There's a reason for my especially brilliant smile.

Boomer is a radiant young Foxhound mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

He is about 2 years of age, a neutered boy, reportedly housetrained and fine with other friendly dogs.

We believe Boomer has been the victim of abuse, but he has tremendous loving potential and we're seeking an experienced home for his continuing emotional recovery.

We rescued Boomer from another shelter with literally moments to spare.

He was all frowns initially, but he is now giving us his brilliant smiles and we're so happy to see his new-found vitality!

Feeling safe and being safe are of utmost importance to me.

Sierra was found in the middle of a Vegas road sitting closely beside the body of a deceased dog, presumed to be her sister.  She had no sign of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not spayed).

Sierra is a calm-natured girl and as a volunteer noted, "she has human-like eyes that have seen too much".

Please help us find a gentle and responsible home for her, ideally becoming a canine sister to another dog who is lonely.

Sierra is a Chihuahua, about 6 years of age and now spayed.

I adore you and I want to learn everything about you.

Hanson is an inquisitive boy with a heart of gold and he watches you closely to learn your behaviors, wishes, and priorities.

He wants the peace-of-mind that comes with knowing you 'belong' with those around you.

Hanson is an attractive Jack Russell Terrier mix, 10 years of age, neutered, housetrained, good with dogs and kids, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing his spirit in this handsome portrait.

I can be your very own Snow Leopard for life.

Snow Leopard is a majestic baby boy who loves being held and adored.  He enjoys chasing balls and playing with other cats.

Snow Leopard is a Lynx Point Siamese kitten, now 4 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please kitten-proof your home for his safety.

He has been lovingly raised and socialized in a foster home since his rescue.  Snow Leopard was a newborn when he was found in a trash can outside of a grocery store.

Please visit and ask for this little prince by name.

Elsa, a gorgeous young Dutch bunny with a serene spirit.

Elsa is a gorgeous young Dutch bunny with a serene spirit.

She is just under 2 years of age, now spayed and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Elsa would love to have a sister rabbit for lifelong companionship.  If you have a female bunny, please bring her so they can safely and quietly meet in our Lovebugs Room.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these elegant portraits to help Elsa find a loving, stable, indoor-only, forever home.

Elsa needed us when her previous owner just no longer wanted her.  Elsa deserves better.

I may be 14, but I am still a wonderful nanny.

Serenity is very nurturing and maternal.  She delights in mothering and grooming other dogs, or occasionally a stuffed animal toy.

Serenity is also good with cats and children, plus housetrained and crate-trained.

Serenity is nearly 14 years of age, a butterscotch & white Bully mix, spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

She may not be as spunky as she once was, but she still loves a good game of fetch.

Please help Serenity find a hero so she can spend her twilight years in dignity, and with love and comfort and peace-of-mind.

Powder Puff and her "Snow-White Kittens" debuting for adoption today!

Powder Puff, mother of the Snow-White Kittens
Powder Puff and her 5 babies, nicknamed the "Snow-White Kittens," debut for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.
Barnaby, baby boy
Daytona, baby boy
Elwood, baby boy
Kat, baby girl
Libby, baby girl
Powder Puff, who looks like a kitten herself, is just 2 years of age.  At the time of rescue this summer she was found on the streets and pregnant.

We placed Powder Puff in a loving foster home so she could birth and raise her babies in a comfortable, safe home environment.  As a result, all of her kittens are well-socialized (with cats and dogs and people) and well-balanced emotionally.

Powder Puff is now spayed.  Her Snow-White Kittens are now 4 months of age and spayed/neutered.  She has three boys (Barnaby, Daytona, and Elwood) and two girls (Kat and Libby).

Here is more personality information on each:

Powder Puff: She is chatty and social and loves making "happy feet" on the blankets beside you.

Barnaby: He adores dogs and gives people kitten kisses.

Daytona: He likes being held.  He reportedly enjoyed walking underneath the dogs and tickling their bellies with his tail.

Elwood: He is the only one who has dark hazel eyes.  He loves playing with his siblings.

Kat: She has a blue eye and a hazel eye.  She is fascinated by people and enjoys cuddling.

Libby: She is a very happy girl who purrs heartily and loves everyone she meets.

Powder Puff and her Snow-White Kittens can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

I am back in my prime, shining brightly!

Raven was at another shelter that asked for our help so she could recover from starvation.

She is heartily eating premium food and treats and she has gained 5 pounds in the past 4 weeks.  Raven is still very slender, but her progress can now continue in a loving, forever home.

She is a charming blend of Labrador Retriever & Border Collie, 2 years young, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Raven is blessed with a fun-loving temperament, a dazzling smile, and beautiful blue sunbursts in both eyes.

The "Forever Home Kittens" debut for adoption today!

Camaro

Mustang

Porsche

P.T.
These four babies were rescued from the streets, their mother nowhere in sight.

We placed them in a loving foster home for socialization and nurturing care.  They now trust people -- adults and mature kids -- and they are not afraid of other cats.

The "Forever Home Kittens" are now 4 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  The girls are P.T. (a silver & brown tabby) and Porsche (a ticked tabby).  The boys are Camaro (a spotted tabby) and Mustang (an orange tabby).

Camaro is very social and likes following you from room to room.

Mustang is shy and independent, with a gentle presence.

P.T. is the most playful and outgoing.  She loves chasing laser lights.

Porsche is very affectionate and loves cuddling in your lap and sleeping under the covers.

These babies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong companionship.

They need indoor-only, stable homes.  Please kitten-proof your home for their safety.

I had lost the will to live, but my spirit is now revived.

Manchester would love to become your very own little panther.  He is exceptionally gentle and calm-natured.

Manchester nearly died from a broken heart -- after being abandoned in a taped-up hooded litter box he continually refused to eat and we had to take emergency measures.

But volunteers and staff have done a wonderful job encouraging him to become hopeful, and he's now eating well and thriving.

Manchester is 2 years young, a sleek shorthair with stunning eyes, neutered boy, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this handsome portrait to help him find a loving, stable, indoor-only, forever home.

My neck has healed so well, but my heart still hurts.

Douglas, debuting for adoption October 24
Douglas has been healing for 10 weeks.  Today, he triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

He is a very sensitive, 9-pound, 9-year-old Chihuahua & Toy Fox Terrier mix, now neutered.

Douglas is good with other dogs and housetrained.

Douglas was reportedly abused for years by both adults and children.  At the time of rescue, in August, he had a large, jagged laceration across the right half of his neck and his wound was severely infected.

The veterinarian who saved his life said the cut was consistent with being from a knife or from having his head stuck in something sharp.

We have decided against publishing the picture of his open wound.  Instead, below, we have included two pictures of him healing in September, the staples showing the outline of the long cut.

Understandably, Douglas is very wary of strangers.  But we are proud of him for accepting our care and maintaining hope despite all he has endured.

Please help us find Douglas a hero who will provide him with a serene, stable, and very loving home where he never again has to fear screaming or violence.

Douglas, healing, September 17

Douglas, September 17, a view of the back of his neck

The world may be lonely and chaotic, but you can always count on me.

Christian is a junior kitten who enjoys games of hide-and-seek, playing with your hair, and purring in your arms.

He is fascinated by people and their behaviors, always trying to learn and understand.

Christian is an adorable brown tabby, under 1 year of age, good with cats, now neutered and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. He was rescued after being abandoned on the streets.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing his spirit so perfectly in this portrait.

Lexy, a gorgeous blue-eyed girl who triumphantly survived severe burning.

At the time of rescue Lexy had painful burn marks across her whole back (from an unknown cause).

For many weeks now she has been treated by veterinarians and recovering well.  Lexy now has hair growing back and even her scarring is minimal.

Today, she triumphantly debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Lexy loves to jump in laps for affection.  She enjoys napping in the coziest cat beds and looking out the window ("cat TV").

She is a gorgeous blend of many breeds -- perhaps Ragdoll, Siamese, and Snowshoe -- about 4 years of age and spayed.

Donnie & Marie debuting for adoption today!

Donnie, photographed this morning

Marie, photographed this morning
We rescued newborn kittens "Donnie & Marie" back in July after finding them outdoors alone without their mother.  (Below, we have included their picture at the time of rescue.)

Donnie and Marie are now 5 months of age, wonderfully socialized thanks to loving foster care, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Donnie is a docile baby boy who loves to snuggle.

Marie is outgoing and loves greeting people and catnapping in soft, cozy cat beds.

We prefer adopting them together.  Donnie likes to follow Marie around and they have a special bond.

Please help us find them a loving, stable, indoor-only, forever home.

Donnie & Marie, in July at the time of rescue

Ladonna, a chocolate Yorkshire Terrier mix puppy ready to bloom.

Ladonna is a precious baby girl who doesn't yet understand that she is safe.

She is a Yorkshire Terrier mix puppy with a wavy, chocolate coat, about 4 months of age, good with other dogs, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Ladonna will bloom in a stable, gentle home environment.

We do not know what she has endured, but she was found terrified on the Vegas streets with no sign of responsible ownership.

Please help us find her a forever home where she can reach her full loving potential.

My heart just cannot break again.

Von cannot understand a world where those he loves unconditionally keep getting rid of him due to no fault of his own.

He is wary to give his heart again, but he wants to know the bliss and peace-of-mind that comes from being cherished and valued in a stable, loving home.

Von is a Chi-Weenie (Chihuahua & Dachshund mix), about 7 years of age, neutered boy, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Von is good with other dogs and drawn to gentle people.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for these endearing portraits to help Von find a lifelong hero.

What does a loving home feel like? Will all my worries go away?

Tony wants to know what a loving home feels like.

Just as his picture was being taken we were telling him how happy he is going to be and that he has to keep up his spirits.

Tony is a thoughtful young Pomeranian & Shiba Inu mix, 2 years of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Tony likes other gentle dogs.

At the time of rescue he was at another shelter with small leg wounds consistent with bites from another animal.  Tony is healing well and now ready for a wonderful, forever home.

Sherry, a rescued Border Collie mix puppy building self-esteem.

Sherry is a very timid baby girl, sensitive and gentle.  She is a Border Collie mix puppy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Sherry is approximately 7 months of age, spayed, and expected to grow to medium size.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety.

She is good with other dogs and a big brother or big sister dog may help her adjust.

At the time of rescue Sherry was at another shelter that asked for our help because of her timidity.

An experienced, stable home is ideal, where she can build her self-esteem and socialization.

"The Cat Dancer Kittens" are now ready for adoption!

Cola, baby girl

Darin, baby girl

Graphite, baby boy

Pastel, baby girl
These four playful, sweetheart babies were rescued from the mean streets.  We placed them in a loving foster home for nurturing care and socialization with people and other cats.

They are now approximately 3-4 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please kitten-proof your home for their safety.

They are nicknamed "The Cat Dancer Kittens" because the cat dancers are their favorite toys.

Their foster mom said the following about their personalities:

Cola is ready for affection the moment you wake up.  She loves being held and gives "kitty massages" with her paws.

Darin relishes her toys so much that she can often be seen carrying them around in her mouth from room to room.

Graphite is "the supervisor" and always wants to know what is going on.

Pastel is the shy one of the bunch, content to meet people after her sisters and brother have already checked them out.  A gentle home is ideal for her.

These babies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

Foster heroes needed today please for numerous rescued newborns!

Foster homes are urgently needed today for rescued motherless kittens, mama dogs with newborn puppies, and motherless puppies.  If you can help, please visit Nevada SPCA before 5pm today.

Baby Andre, pictured here, was rescued from the Vegas streets where he was on his own and in peril, with no sign whatsoever of responsible ownership.  He is a super cute Chihuahua puppy, about 8 weeks of age.  Baby Andre is so grateful for kindness that he will shower your face with puppy kisses when you talk sweetly.  Baby Andre needs loving foster care and socialization for approximately 4-6 weeks until he is old enough to be neutered and prepared for adoption.

Cambridge, a rescued Shiba Inu finding new hope and joy.

Cambridge was found, forlorn and disoriented, on the streets without any sign of responsible ownership.  A kind couple saved him from getting struck by a vehicle.

Cambridge is so happy to get a fresh start and the jolly side of his personality is beginning to be revealed.

He is a handsome, plump Shiba Inu, about 9 years of age, a neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Cambridge is good with other dogs and reportedly compatible with mature kids.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for capturing his brightening spirit in this portrait to help him find a responsible, loving, forever home.

This is the look of adoration!

Craig was getting his picture taken this morning when he suddenly saw one of his favorite volunteers and his eyes lit up, beaming with joy.

Craig is often smiling here, perhaps because it's likely the first time he has had regular meals and treats, or been spoken to kindly.

His past is unknown, except that he was dumped outside a veterinary clinic in poor condition.

Craig is now thriving, eating premium food, bursting with hope and anticipation for his bright future.

He is an athletic Bully mix with beautiful mocha coloring, 2 years young, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Quigley, a young English Bulldog who needs a responsible, forever home.

Quigley is a very good-natured and engaging young boy debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

He is a super cute English Bulldog, 1 year of age and now neutered.  Quigley is reportedly housetrained and good with dogs and mature kids.

He was surrendered to us by a family who found him on the Vegas streets with no sign at all of responsible ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, not neutered).  The family spent several days trying to find Quigley's previous owner, to no avail.

Please help us find Quigley a responsible home where he will always be safe and cherished.  English Bulldog knowledge is strongly preferred for his adoption.

Foxy, a rescued Lynx Point Siamese: "I am now homeless, yet another innocent victim of a cruel myth."

Foxy is an incredibly gorgeous and shy young girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

She is a Lynx Point Siamese, 2 years of age, spayed, and good with other friendly cats.

Unfortunately, like so many other gentle cats who do absolutely nothing wrong, Foxy was surrendered by her previous owners because they were having a baby. (Many people still believe cats intentionally hurt babies.)

Foxy yearns for kindness and stability in a loving, indoor-only, forever home.

Doesn't anyone want me?

Oscar, who was rescued early this past summer from another shelter, has since watched thousands of other dogs get adopted.

He cannot understand why he is getting overlooked, especially with being so loving and friendly and humble.

Oscar is an adorable Chihuahua mix, about 8 years of age, a neutered boy, great with other dogs, available for adoption at Nevada SPCA.

Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this heart-melting portrait to help Oscar find a forever home.

Gentle spirits asking only for kindness -- a special moment captured.

Glory and Byron were both at Pet'ographique yesterday for portraits.  Though rescued separately, and available for adoption separately, this magical moment of two gentle spirits meeting was captured and we want to share it with you.

Glory is a lively & gorgeous young Dutch mix bunny, just 8 months of age, a spayed girl, ready for adoption in Nevada SPCA's Lovebugs Room.

Byron is a very petite Chihuahua, 10 years of age, neutered boy, great with other dogs, and he longs to be loved.
