Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Catalina , a fun-loving young Bichon Frise, has tremendous charm.  He is 2 years of age, neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Catalina was surrendered by his previous owner for having an accident in the house.  We want to find him someone caring, stable, and committed to valuing him as a family member for life.

Elvis dances on his hind legs when he is especially happy and greeting you.  He is a soulful Bichon Frise & Poodle mix, about 5 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA, and he is great wit h other sweet dogs.  We rescued Elvis from another shelter. He was a matted mess and one of his teeth was painfully broken, but he is now cleaned up, well with dental care, and ready to start a new life with lots of love and promise. Please ask for Elvis by name when you visit.

Bart is now glowing and shining, so full of optimism that he will finally get to know what a loving home feels like.  He is a Bichon Frise & Poodle mix, neutered boy, 5 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Bart was a filthy, matted mess at the time of rescue, but that neglectful past was shaved away when we had him cleaned and groomed.  Bart enjoys other dogs and needs regular professional grooming.  An adult-only home is strongly preferred.  He is very anxious about being picked up and still recovering emotionally from years of severe neglect.

Beau Don dances and prances and loves to show off!  Especially for treats and smiling cheers.  He is agile standing on his back legs and may spin too in order to dazzle you. He is a cute, plump Bichon Frise, neutered male, approximately 3 years of age, debuting for adoption today. Beau Don is great with dogs, and reportedly loves children and is compatible with cats.  He is also reportedly housetrained. Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming care for him. Beau Don reportedly has special diet needs (beef, no poultry, plus cranberries), so please consult your veterinarian for a diet plan best suited for him. He needed us because his previous owner moved into a home where companion animals are not allowed.

Nicky & Timothy Update: Nicky & Timothy were adopted on November 10th! These good-looking, friendly Bichon Frises have a beautiful strong bond and dynamic with each other. Nicky has a quiet, gentle nature and Timothy is a ham who wants to be in the spotlight.  While she is more polite, he wants to bounce and engage you. They are both 5 years of age, spayed/neutered, housetrained, good with other dogs and mature kids, and need regular professional grooming. Nicky & Timothy were surrendered to us by their previous owner who said the family home was lost to foreclosure. They are soul-mates and need to remain together forever.  Please come meet these angels.

Update: Angel was adopted on October 11th! Angel needed us when her previous owner moved into a college dormitory. She is a darling young girl with a glowing, sunny nature.   She is a Bichon Frise, spayed, just a year of age, and she debuts for adoption today. Angel is not just sweet, but well-behaved too.  She enjoys other playful dogs and reportedly she is housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and compatible with mature, older children. Angel's favorite game is playing fetch with stick-like toys. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for her and budget extra accordingly.

Update: Ghost was adopted on October 15th! Ghost's soul is on the mend. But progress needs to continue with his new owner in an experienced, adult-only home. We believe someone hurt him, physically, and probably screaming too, so he can get very nervous with strangers, and nippy if he believes more harm may come his way. Ghost is an attractive Poodle & Bichon Frise mix, neutered male, about 5 years of age. He is a passionate, energetic boy, full of tremendous loving potential. Ghost is good with other dogs, and we believe another dog (or dogs) in the home will help him adjust and follow the lead of a 'big sister' or 'big brother'. Please plan on regular grooming care and plan accordingly.

Update: Cricket was adopted on July 30th! Cricket needed us due to her previous owners' financial collapse. She is a lovable, gorgeous, shy girl who enjoys attention and adoration. Cricket is a Bichon Frise (perhaps a mix), spayed, approximately 4 years of age. She is compatible with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care. Please note that while she is housetrained, she is used to pee pads, so she may need your patience and good guidance to begin using the backyard and/or walks. Cricket loves playing with a squeaky, ice cream cone-shaped toy. Cricket debuts for adoption today.

Update: Ashlin was adopted on June 30th! Ashlin's eyes reveal her anxiety. A victim of severe neglect, life seems quite serious to her. At the time of rescue she was a bundle of knots and matted filth. We had her professionally groomed and she now sports a Poodle cut. But Ashlin is actually a Bichon Frise. She is spayed, just 2 years of age, and debuting for adoption today. We believe Ashli n will do best in a quiet, gentle home. Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming care. She is compatible with other sweet dogs. In fact, we suspect she will gain self-esteem and confidence faster with another dog (or dogs) in the home.

Update: Lance was adopted on June 11th! Do not consider adopting Lance if you hate getting doggie kisses. This exceptionally affectionate youngster enjoys licking your face to show his appreciation and share his joy for life. Lance is a Bichon Frise, neutered male, about 18 months of age. He is good with other friendly dogs, and reportedly fine with cats and kind children too. Please plan on regular professional grooming care for Lance , budgeting plenty extra accordingly. Lance reportedly needs your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining. He needed us when his previous owners moved out of state without him. Lance debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Shana & Louis were adopted on March 19th! Siblings and soul-mates, Shana and her brother Louis are very loving, cheerful sweethearts who want and need a home where they can remain together forever. They are Bichon Frises, spayed and neutered, approximately 8 years of age. Shana & Louis are good with other friendly dogs, and reportedly fine with kind, mature children, and housetrained (with a doggie door) and crate-trained. Be sure to budget extra for regular professional grooming care. Bichon Frise knowledge and/or experience is preferred for their adoption. Shana & Louis needed us when their previous owners moved away without them.

Update: Paris was adopted on March 5th! Paris is an excitable, jubilant girl who adores other dogs and kind people. She is a Bichon Frise, spayed female, about 4 years of age. Paris is reportedly fine with older, mature kids and needs regular professional grooming care. Her previous owner surrendered her to us because she was having accidents in the house. A steady lifestyle routine is the foundation for completing housetraining. Paris reportedly may have at least a mild case of separation anxiety, so an experienced home is needed. This anxiety can diminish with time and stability, but there are no instant fixes. Paris debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Greta was adopted on February 13th! Full of pizzazz, Greta is an absolutely adorable puppy with a playful, sometimes silly nature. She is a Bichon Frise mix, reportedly with American Eskimo, and we expect her to remain small in size. She is spayed and just over 3 months of age. Greta enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular grooming care (so please budget plenty extra accordingly). Please be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home & yard for her safety and protection. Greta was rescued from a puppy mill going out of business, and spared the fate of being exploited with continuous breeding. Greta debuts for adoption today.

Update: Ike was adopted on February 4th! Shortly after being purchased at a pet store, Ike was surrendered to us for being "too much to handle". This is a common problem we see with pet store purchases. Some tend to think that by spending tons of money on baby animals (in stores or from breeders) that they are going to somehow arrive fully trained. Ike is a super lovable, cute puppy, and there is nothing unusual about his high energy level and his needs to chew, explore, and play. He is a Bichon Frise, now neutered, about 5 months of age. Please plan on periodic professional grooming care for Ike (and budget accordingly). He enjoys other sweet dogs and he debuts for adoption today.

Update: Lisa was adopted on February 6th! Tranquil and sedate, Lisa just has a small flicker of joy for life at the moment. The victim of substantial neglect, she appears to have given much hope for the future. We know Lisa will bloom though, and beautifully, as she comes to realize the potential for love in her future. She is a pretty Bichon Frise mix, spayed female, about 5 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please ensure that Lisa gets to spend time with other dogs and has professional grooming care at least quarterly. Adopt Lisa and show her the wonders of being loved and cherished every day.

Update: All five puppies were adopted on their debut day, January 9th! Libra (pictured here), and her sisters Pisces and Virgo , and their brothers Aqua and Taurus , are nicknamed " The Superstar Puppies ". These five baby angels needed us when their owner had an "oops!" litter from their mom, reportedly a Shih-Tzu, who supposedly accidentally was bred by a Bichon Frise & Terrier mix. We agreed to take the puppies in exchange for their mother being spayed. The Superstar Puppies are spayed/neutered, about 3 months of age, and debuting for adoption today. Each has their own personality, of course, but overall the five are tender-hearted and affectionate. Please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship. They will need regular grooming care, so please budget extra accordingly.

Update: Blizzard was adopted on December 17th! Blizzard is a fun, jazzy, handsome boy. He is a Bichon Frise, neutered, about 6 years of age. We rescued Blizzard from another shelter, so we do not have much background information on him. He enjoys other dogs and loves to play. Please also plan for regular grooming for him -- at least quarterly -- and budget extra accordingly. Blizzard debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Happy was adopted on October 28th! Happy is a loving little snugglebug. She feels most secure with women, especially those who are calm and reassuring. Happy is most likely a Bichon Frise & Poodle mix. She is spayed and approximately 2 years young. She lost her home and needed us due to her owner's financial hardship. Happy is reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door) and she is good with other sweet dogs. Please plan on regular grooming care for her and budget extra accordingly. Each dog varies individually, of course, but generally budget to have her professionally groomed at least quarterly. Please ask for Happy by name at Nevada SPCA's front desk. She debuts for adoption today.

Update: Pumpkin was adopted on October 14th! Pumpkin is a happy-go-lucky youngster with a world of love to share. He is a Bichon Frise, neutered, only one year of age. Please plan on (and budget for) regular grooming care. The right schedule for grooming varies with each dog, of course, but please prepare for at least quarterly grooming. Pumpkin has a mixed record with other dogs. He is fine with some, but in a foster home he reportedly attacked and injured another dog. So he may be best as the only dog in the home or we will use great caution in pairing him up with another dog. Pumpkin debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Update: Shuki was adopted on September 12th! Shuki needed us because the child in his previous family was afraid of dogs. He is a super cute, adorable Bichon Frise puppy, approximately 4 months of age. Shuki is now neutered and debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please be sure to budget plenty extra for regular professional grooming, which he may need quarterly. We also ask all adopters, but especially those who adopt kittens and puppies and baby animals, to very carefully safe-proof their home for the animals' protection. Common-sense steps to ensure the safety of your home and yard can avoid unnecessary tragedies.
