Can I count on you for my entire lifetime?

Elisa pines for love and adoration. She wants so much to give her whole heart to someone who will never betray her trust.  Elisa is a "Chug" -- Chihuahua & Pug mix -- spayed girl, about 5 years of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Elisa is reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, and good with kids.  She lost her previous home because she reportedly won't tolerate other dogs and wants to have people just for herself.  If you are looking for a dog who will be happy in a one-dog home, please come meet Elisa and give her consideration.

There's still time for me.

Tabitha is young at heart and surprisingly vibrant for 17 years of age.  She is quite affectionate too and fond of having soft conversations with you.  Tabitha is a lovely golden brown tabby, spayed girl, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  She was in a state of neglect at the time of rescue, but she has bounced back well with loving care and dental care.  Please help us find Tabitha a hero so she can spend her final years with love and dignity in a responsible home.

Amos & Andi, soul-mates needing a hero.

Image
Amos Andi Amos & Andi are a well-mannered, docile pair, so strongly bonded that they cuddle and sleep in each others' arms and gently bathe each other daily.  They needed us when their previous owner passed away.  They are a boy and girl, reportedly 13 years of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Amos & Andi get along fine with other cats and enjoy watching "cat TV" (looking out windows) from the safety and comfort of the indoors.  Please help us find Amos & Andi a hero for their twilight years.

Will you accept my unconditional love?

Jasper adores people and seeks a stable home with a relaxed lifestyle.  He is about 4 years of age, an attractive Toy Poodle, neutered boy, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Jasper has a low-grade heart murmur.  Medication is not needed at this time, but a routine free of exertion or temperature extremes is ideal.  We rescued Jasper from another shelter and his background is otherwise unknown.  He seems to get testy with other dogs, so being the only dog in the home may be best.  Please help find Jasper a hero.

A miracle for Romeo.

Image
Romeo, in his new courtyard This is truly a season of miracles and blessings for the animals.  One of them we must share with you is for Romeo , a senior boy who had been with us for months.  You may remember he was brutally surrendered after 13 years by his previous owner for having too much hair.  Last week, an angel on this Earth named Marcia , who has fostered and nurtured hundreds of motherless newborn kittens through the years, told her husband that adopting Romeo is all she wanted for Christmas.  Romeo is in heaven acting like a big brother to her cats and bonding with Marcia and her husband.  He walks slowly, but gets around fine in their home, courtyard, and casita because he at most only has to get up one small step.  Romeo is in his twilight months, but he will leave this world surrounded by kindness and knowing he is loved and appreciated.

Be kind to me and I will bless you with unwavering, unconditional love.

Ranger is ready to believe in people again and just asks for patience and tenderness.  If you kneel down, he will gently approach you and accept your kindness and petting.  Ranger is 18 months young, a neutered boy, a very attractive American Bulldog & Bully mix, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We rescued him from another shelter.  Ranger had old and fresh head wounds -- whether from human violence, canine attacks, or other causes is unknown -- but it's clear he had been enduring ongoing trauma.  Ranger needs to just see the best of human nature and human responsibility from now on.

How do I find someone to love me?

Image
Antigone is a very pretty young girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She became depressed after being surrendered to us by her previous owner (due to financial reasons), but volunteers and staff are helping her spirits recover and a spark of hope is finally coming back in her eyes.  Antigone is reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, and compatible with cats and dogs.  She is a Bully mix with a velvet-like coat, 2 years of age and now spayed.  A gentle, experienced home is needed for her continued progress.

Maddie and Ralphie

Image
Maddie, baby girl Ralphie, baby boy Maddie and Ralphie , sister and brother, were just one day old when we rescued them and their mother Rosemary , a Chihuahua.  We immediately placed mom and babies in a nurturing foster home so that Rosemary could raise and care for her babies in a home environment.  Maddie and Ralphie are now 5 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. Though their father is unknown, we expect both to remain small.  Maddie loves to snuggle after her play sessions and she enjoys being brushed. She can be shy at times, but she generally adores people and dogs. Ralphie is reportedly just as lazy as he is boisterous, according to his foster mom. Being the center of attention gives him great joy and he is very friendly. Ralphie loves to rest at your side after playing.

Patty Cake & Peter Piper

Image
Patty Cake & Peter Piper are very petite, precious babies debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  They are sister and brother, about 5 months of age, and now spayed/neutered. Both are shy, though they have been so cialized and raised in a foster home since their rescue.  We generally don't require puppies to be adopted together, but these two are so bonded that keeping them together forever is a necessity.  Peter Piper adores his sister, lays his head against her for reassurance, and follows in her footsteps throughout the house. Please follow this link to see a picture of their mother, Megan, a Yorkshire Terrier mix, and their two siblings who debuted for adoption earlier this month   (Note: Megan , Willey , and Wilson have already been adopted.)

Harlen and Spade

Image
Harlen, baby girl Spade, baby boy Harlen and Spade are very attractive and enchanting junior kittens now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  They are sister and brother, about 7 months of age, spayed/neutered.  Please kitten-proof your home for their safety. Harlen loves riding on your shoulders, while Spade loves running through the house and exploring every room.  Both kittens have been lovingly raised in a foster home around other cats and dogs.  Harlen and Spade can be adopted separately.

I need to know that everything is going to be okay for me.

Image
Tinsel is a kind junior puppy recovering from severe neglect and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a Toy Poodle mix, 9 months of age, a spayed girl, yearning for love and security.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard, as well as plan and budget for regular professional grooming. Tinsel is generally good with other dogs, except around food.  We believe she has experienced starvation, so she does not take food for granted, and needs to be fed treats and meals away from other dogs or children.  Tinsel's progress has already begun and she needs to continue blooming in an experienced home.

Can you see my potential?

Image
Dakota is a bright young boy with enormous loving potential.  He is very shy with strangers and worried he will get yelled at or scorned.  But this morning we talked to him quietly and told him that if he smiles for his picture that he will soon be in a terrific and gentle new home.  Dakota is 1 year of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a gold, blond & white Heinz 57 -- a unique blend of many breeds -- ready to give his whole heart to someone kind who will provide him with a stable, lifelong home.

Nani's Babies

Image
Baby Chubbs Two of Nani's babies -- Baby , a girl, and Chubbs , a boy -- are now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  They are 3 months of age and spayed/neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. Both have comical, playful personalities.  They have been well-socialized in a foster home and enjoy people and dogs. Their three siblings will be ready for adoption too in the days to come. Their mother, Nani , is a golden Bully mix and their father is unknown.  Nani has already been adopted.  Here is more information about Nani and her rescue.

Human kindness saved me and my babies.

Image
Nani adores people and she is deeply grateful to everyone who shows her kindness and compassion.  At the time of rescue this past summer, Nani was pregnant and found roaming near one of the busiest Vegas intersections.  We placed her in a nurturing foster home so that she could birth and raise her babies in a comfortable home environment.  ( Nani's five babies will soon be ready for adoption too.)  Nani is now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a lovely, gold & white Bully mix, 2 years young, reportedly housetrained, crate-trained, and compatible with some dogs.  Please help us find her a magnificent, stable, loving forever home.

I just don't want to be hurt again.

Image
Please help us find a hero for Theodore , who is a young boy with enormous loving potential, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Theodore sees humans as capable of violence and rage -- his head scars and timidity support the suspicions of a volunteer who rescued him from a home where he was suspected of being beaten with brooms and other objects.  So it is other dogs who give Theodore comfort and hope.  He is making some progress with us with trust, but finding a home with a big brother or big sister dog is key for his continued healing.  Theodore is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Retriever, about 2 years of age, now neutered and ready for an experienced and stable home where he sees only the best of human nature.

Gardenia

Image
Gardenia has volunteers and staff falling head-over-heels in admiration of her grace and tenderness.  She is a petite Pug, about 10 years of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and triumphantly debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue this angel was in terrible pain and shock from an unknown cause, surrendered by previous owners who said they could not afford any veterinary care for her.  We rushed Gardenia to a veterinary hospital for emergency treatment to try and save her.  The veterinarians determined she had a severe uterine infection (pyometra) and her life was saved with an emergency spay surgery.  Gardenia is now healed, feeling good and affectionate, and she's very ready to begin her new life in a loving, responsible, forever home.

Unconditional love is the greatest gift of all.

Isis has been waiting for a few months to be adopted.  She is an overlooked treasure, a lovely lady with a serene countenance, who would love to be in a forever home by Christmas.  Isis is great with other dogs and delights in snuggling and hiding under blankets.  She is a sable Chihuahua, about 5 years of age, spayed, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for what has to be one of the all-time best holiday portraits to help Isis win new consideration.

Maddie

Image
Update: We apologize.  We made a mistake this morning on this dog's identity.  The information below has now been corrected and we are sorry for the error. Maddie is an adorable, young blond Toy mix (blend of multiple Toy breeds) debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is about 2 years young, a neutered boy, good with other dogs and reportedly housetrained.  Maddie lost his previous home reportedly because he is not compatible with children.  Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming.

Polo & Oliver are 2 of the 10 rescued motherless kittens who need foster homes today.

Image
We urgently need foster homes for 10 rescued motherless kittens today.  If you are willing and able to foster, ideally two or more, please visit Nevada SPCA today before 4pm and ask for Lonnie. Polo & Oliver , the adorable baby brothers pictured here, were found outdoors, hungry, with their mom nowhere in sight.  These boys need foster care for approximately 6 weeks until they are old enough to be neutered and prepared for adoption. More on being a foster parent .

I may be old, but my love is rich and vibrant and pure.

Oscar needs a hero.  He's in his twilight years and asks only for kindness, compassion, and keeping his dignity.  Oscar is a Yellow Labrador Retriever, at least 10 years of age, a neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue he was at another shelter.  We had his teeth cleaned and he is now ready to join a loving, stable home.  Every day of life is precious.  There can be rich emotional rewards that come with adopting seniors and animals with special needs, giving them a heavenly life of love and comfort for the time they have remaining.  Will you please share Oscar's picture and help him get adopted?

Three very friendly ferrets debuting for adoption.

Image
Cassie Zeke Zorro Cassie , Zeke , and Zorro are well-socialized and good-natured ferrets seeking a loving, forever home. Ferrets are social animals and since these three get along so beautifully together, we strongly prefer to adopt them as a trio for lifelong companionship. Cassie is a lovely sable, girl, about 2 years of age.  She enjoys chasing toy balls and climbing on your shoulders. Zeke is a cute albino, boy, about 2 years of age.  He likes sleeping under blankets and hiding in cardboard boxes. Zorro is a handsome sable, boy, about 5 years of age.  He is mellow and wise, and loves napping in his hammock. Ferret knowledge is needed for their adoption.  All three are spayed/neutered. Please help us find them a wonderful, responsible owner.

I hope to never feel the sting of rejection again.

Image
Ellie is a beautiful, sensitive, 94-pound Great Dane debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is drawn to kind people, and as she warms to you she begins leaning against you and gently bonding.  Ellie is about 5 years of age and now spayed.  She seems to be fine with some large dogs, but we do not yet know if she is compatible with small dogs.  Great Dane knowledge is needed for her adoption. All we can say for certain about Ellie's past is that she is recovering from heartbreak and had been in an inadequate, irresponsible home.  The person who surrendered her said she found Ellie abandoned in the desert, but this person's vitriolic conduct suggested to us that there may have been more to the story.  Regardless, Ellie deserves better and cannot be saddled with the failings of the people who have had her before.  The stitches on the top left side of her head are from the removal and repair of a growth and wound.  Please help us find Ellie a responsible

I'm not perfect, but my love is.

Image
Please help us find a hero for Baby . He is a small, but very overweight Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog), about 10 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued this angel from another shelter. Baby appears to have been eating "table scraps" (left-over human food) for years, resulting in obesity and large patches of hair loss (from malnutrition).  We have had extensive testing done on Baby at a veterinary hospital and he is free of thyroid problems. He is making some improvements on a proper canine diet of premium food and we are hoping for and expecting more good changes for his health and body as a result. Baby gets along well with other dogs and he is exceptionally sweet and humble with people.

I look to you for kindness and safety.

Fergie is so grateful for a tender touch and kind words of comfort that she will cover your chin and cheeks with doggie kisses.  She is a lovable young girl, a Bully mix, 3 years of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Fergie was found last month in poor condition near one of the busiest intersections in Las Vegas with no sign of responsible ownership.  She had missed many meals, so she may have been trying to survive on her own on the streets for some time.  Fergie is protective of food, but this behavior can diminish in time in an experienced home where she comes to understand that she will never again know starvation and desperate hunger.  Please help us find her a wonderful, responsible, loving forever home.

Please be patient with us.

Willey, baby boy Wilson, baby boy Willey and Wilson are baby brothers who look like tiny deer. The boys are very bashful and still need to gain self-esteem and confidence.  An experienced and patient home is needed for their continuing blooming. At the time of rescue this past summer they were newborns at another shelter that asked for our help.  We rescued their mother too, a Yorkshire Terrier mix named Megan (pictured below), and their two other siblings.  We placed them in a loving foster home so that Megan could raise her babies in peace and comfort. Megan has since been spayed and adopted earlier this autumn.  Also, their two siblings will be ready for adoption in the days to come. Willey and Wilson are now 5 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We can only speculate about their father, but believe he is likely to be a Chihuahua.  Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety. We strongly prefer adopting the

I can be your little angel too.

Image
Mister's previous mom went into hospice this past autumn.  Wherever she is now, we hope she knows her shining little boy is happy, safe, and beaming with spirit.  Mister needs a new home and he's ready to share his joy and love.  He is a Cairn Terrier mix, about 8 years of age, neutered, housetrained, crate-trained, and good with cats & children & dogs.  Please visit Nevada SPCA and ask for Mister by name.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing his sunny optimism in these portraits.

Fall in love with me.

Image
Skylar is a captivating baby boy with an affectionate nature and he debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a super cute blue-grey & white Bully mix, about 4 months of age and now neutered.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his safety. Skylar loves playful dogs and people.  At the time of rescue he was found abandoned and tied to a post behind a veterinary hospital.  Please be fully committed to providing him with kind guidance and dog training to help him learn good behaviors.

I was waiting for them to return for me.

Image
Damon's spirit is rebounding beautifully and he is now ready to join a loving, forever home.  He is a Toy Poodle, about 6 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Damon enjoys other dogs and he is drawn to gentle people.  At the time of rescue he was found cowering in a Las Vegas street where he was nearly struck by vehicles.  He was in very poor and matted condition, and understandably terrified.  (Sometimes dogs who are abandoned in the middle of roads will remain there or return there expecting their previous owners to come back for them.)  Damon is now shaved down for a fresh start, eating premium food, and he's so grateful for everyone's kindness.

I wish I could tell you how much I love you.

Image
Luna is a captivating baby girl who has made a tremendous recovery and she triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue she was at another shelter with a very severe hip injury, perhaps due to a long fall from a stairway or roof, and some neurological damage.  Thanks to generous donors for advanced medical care, we had hip surgery for Luna , and she is recovering better than expected.  Volunteers have patiently taken her for slow walks, helping her get her coordination back.  Luna may not fully recover normal walking, but she is getting around now quite well without pain or discomfort.  Luna is a junior puppy, a Bully mix with a beautiful spirit, about 9 months of age and spayed.  Luna loves people with all of her heart and seems to get along well with other dogs.
