Buffy

Image
"Please protect me from ever experiencing violence again." Buffy glows with hope when you tell her she's safe. Her anxiety melts away and her eyes glisten. She so desperately wants peace-of-mind and someone special to love. Buffy is a gorgeous Australian Shepherd mix, 1 year young and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .    She was at another shelter that asked for our help due to her timidity and extensive scarring from traumas to her face, neck, legs, and body. (Some of her scars are consistent with animal attacks, while others appear to be long cutting marks.)

Spike

Image
Spike , a dynamic and amiable young boy, is eager to please.  He wants to learn to walk on leash, but he's still figuring it out and strolls between your legs.  Spike is an attractive Australian Shepherd mix, 1 year of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  He was at another shelter that ran out of space.

Scout

Image
Scout , a young boy with a beaming personality, offers to love you beyond words in exchange for a stable, forever home. He is an exceptionally attractive Australian Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and neutered, housetrained & crate-trained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Scout is anxious about new places and people, but warms quickly when praised. He is fine with mature kids, and may be compatible with cats and dogs once he gets used to them.

Sadie & Prudence

Image
Sadie & Prudence , a charming pair, ask for a forever home where they can remain together forever.  Both girls are housetrained & crate-trained, good with cats and dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Sadie is a Puggle, 11 years of age. Prudence is an Australian Shepherd mix, 8 years of age.  They were surrendered because they are anxious around young children (from an unknown trauma).  Please help find them a wonderful home.

Gracie

Image
Gracie , a young girl with a shining spirit, loves to look warmly in your eyes and bring out your smile.  She is a medium-size blend of breeds, including Australian Shepherd, 1 year of age and spayed, housetrained, good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Gracie was at another shelter that ran out of space.  She is reportedly compatible with older kids, but gets anxious and fearful of young children (for reasons in her past unknown).

Whisper

Image
Whisper glows with joy and relief when she feels accepted and safe.    A cruelty survivor, new people and situations can cause her distress, so being very patient and reassuring means the world to her. Whisper is an Australian Shepherd mix embarking on a fresh start at 9 years of age. She is good with other dogs, spayed, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA .    We rescued her from another shelter where she was trembling.

Candy

Image
Candy pleads for a fresh start at 11 years of age. She is a gentle girl lacking confidence, but wanting to build bonds with soft-spoken people who praise her.    Candy is an Australian Shepherd mix, spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA . Candy is 1 of 33 animals we have rescued so far from an animal organization that collapsed in northern Arizona and nothing further is known of her background.    She likes being with other dogs, but for meals and treats needs to be alone so she doesn't have to worry about another dog stealing her food. Please share Candy's picture to help find her a hero.

Sabrina

Image
Sabrina , bubbly and cheerful, is a well-behaved youngster who is eager to please.  She is a luminous Australian Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and spayed, housetrained, good with children and dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA .  Sabrina needed us when her previous owners moved away without her.

Peeps

Image
Peeps shines with joy when she knows you are happy with her.  She is a beautiful spirit, an Australian Shepherd mix, 4 years of age and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Peeps was at another shelter that asked for our help because she was trembling and hiding in the corner of her kennel.  We placed Peeps with a confident dog and she promptly became poised, chin up, feeling secure.

Magoo

Image
Magoo is a gleaming young boy with an affectionate nature and ethereal eyes.  He debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Magoo is a Siberian Husky mix, perhaps with Australian Shepherd, 3 years of age and neutered, housetrained, and good with some dogs.    He may have some level of separation anxiety (fearing every goodbye is forever), so we strongly recommend crate-training when he is home alone.    We rescued Magoo from another shelter that asked for our help.    Please visit and ask for him by name.

Hannah

Image
Hannah , innocent at 14, deeply appreciates every kind touch and comforting word.    She is the first of five teenagers rescued from another shelter who is ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Hannah is an Australian Shepherd & Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with beautiful merle coloration, a spayed girl, compatible with cats and dogs.    She has impaired vision in both eyes and asks for a hero.

Ruby

Image
Ruby yearns to know what it feels like to be loved.    She is a beautiful Heinz 57 with Aussie Shepherd and other breeds, 5 months of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. You may recall seeing Ruby's sister, Pearl , who was posted and adopted this past week.    Like Pearl, Ruby is recovering from severe neglect that resulted in maiming of the tips of her ears and potential food protectiveness due to experiencing desperate hunger. Ruby loves kind people and she gets along well with other dogs (if fed separately). Both Ruby and Pearl were rescued from another shelter that asked for our help.

Pearl

Image
Pearl craves attention and kisses people who comfort and care for her.    She is a beautiful baby girl, perhaps an Australian Shepherd mix, about 5 months of age and spayed, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Pearl was at another shelter that asked for our help. She had been the victim of severe neglect -- you can see the scarring/maiming of her ears from insects and the elements.    This included missing meals and knowing desperate hunger, so Pearl can be intense about food and reportedly won't tolerate another dog around her food bowl.    She has enormous loving potential and needs a very stable lifestyle routine to realize that she'll never go hungry or deprived again.

Cash

Image
Cash , a playful, outgoing, and intelligent youngster, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a Catahoula Leopard Dog & Australian Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and neutered, good with other dogs, and housetrained and crate-trained.  Cash was at another shelter and needed our help because he reportedly fears some men and won't tolerate them being near him or those he loves. We don't know what he has endured, but he has been doing exceptionally well with our staff and volunteers.

Pilot

Image
Pilot , an intelligent youngster, yearns for a purpose and a family.  He is a good-looking Australian Shepherd mix, 2 years of age and neutered, housetrained, good with other dogs, and he's debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Pilot is jumpy with strangers, but once he warms to people he gives doggie kisses and smiles.  Pilot is one of the 18 animals we rescued from another shelter on Christmas Eve.

Amarina

Image
Amarina , just 8 months of age, has years of joy to look forward to.  But at the moment she is challenged by memories of abuse and she's terrified that strangers are going to hurt her.  Amarina is an Australian Shepherd mix, a spayed girl, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please help find her a hero who will patiently help her build self-esteem and confidence.  [Note: The red circles on her nose are just pebbles from playing in the courtyard.]

Accept my unconditional love and devotion. I want to be yours.

Lotus is a joyful, intelligent young girl with a luminous personality, and to see her is to want to hug her and get to know her.  She is an Australian Shepherd mix with unique, petite triangle-shaped ears, about 2 years of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Lotus is good with other dogs, but may be too playful for small or elderly dogs.  She was found roaming on the streets of Las Vegas with no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not spayed).  Please ask for Lotus by name when you visit.

I still think of myself as a young pup, excited for each new and precious day.

Rascal is a kind and thoughtful older boy.  His eyes are cloudy and he's not as agile, but his spirit is young and enthusiastic.  Rascal is great with other dogs (and he's even serving as a big brother for an extremely neglected rescued dog at the moment).  Rascal is a noble, handsome blend of Australian Shepherd & Retriever, about 11 years of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He was on the streets at the time of rescue.  Very special thanks to Pet'ographique for perfectly capturing his lively spirit and compassion in this new portrait in order to help him find a loving, forever home with dignity for his twilight years.

Why was I rejected at 11 years of age?

Image
Why was this 11-year-old boy with cloudy eyes wandering the streets, lost and perplexed?  Rascal was saved before physical harm could come his way and his emotional harm is no longer evident. In fact, he keeps a sunny outlook and has bonde d closely with several volunteers and staff.  Rascal is a medium-size Australian Shepherd & Retriever mix, neutered boy, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Rascal is exceptionally sweet, kind, and thoughtful, and great with other dogs. Please help him find a hero who will cherish him during his twilight years.

I think you'll really like me.

Baldric would love to share his colorful personality with you.  We can't say enough good about this intelligent, engaging boy and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Baldric is medium size, an Australian Shepherd mix, 2 years young, neutered, and fine with most dogs.  Please plan on regular brushing.  We rescued him from another shelter to treat his injured foot.  Baldric is now well and ready to join a loving, forever home.
