Nevada SPCA Animal Rescue

Lillian is recovering from starvation and cruelty.    She screams if you reach for her too fast.    She is eating heartily, premium food, and climbing up with body tissue and energy from the 28 pounds she weighed at the time of rescue (from another shelter). Lillian is a medium-size Heinz 57, perhaps with Beagle & Retriever, 1 year young and spayed, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    She had reportedly been out on the streets, trying to survive on her own.    Please share Lillian's post to help find an experienced, adult-only home and lifelong hero.

Pluto's comical charm is irresistible! He is all love, fun, and devotion. Pluto's appearance is unique (masked face, ear shape, rounded roly poly body) and we believe he is a Bull Terrier & English Bulldog mix.    He is 1 year of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    We believe he has the temperament to be terrific with kids.    Pluto was at another shelter and needed our help.

Paris shines when he feels safe.    He is a very attractive American Eskimo Dog, 3 years young, neutered boy, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued Paris from another shelter that asked for our help due to his timidity.    He fears that strangers are going to try and hurt him. Trust takes time, especially with men.    Paris enjoys walking close beside the people he bonds with.

Lehua ("sacred"), a resplendent baby girl, sees every waking moment as an opportunity to have fun and share joy. Lehua likes bonding with dogs and cats too. She nudges her toys toward cats and cannot understand why they won't play tug-of-war with her.    She has been lovingly raised in a foster home since her rescue. Lehua is good with kids, but plays too rambunctiously for toddlers. Lehua is a Bully mix puppy, 6 months of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.

Iris desperately wants to believe in people.    But she still flinches when touched and fears getting hurt. We can only imagine the traumas she endured, likely as a 'breeding machine' because her body indicates she's given birth to numerous litters of puppies. Iris is a pretty Rottweiler, 5 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued her from another shelter.    Please share her post to help find a hero and adult-only home.

Rodney's broken heart is mending and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a handsome Chesapeake Bay Retriever, 4 years of age, and now neutered.  Rodney is friendly with people and fine with dogs (as long as they don't try to dominate him). He is still prone to bouts of sadness and depression, so please don't leave him alone for long periods of time.  Rodney needed us when his previous owners moved away and left him behind.

Mason Jacob Jacob Mason and Jacob are charming boys with affectionate natures. They are Bearded Collie and Tibetan Terrier mixes debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We believe they are likely son and father. We honor the lifelong bonds of soul-mates, but Mason and Jacob do not appear to have a strong bond. They can be adopted separately or together. Both are housetrained, good with dogs and kids, and neutered. Mason , 1 year young, is especially fond of kids. Jacob , 4 years of age, is especially fond of women and he prances in joy when walking at their side. Both will re-grow long, wavy coats. Because of severe matting, we had both of them completely shaved for a fresh start. Please plan and budget for regular pro grooming to keep them feeling their best.

Bagheera , 10, a polite and friendly Cocker Spaniel, needs someone to love.  He needed us because of his previous owner's dementia.  Bagheera has a blue eye and a brown eye (heterochromia) and he is good with cats and dogs, plus crate-trained too.  He is now neutered and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Evita Jermaine Rosebud Evita , Rosebud , and Jermaine are three of the rescued kittens ready for adoption today.    At least 30 more rescued kittens will be ready for adoption tomorrow (Saturday) at 10am at Nevada SPCA. All three posted here are 3 months of age and spayed/neutered. Evita was found as a newborn and her foster mom fed her by bottle every three hours. She has been raised and socialized with cats and dogs. Rosebud was found soaking wet, inexplicably, perhaps from falling into a swimming pool. She enjoys chasing laser pointers. Jermaine loves dogs. He watches TV at your side and meows when something comes on that really interests him. Please consider buying him one of the Cat TV CDs.

Birdie was captured on a golf course after a coyote killed her mother.  She needs a loving foster home for just about 2-3 weeks.  Birdie is not afraid of people, so we believe that the golf course patrons or employees were feeding and petting her most of her life.  If you can foster Birdie, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren.

Jack Ryan , 12, asks for a hero. He is a handsome Schipperke, good with dogs & cats, housetrained & crate-trained, neutered, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA (www.nevadaspca.org). Jack Ryan requires twice-daily insulin shots for diabetes and he is blind in his right eye. He sometimes falls while he walks. He likes a leisurely lifestyle, with short periods of play-time (tug and fetch), resting near you and hearing your words of reassurance.

Lavender loves burrowing under blankets and sleeping under covers. Please include small blankets on her doggie beds.  Lavender is building confidence and self-esteem. She is a young, pretty Toy mix, 3 years of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Lavender is housetrained and compatible with older, gentle kids.

Brandy , 4, is a gentle girl making a recovery from extreme neglect.  At the time of rescue she had apparently ingested a toxic substance and her life was in peril. We rushed her to emergency care and for the past 6 weeks Brandy has been healing and improving with loving care and premium food.  She is a Poodle, good with other sweet dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Denver wants to be your new family member, personal assistant, and most loyal friend.    He loves being at your side, ready to help you as needed, happy when you're happy. Denver is a stunningly handsome medium-hair feline, 5 years of age and neutered, good with cats and dogs, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Jimmy , 10, an earnest boy, promises to love you unconditionally and pleads for your consideration. Jimmy is a friendly Pointer & Sighthound mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.   He is housetrained, neutered, and good with other dogs.    We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help.

Angelo watches you carefully, desperate for signs that you approve of him. When he knows you're happy, he shines! If you pick up a mop or broom, he lowers his head and runs from you as fast as he can. We can only imagine what Angelo has endured. He still wants and needs to believe in people. Please never let him down.    Angelo is a Bichon Frise mix, perhaps with Poodle, 3 years young, neutered boy, fine with other dogs, housetrained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.    We rescued him from another shelter that asked for our help due to this timidity.

Clyde , 14, beams with hope and revels in all of the care and attention he's getting.  An American Eskimo Dog mix, suspected of being severely neglected for many years, he was confused why we were doting on him and brushing him.  Clyde has now had dental care and grooming and he's ready to finally know what a loving home feels like. Charlie and Pixie, with Kona in the back Kona and Charlie, with Pixie in the back Charlie and Pixie , and their brother behind them ( Kona ), were malnourished and in peril in the desert heat. At least one of their siblings had already perished. They were found by a teenager who cleaned them up and provided emergency care until they could be surrendered to us. Please share the kittens' post to help.   Dewey, Huey, and Louie Dewey , Huey , and Louie , baby brothers, also need a foster hero please.  The boys were found by a tourist and there was no sign of their mother.

Mandy & Mark Statler Flora Mandy , Mark , Statler , and Flora are four more adorable, rescued kittens ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Mandy & Mark , sister and brother, enjoy playing soccer with bottle caps. They like chasing laser lights and sleeping at your side, but if you wiggle your toes at night they will pounce on them! Statler and Flora feel most secure around other cats. Each would love a big sister or brother cat to give them guidance and companionship. Like Mandy & Mark , they have been lovingly raised and socialized in foster homes since their rescues.

Terrance is chatting with every visitor today and asking for consideration.    As soon as you pick him up, his meowing his replaced with purring. Terrance is very social and needs tons of quality bonding time with you daily. He is about 6 months of age, a super cute tabby kitten, neutered, terrific with other cats, and awaiting adoption at Nevada SPCA.    At the time of rescue he was found abandoned outdoors with no sign of responsible ownership.

Duncan is fascinated by objects and toys. Call his name and he'll like come running to see what excitement you have discovered. Duncan is a snow-white shorthair, 6 years of age and neutered, good with cats and mellow dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.   Duncan needed us because a member of his previous family thought he or she had suddenly become allergic to him.

Rosemary is all about hugs & kisses, bright smiles, fetching toys, and going swimming. Rosemary is an angelic Yellow Labrador Retriever, 7 years of age and spayed, housetrained, good with other dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.   We rescued her from another shelter that asked for our help.   Please visit and ask for Rosemary by name.

Yasmin Ryder Leonardo Yasmin , a pregnant cat expected to give birth this week, and 15 motherless kittens so far today need foster homes. If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA in person and ask for Lauren. Yasmin was rescued from a suspected backyard breeder. She is a soulful girl, 2 years of age, and very grateful for kindness and comfort. Ryder's name is inspired by his love of shoulder rides and cuddling up against people's necks while they carry him. He is 7 weeks of age. He was found in a family's garage trying to escape the desert heat. Leonardo is a sporty kitten about 3 months of age. His foster commitment is very short -- as little as 2-3 weeks -- until he can be neutered and prepared for adoption to a loving, forever home.
