Carl is afraid of the dark and needs to sleep by your side to feel safe.  He is an adorable, bouncy baby boy, a Chihuahua mix with unique forehead wrinkles in the shape of a diamond, 3 months of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .  Carl likes small dogs, but he is afraid of large ones.  He needed us when his previous owner was diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Matisse just wants to be understood. He looks at people and the world with awe and wonder, trying to determine where he fits in and who he can love.  Matisse is a thoughtful Chihuahua mix, 7 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  He was at another shelter that asked for our help because of his fear and trembling. "Can you see the love in my eyes?" Rembrandt , 3 years young, is a tender-hearted boy asking for someone to devote himself to for life. He is a Chihuahua mix, good with other dogs, neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA . We rescued Rembrandt from another shelter that asked for our help. He was trembling in fear. We don't know what traumas Rembrandt endured, he had to be confiscated by officers from his previous home (for reasons unknown). A woman found Devin in a dumpster, tied up in a trashbag, alive because he was able to poke his nose out for oxygen.     Devin does not fear gentle people, but he distrusts strangers and likes to have plenty of time to warm to them. Devin has the appearance of a little deer. He is a Chihuahua mix, 4 years of age, good with other dogs, now neutered and ready for a home where he will be treasured and always safe.

Blake wants to believe in people and he beams when he knows the person he is with is kind and approving. At the time of rescue Blake did not want us to touch him. He was done with people. But caretakers earned his trust. A very gentle home and steady lifestyle routine is ideal for his continuing progress.

Gabriel wants the people he loves to be happy.    He watches your mood carefully and checks on you often. When you tell Gabriel that you appreciate his devotion, he covers your cheeks in doggie kisses. Vanessa is happiest cuddling in your arms and hearing you tell her how sweet she is.  She is an adorable baby girl, a Toy & Chihuahua mix, 3 months of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Vanessa was found on the streets with no sign of responsible ownership (no microchip ID, no ID tags, not spayed).

Elizabeth is getting a fresh start at 12 years of age. At long last, she will soon finally know what a loving home feels like. She was found abandoned on the streets, neglected, and flinching when touched. She is an Italian Greyhound & Chihuahua mix with mousy looks, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please help us find Elizabeth a hero. She has multiple challenges. Elizabeth is even more afraid of other dogs than people. She doesn't feel comfortable being picked up. She has few teeth left (we had dental care provided for her, including 18 teeth extractions). We look forward to the day when Elizabeth realizes she is no longer in danger and understands that she is worthy of love.

Julie , a starvation survivor, does not take kindness for granted. She gently nuzzles your neck and shoulder when you hold and reassure her that she is safe. Julie is steadily regaining energy and the sparkle of life is coming back in her eyes. She is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA and her progress can continue in a loving, forever home. Sweet Caroline has pleading eyes, yearning for peace-of-mind. She doesn't understand yet that she's safe and wonders why she doesn't have anyone to love. But Sweet Caroline needs to know a gentle home where she never has to fear violence or rage.

Lola is forlorn, homeless at 10 years of age for reasons she cannot understand (her previous owners' financial hardship), but her eyes light up and sparkle when you tell her how sweet she is.  She is a dainty Jack Russell Terrier & Chihuahua mix, spayed girl, housetrained & crate-trained, good with dogs and mature kids, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Leslie , a sensitive and emaciated little girl, gains a bit more strength, weight, and energy each day.   She is an Italian Greyhound & Chihuahua mix, 4 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued Leslie from another shelter and we don't know what she has endured.    She needs to continue building self-esteem and good health in a loving, stable forever home.    Please help find a hero for Leslie .

Jacob is a solemn little gentleman politely asking you to accept his unconditional love in exchange for a stable, forever home. He is good with other dogs and drawn to gentle people. Dixie was at another shelter that asked for our help.  She was curled up in a ball, tense, terrified of everyone and everything.  Dixie does not yet fully understand that she is safe, but she is lifting her head, trusting us and accepting kindness, and making friends with other dogs.  We are so happy to see her bloom and believe she is ready to join a quiet, loving forever home.  Dixie is a petite, pretty Chihuahua mix, 2 years of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Ranger's adjustment to life on three legs is much simpler than his recovery from cruelty and abuse.  We rescued this young boy from another shelter and extreme trauma had injured his right front leg beyond repair.  Ranger is worried that if he trusts the wrong person that he will become victimized by violence yet again.  But volunteers and staff are succeeding in helping him feel safe and he's beginning to bloom.  Ranger is an attractive Chihuahua mix, 2 years of age, neutered, very good with other dogs, and he is debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA and seeking a hero to help his emotional healing continue.

Chesapeake is one of many dogs rescued this year from dumpsters.    This used to only happen a few times annually -- always terribly disturbing, and certainly a reflection on the person acting so cruelly rather than anything to do with the an imals.    Sadly, dumpster discarding of animals seems to be becoming more commonplace and we worry about all of those who are not found in time to be saved.    Chesapeake is a gentle soul, an Italian Greyhound & Chihuahua mix, 5 years of age, a spayed girl, good with other calm dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    She is an emotional, loving being who deserves to be cherished and showered with kindness.

Hank, baby boy. Juliette, baby girl. Monroe, baby boy. Nick, baby boy. Rosalee, baby girl. These five angelic and playful babies debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Juliette and Rosalee are girls.  Hank , Monroe , and Nick are boys. Their foster mom lovingly nicknamed them "The Fairy Tale Puppies" because she named them after TV show characters (Grimm show). Adaline , their mother, and her puppies were rescued when they were just 10 days old.  Their previous owner moved away without them.  We immediately placed them in nurturing foster care so that Adaline could raise them in a comfortable home environment.  The puppies have also been socialized with cats and rabbits. The Fairy Tale Puppies are now 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.
