Callie's eyes accurately reveal her immense kindness.  She looks to people with great warmth and hope.  Callie is a beautiful spirit, a German Shepherd mix, 5 years of age and spayed, housetrained, good with kids and dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  She was at another shelter that asked for our help when it ran out of space.

Callie is emerging from severe depression from her previous owner's death, finding the will to live and becoming hopeful again.  She is an incredibly sweet girl, well-behaved, 9 years of age and spayed, a medium-size Shepherd mix, housetrained and good with dogs & kids, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Your kindness has awakened new hope in me.

We are elated to see Callie so happy and beaming!  This is a huge day and achievement for her -- her debut for adoption -- that has been months in the making.  We rescued Callie from another shelter earlier this year.  She had been abused and initially refused to bond with or trust any of us.  But dedicated and patient volunteers and staff have proven to Callie that humans can be kind, thereby awakening in her new hope for her future.  She is still a bit shy, but her progress has been remarkable!  Callie is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Aussie, a unique chocolate & cream & white blend of several breeds, just under 2 years of age and spayed.  Callie is good with other dogs and may do best in a home with a big brother or sister dog.  Please visit and ask for Callie by name at Nevada SPCA.

I feel so lost and unsure of how I fit into the world.

Update 2: Cora was adopted on October 17th! Update: Callie & Cam were adopted on August 29th! We rescued Callie from another shelter when she ran out of time there. At the same time, we rescued Cam & Cora, brother and sister puppies, who have similar challenges. They are shy and appear to have had very little socialization, so new people and new places distress them. Building self-esteem will take time and patience in an experienced, gentle home with a stable routine. Callie and the siblings are most likely Boxer and Retriever mixes. They are spayed/neutered and approximately 4-6 months young. They will grow to medium size at most. As their confidence builds in new home environments, their personalities will emerge and they will begin enjoying new experiences (rather than shunning them). They can be adopted separately. We believe they may do best in homes with other dogs though -- a big brother or big sister dog can help them adjust and fit in. Callie , Cora, and Cam debu...

I love belly rubs.

Update: Callie was adopted on August 8th! Callie is an adorable puppy and she is eager to learn. She has been socialized well, thanks to loving foster care. Her foster mom not only assisted her with getting along with other dogs, but she was socialized with rabbits too. Callie seems to be exceptionally bright. Her foster mom reported that she is already housetrained (with a doggie door), even though she is just 3 months of age. Callie has a rich chocolate coat and piercing gold eyes. She is most likely a Bully & Retriever mix and we expect her to grow to medium or large size. Earlier this summer when she was just about a month of age, someone threw her into a backyard. We put her into foster care until she was old enough to be spayed. Callie is now debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
