Candy

Candy pleads for a fresh start at 11 years of age. She is a gentle girl lacking confidence, but wanting to build bonds with soft-spoken people who praise her.    Candy is an Australian Shepherd mix, spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Candy is 1 of 33 animals we have rescued so far from an animal organization that collapsed in northern Arizona and nothing further is known of her background.    She likes being with other dogs, but for meals and treats needs to be alone so she doesn't have to worry about another dog stealing her food. Please share Candy's picture to help find her a hero.

Candy has a beautiful soul and a calm nature.    Now healed, she is eager to love someone with all of her heart and she debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Candy is an Akita, 4 years of age and spayed.    Her background is mostly a mystery. She was at another shelter that asked for our help due to a severe front bottom leg wound (a deep cut from an unknown cause). Veterinarians were able to save her paw and bottom leg and in the weeks since her rescue she has recovered well. Candy now walks without pain or limping.

Candy , a precious baby girl, climbs as close as she can to you for hugs and cuddles.    Soothing reassurance means the world to her and she loves to hear you tell her that she is safe. Candy is a Chihuahua puppy with hazel eyes, 6 months of age and spayed, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.    She was found on the streets with no sign of responsible ownership.

Mandy Sandy Dandy Candy Randy Pandy The Dandy Puppies -- Candy , Dandy , Mandy , Pandy , Randy , and Sandy -- debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. All are girls, except for Randy , 3 months of age and spayed, with rowdy-fun and comical personalities.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.  A family said someone abandoned the six babies in their backyard.  Each has some light facial scarring, which is believed to most likely be the result of them playing together.  But Randy had a large and severe burn on his back (now healed).  Please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

We are sweethearts and we need a new home, please.

Update: Candy & Coco Bits were adopted on November 13th! Candy & Coco Bits are lovable, bright, peppy girls with hearts of gold. They are Dachshunds, spayed, approximately 4-5 years of age, debuting for adoption today. These well-behaved girls needed us when their previous owners' grandchild with severe asthma moved into their home. Besides getting along well with other friendly dogs, Candy & Coco Bits are reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and compatible with kind children of all ages. Perhaps they are a bit too pleasantly plump though, so weight reduction is in order for better health.  Please do not feed them any more table scraps and consult your veterinarian about the dog food and portions they should eat. Candy & Coco Bits are soul-mates.  Please only adopt them if you are completely willing and able to keep them together forever.

Please do not let me feel unloved ever again.

Update: Candy was adopted on September 2nd! Underneath the knots and tangles that had worsened over the months was a super sweet young girl yearning for affection. We rescued her from another shelter and named her Candy . The filth and mess now shaved away, she is proving to be as lovely on the outside as she is inside. We believe Candy is a Toy & Schnauzer mix. She is spayed, about one year of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Candy is good with other friendly dogs and she needs regular professional grooming care (at least quarterly). Please cherish her and make sure she knows she is a valued member of your family.

I say that age is only a number.

Update: Candy was adopted on December 28th! After we rescued this sweetheart from another shelter, we pondered her new name, trying to match it up with her personality. Her sugary-sweet nature made the name Candy the obvious choice. She is full of good spirit and affection, and she sometimes tries to sneak in kisses. She also wiggles her whole body when excited. Candy is a beautiful Boxer. She is a spayed female, approximately 9 years of age, though completely young at heart. Candy has lovely, natural ears. Thank goodness that fewer people are trying to crop dogs' ears, as well as fewer veterinarians willing to perform the unnecessary, often very painful cosmetic surgeries. Boxer knowledge and/or experience is strongly preferred for her. She is ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Candy may be best as the only dog, but we have a large courtyard for meets-and-greets if you would like her to meet your resident dog, or children for that matter.
