daughters named Cinnamon , Fuzzi , and Rosie , who are 8 years of age.  All of these girls are gentle Chihuahuas.  They are very strongly bonded, but not much else is known about their background (they were surrendered by a relative of their previous owner who had become incapacitated).  This is a difficult situation, but knowing that adopting four together is likely not reasonable, we need to adopt them out in pairs (and their adoption fees are discounted).  Please help us find heroes for Chili and her daughters.

Update: Cinnamon was adopted on January 14th! Though completely innocent of doing anything wrong, there are countless victims, like Cinnamon , who are kicked out of their families when their owner becomes pregnant or has a new baby. Sadly, this is despite growing efforts from veterinarians, rescue organizations, and others who have tried to help people introduce their companion animals to babies and toddlers. Cinnamon is an adorable Longhair Chihuahua & Papillon mix, spayed female, about 6 years of age. She loves to cuddle and she is reportedly fine with kind, gentle children. Cinnamon is partially housetrained (with pee pads), so she may need your patience and guidance to learn to use a doggie door or eliminate in the backyard or on walks. Update: Bronwyn was adopted on March 29th! Bronwyn is a gorgeous young girl with an outgoing, inquisitive nature. She is a Cinnamon mix bunny, spayed, and approximately 10 months of age. Bronwyn was rescued in a neighborhood, running loose where she had no hope for long-term survival. Her previous owner apparently released her to fend for herself upon moving away. Domesticated rabbits rely on humans for survival. When thrown outdoors on their own they succumb to starvation, predators, disease, or vehicles. An expressive and confident girl, Bronwyn will sometimes do a little bunny dance when especially excited (when greeting you or getting her daily salad greens). She is one of more than 60 rescued, spayed/neutered rabbits for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Cinnamon and her sister (Brownie) are " The Golden Girl Puppie s" and they are debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. These two are lively, affectionate, and exceedingly gorgeous girls with sunny personalities. Cinnamon & Brownie are most likely Australian Shepherd mixes, a breed known for great intelligence and cunning. So herding dog knowledge and/or experience is preferred. They are both spayed, of course, and approximately 6 months of age. We believe they will remain medium-sized. Cinnamon & Brownie can be adopted separately, but preference is given to keeping them together for lifelong love & companionship. They are pure gold together! (We are reducing their adoption fees if they are adopted as a pair.)

Update: Cinnamon was adopted on July 25th! Cinnamon is a sensitive little lady with a tender heart. She is a rare breed -- "Xoloitzcuintle" -- sometimes referred to as Mexican Hairless. She is a spayed female, approximately 4-5 years of age. She has recovered well from severe depression. Upon rejection by her owner, she just shut down physically and emotionally. We placed her in foster care in a gentle home environment with other dogs. She slowly began to bloom again and she regained her will to live. Cinnamon's hairless skin needs extra moisturizing and protection from the sun, so please consult with your veterinarian for guidance. Besides a quiet home, we believe she will do best in a home with other sweet dogs. As with all of the animals, she needs a lifetime commitment for love and care. Cinnamon's heart is fragile -- let's be sure she never has to experience ultimate rejection again.
