Toby's triumphant recovery!

Image
Toby has healed wonderfully and he's making strong progress emotionally too, so we're very proud of this valiant young boy.  Toby is an African Spurred Tortoise, a teenager with a human-like lifespan, triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue Toby's front right arm was deadened from being tangled in a mesh band (from sod grass), which acted like a rubber-band in cutting off circulation to his arm.  Thanks to loving foster care, Toby recovered well from the amputation and has learned to not just walk, but even run!, using his new epoxy resin stilt.  We discovered he likes sitting beside cats too for companionship.  Toby is expected to grow in the years to come to well more than 100 pounds.  Please help us find a knowledgeable, committed home where Toby can spend decades being a valued member of the family.

Ann and Foxy, adorable and entertaining baby sisters for adoption.

Ann Foxy At the time of rescue Ann and Foxy were very young kittens found near a swimming pool by a person who heard panicked screaming. Ann was dangerously tangled in a net around her neck and front legs.  We rushed her to a veterinary clinic that saved her life, but best efforts could not save her severely fractured front right leg. The white on Ann's neck is from where her hair grew back over her scar tissue.  Ann and Foxy have since been wonderfully raised and cared for in a loving foster home.  The girls are now 4 months of age, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Please kitten-proof your home for their safety.   The girls can be adopted separately, but please consider keeping them together for lifelong companionship. Ann has adjusted remarkably well to life on three legs. She can run just as fast as her sister! She loves other cats and delights in resting on your chest while you're watching TV or reading.   Foxy enjoys taking

Will you be my hero?

Genesis is getting a new beginning -- the fresh start he so desperately needs.  He was found near a Vegas highway and taken to another shelter, which then asked for our help.  Both of Genesis's ears have been severely maimed in multiple places from unknown causes (some believe from animal bites, others suspect human cruelty).  Precautions are needed in the home and yard not to snag/catch/tear his ears further.  Genesis is a very sweet, humble Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund mix), 3 years young, neutered boy, good with other dogs, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Please help us find Genesis a hero.

Can't humans do better for the ones who love them so dearly?

A woman was dropping off used clothes in one of the large, wooden donation bins stationed in large parking lots throughout the city used to help people in need. She heard distress cries coming from a plastic box wound shut with a cord. Trapped inside she discovered one of the most beautiful cats she had ever seen, with no food or water, not even a cloth for comfort, nor a note.    We named this girl Charity and she is debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.     Charity is a Ragdoll mix with tortoiseshell point coloring and she is about 10 years of age and spayed.    She is mellow, but her eyes reveal the trauma her soul endured by being so cruelly discarded.    Charity likes being petted and brushed, and she gets along well with other cats.    Please help us find her a home where she will only know peace and kindness from now on.

The Fairy Tale Puppies debut for adoption today!

Hank, baby boy. Juliette, baby girl. Monroe, baby boy. Nick, baby boy. Rosalee, baby girl. These five angelic and playful babies debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Juliette and Rosalee are girls.  Hank , Monroe , and Nick are boys. Their foster mom lovingly nicknamed them "The Fairy Tale Puppies" because she named them after TV show characters (Grimm show). Adaline , their mother, and her puppies were rescued when they were just 10 days old.  Their previous owner moved away without them.  We immediately placed them in nurturing foster care so that Adaline could raise them in a comfortable home environment.  The puppies have also been socialized with cats and rabbits. The Fairy Tale Puppies are now 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. Adaline is a Chihuahua & Jack Russell Terrier mix.  She is pictured below.  Adaline was spayed and adopted earlier this month.  The father of

Olivia Newton-John Puppies debuting for adoption today!

John, baby boy. Newton, baby boy. Olivia, baby girl. Sandy, baby girl. These four sweethearts are exceptionally docile and they have tremendous loving potential. They were at another shelter that asked for our help because of their timidity.  They need to gain self-esteem and confidence in an experienced, stable home environment. Olivia and Sandy are baby girls.  John and Newton are baby boys.  They are Australian Cattle Dog mixes, perhaps with Retriever & Bully, about 4-5 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are lovingly nicknamed the "Olivia Newton-John Puppies" and expected to grow to medium-size. The puppies can be adopted separately.  They may do best with a big brother or big sister dog to help them adjust. Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety.
