Mindi survived being hit by a car and now triumphantly debuts for adoption!

Image
At the time of rescue, Mindi was at another shelter and she had been hit by a car.  We took her to a veterinary hospital and her right hind leg was too badly broken to be saved.  But Mindi is adjusting well to life on three legs, living in the moment, now bouncy and peppy to be feeling better and having a fresh start for a better life and future.  Mindi is a 7-pound angel, a pretty Miniature Pinscher, 1 year young, spayed girl, good with other dogs, triumphantly debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Special thanks to donors to Nevada SPCA's advanced medical care fund for making her rescue & rehabilitation possible.

Godiva is recovering from near starvation and needs a hero.

Image
Foster home needed please!  Godiva , a Bully mix rescued earlier this month from starvation, needs a new foster home for continuing tender loving care and recovery.  Her previous foster mom did a beautiful job with her, helping her gain more than 5 pounds in just the past two weeks.  Godiva has now gained 11 pounds since her rescue (31 pounds to 42 pounds)!  She is standing up better, wagging her tail every time she sees a familiar face, and beginning to give us some smiles.  Perhaps due in part to her near death from extreme emaciation, Godiva is diabetic and requires daily insulin shots.  If you can foster Godiva , please visit Nevada SPCA today before 5pm and ask for DJ.  Thank you in advance for sharing this post to help Godiva find a hero.

Powder Puff is one of the rescued, pregnant cats who needs a foster home ASAP!

Image
We need foster homes today please for rescued pregnant cats who could give birth at any time. Powder Puff , pictured here is a petite, pregnant girl, about 18 months of age, a snow-white sweetheart with sky blue eyes and a gentle demeanor.  She was rescued from the streets. We have a second rescued pregnant cat today too, named Snowy Coconut , who needs a loving, comfortable home environment to birth and raise her babies. For either mom, this is approximately a 3-month foster commitment, ideally in a peaceful room in your home (like a spare bedroom or bathroom). Please visit Nevada SPCA before 5pm today and ask for Lonnie if you can help.

Can I give you a hug?

Image
Nascar is in heaven with all of his attention here, running into the arms of volunteers and staff for big hugs.  He is a very attractive puppy, a Belgian & German Shepherd mix, about 9 months of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Nascar is starving for attention because he was unwanted and unloved in his previous home, kept on a long cord.  One of our volunteers discovered him posted on a classified ads web site, his previous owner threatening to take him to a "kill shelter" if no one came for him immediately.  Please give him kind guidance, a stable lifestyle routine, basic training, and an abundance of love and attention!

China Doll's remarkable transformation!

Image
China Doll was so matted and filthy she had sores on her skin.  She was at another shelter and needed dental care too.  We rescued her and one of our staff took her home (as a foster parent) to clean her up and begin her emotional healing.  (We also had dental care provided for her.)  China Doll's transformation has been remarkable, so you'll excuse our exuberance with pampering her in ribbons and a dress.  China Doll is a 5-pound angel, a Toy Poodle, 18 months young, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She likes to dance, be held in your lap, and snuggle up in blankets.  We never want China Doll to feel forgotten or worthless again.

Was I nothing more than a child's disposable toy?

Image
Delilah is so petite she hardly resembles a bunny.  But she is a Lionhead rabbit, about 18 months of age, spayed girl, now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA in our Lovebugs Room. Delilah is a tad shy with strangers, but warm-hearted with those she knows and trusts. She needed us when the child in her previous home reportedly "lost interest" in her. Special thanks to Pet'ographique for showcasing her so beautifully in these portraits to help her find a loving, forever home where her survival does not depend on the whim of a young child.

I behaved perfectly, yet still become homeless. This is unjust and heartbreaking.

Image
Tiny, 6-pound Ringo , a sweetheart with expressive eyes and a heart of gold, debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is so devoted to those he bonds with that it's especially imperative nobody ever fails him again.  Despite his ear tattoo and being "de-barked" by previous owners, he finds himself homeless at 6 years of age due to no fault of his own.  Ringo is good with dogs and cats and older kids, plus reportedly housetrained and crate-trained too.  He is a cute Chihuahua, neutered boy, yearning for the stability and comfort of a responsible, forever home.

Can I always be your baby, even when I'm no longer a puppy?

Image
Bjork is a precious baby girl debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. She is incredibly cute and affectionate, a small Toy & Terrier mix, about 9 months of age and now spayed.  Please puppy-proof your home for her safety and protection. Bjork is terrific with other dogs.  She is one of a group of puppies mysteriously found together on the streets, none with any sign whatsoever of responsible ownership (all are safe, rescued).  We suspect Bjork needs basic training, so an experienced home is best for her, ideally with at least one other dog for her to bond with as a big sister or big brother.

Angel, a heavenly Ragdoll with hypnotic blue eyes and a gentle spirit.

Image
Angel is a mellow, exceptionally handsome boy who longs for a loving, forever home.  He is a Ragdoll with a gentle spirit and entrancing blue eyes, previously declawed, about 9 years of ge, neutered, and ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Angel became homeless due to no fault of his own (his previous owners had a financial crisis).  Please ask for Angel specifically by name when you visit.  Special thanks to Pet'ographique for this remarkable portrait that captures his personality so beautifully.

Can you count all of my toes?

Image
Cadbury's extra toes may help him give even better hugs!  Cadbury is a spunky kitten, about 10 months of age, polydactyl on all four paws, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He loves other cats and he is fascinated by playing with shoe laces.  Before his rescue, Cadbury was witnessed being thrown from a car.  Please kitten-proof your home for his safety.

I'm watching you carefully, always learning.

Image
Anthony is an inquisitive baby boy with charming eyes suggesting wisdom far beyond what his few months on Earth could bring. He is a cream & white Bully mix, 4 months of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  We expect Anthony to grow to medium size. Please provide him with kind guidance, a stable lifestyle routine, and basic training. Another shelter asked for our help with Anthony because they feared he was ill.  (He wasn't.) Anthony is a playful, friendly puppy ready to join a loving, forever home.

Are you telling me that I am worthy of being loved?

Image
Haley is a very endearing girl who loves soaking up attention and adoration. She seems like she is not used to hearing compliments and words of encouragement, so it is beautiful watching her awaken to feeling valued.  Haley is a lovely Tibetan Terrier mix, 1 year young, spayed, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is good with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming of her long coat.  We rescued Haley from another shelter to treat her ear infection.  She is now well and ready for a loving, forever home.

If a gentle spirit speaks to you, will you then please come meet me?

Image
Delilah loves back scratches and gentle brushing.  She is a gorgeous calico medium-hair, 2 years young, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Delilah is exceptional with other cats and does best with soft-spoken people.  At the time of rescue she and her four babies were on the streets, trying to fend for themselves.  Delilah's babies have since been fostered, spayed/neutered, and adopted.  It's now mom's turn to find a loving, forever home too.

How do I find a human who will not quit me?

Image
Raven is a gorgeous, devoted girl with many tremendous qualities, despite having been failed repeatedly by past owners.  She loved them unconditionally, but they rejected her, and so it's no surprise that she now may have separation anxiety, fearful of abandonment forever when you leave her sight.  There are no instant fixes for separation anxiety, but with time and a stable routine, and possibly crate-training, great improvements can be made.  Raven is a German Shepherd with a majestic appearance, about 6 years of age, spayed, good with cats and dogs, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please help Raven find a hero.

Jordache & Halston are making a comeback!

Image
Jordache & Halston are sophisticated, enchanting loverboys who crave attention and affection.  They are handsome Pekingeses, approximately 4-5 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. Jordache & Halston are good with other dogs and need regular professional grooming.  They were rescued from a neglectful home where they were banished to live outdoors only, day and night, which is completely unacceptable.  But the boys still believe in people and long to become valued, cherished members of a loving and attentive family.

The Windsor Kittens debut for adoption today!

Image
Anne Earl Harry Anne and her two brothers, Earl and Harry , are nicknamed "The Windsor Kittens" for their regal names and appearances. These babies are Siamese mixes with stunning blue eyes, now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. We rescued their mother, Candise , pictured below, who was found on the streets, in labor, having complications giving birth.  We rushed Candise to a veterinary hospital for emergency surgery and the veterinarians were able to save Candise and her babies. Candise and her kittens were kept together in a loving foster home for nurturing, tender loving care and socialization. Candise has since been spayed and adopted. Anne loves being adored and she favors spinning toys and soft cat beds. Earl is a sporty athlete, always ready for adventure and exploration of new rooms in the house. Harry is outgoing, exceptionally playful, and perhaps the most mischievous. Please kitten

A saint who needs a hero.

Image
What better compliment than saying someone makes others feel welcome and at ease?  This is why Zeus is such a magnificent boy, a very convivial and gracious senior.  Zeus is a Rottweiler mix, at least 10 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is exceptional with other dogs and even very shy, insecure dogs can feel renewed and at peace in his presence.  But Zeus needs a hero, because his hips are weak, so walks need to be brief and leisurely, and his bedding very soft and comfy.  Please help us find him a loving home where he can spend his final months or years with dignity and grace, maintaining his bright spirit, which we believe is a blessing to everyone he meets.

Will you let me share my joy and enthusiasm with you?

Image
Haley is a sparkling pup with a lustrous personality and golden eyes, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She is a medium-size (35 pounds) Heinz 57, perhaps with Retriever & Bully, 11 months of age and spayed.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for her safety. Haley will likely do best with an active lifestyle routine and please give her kind guidance and basic training.  Animal rescuers alerted us about Haley , who at the time of rescue was at another shelter, and there were concerns there about her being too rambunctious.  Our experience though is that she is just an exuberant, sunny girl anxious to begin her new life as soon as possible.

The Peppy Puppies debut for adoption today!

Image
Jackie Maddy Moe Moe , and his sisters, Jackie and Maddy , are lovingly nicknamed "The Peppy Puppies" and they are now ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. These angels were just a week of age at the time of rescue.  Their mother, named Joy (who is also ready for adoption and pictured below), and two other adult dogs were rescued too.  Their previous owner said he "can't deal with them". We put The Peppy Puppies immediately into foster care, along with their mom, so that they could be raised and socialized in the comfort of a loving home environment. The Peppy Puppies are now 3 months of age, spayed/neutered, and ready for forever homes.  We believe they are a blend of Beagle, Dachshund, and Spaniel, so we expect them to grow to medium size. The babies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair, or the trio, for lifelong companionship. Joy , their mother, is also now spayed, about 3 years of age, a Longhair Dachs

Max is one of hundreds of sweet, rescued animals awaiting adoption this Memorial Day Weekend.

Image
Max is one of hundreds of rescued animals awaiting a loving, forever home this holiday weekend.  Memorial Day Weekend adoption hours are: 11am-5pm Friday, 11am-5pm Saturday, closed Sunday, 11am-4pm Monday. Max is a good-natured little trooper, a Longhair Chihuahua mix with hazel eyes and a steady grin, 1 year young, neutered boy, ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA. Max is good with dogs, housetrained and crate-trained, and he just wants to be loved and appreciated.  He gets attached to his special blankets, that help him feel safe and cozy.  Max needed us because young children make him anxious.  A gentle home is ideal for him.

You can help me realize my full loving potential.

Image
Chewy is a very endearing young boy who loves his doggie beds and belly rubs.  But his soul has been wounded from abuse and neglect, so we ask for your help in finding him a hero.  Trust will take time and patience in an experienced, stable, adult-only home.  Chewy is an attractive Lhasa Apso, 18 months of age, neutered, and ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  He is afraid of mops and brooms, loud people, unfamiliar men, young kids, and people who reach at him quickly.  Volunteers have helped him feel more secure and his progress needs to continue in his forever home.  Chewy has enormous potential!

Honor our strong bond by adopting us together.

Image
These strongly bonded boys -- Spirit & Kody -- glow with kindness and devotion.  They have many remarkable qualities, including great intelligence, affable personalities, and compatibility with children, cats, and dogs.  Spirit is a White Shepherd and Kody is a German Shepherd.  Both boys are 7-9 years of age, neutered, housetrained, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Spirit & Kody are soul-mates and need to remain together forever.  At the time of rescue they were found living in a neglected condition in a garage.  Please help us find these boys a loving home where they will be cherished and adored, not banished or considered a nuisance.

My love is forever, so why was their's temporary?

Image
Butch Cassidy is a sweetheart pup who had reportedly been handed around from person-to-person.  He can't make out what all this chaos is about, but we're telling him that the "musical chairs" is finally over and that we'll find him a stable, committed, loving home for life.  Butch Cassidy longs to bond with people, so while shy initially, he warms up quickly and flashes a winning smile.  He is a Labrador Retriever mix with stunning red coloring and a beautiful blue sunburst in his left eyes.  Butch Cassidy is 10 months of age, neutered, reportedly good with dogs, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Please puppy-proof your home and yard for his protection.

I look for the best in people and other dogs.

Image
Happy is a jubilant young boy with a dazzling smile and rosy outlook on life.  He is an exceptionally attractive, tri-color Pomeranian mix, about 3 years of age, neutered, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Happy enjoys other dogs and needs regular brushing (especially for his mane).  His background is mostly unknown, except that he was confiscated from a home by a police officer.  Please help us find him the best of homes where he never loses his innocence.

The world better watch out for me!

Image
"I am fully recovered, feeling renewed, and now the world better watch out for me!"  We think these would be baby Ted's words if he could speak, having triumphantly survived and made a full recovery from parvo.  He was in peril at the time of rescue and very weak, but now he is bursting with energy and enthusiasm, and he loves meeting people and having as much playtime as possible.  Ted is a chocolate & white Bully mix puppy with golden eyes, about 6 months of age, neutered boy, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Special thanks to donors to our advanced medical care fund for making his treatment and rehabilitation possible.

Why was I rejected at 11 years of age?

Image
Why was this 11-year-old boy with cloudy eyes wandering the streets, lost and perplexed?  Rascal was saved before physical harm could come his way and his emotional harm is no longer evident. In fact, he keeps a sunny outlook and has bonde d closely with several volunteers and staff.  Rascal is a medium-size Australian Shepherd & Retriever mix, neutered boy, ready for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Rascal is exceptionally sweet, kind, and thoughtful, and great with other dogs. Please help him find a hero who will cherish him during his twilight years.

Can I have a stable, loving home for my entire life?

Image
Luey adores people and he holds onto you tightly in your arms, giving you a kitten lick or nuzzle from time to time.  He is a super cute and sweet baby boy, an orange tabby shorthair, about 3 months of age, now neutered and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Please kitten-proof your home and yard for his safety. Luey is one of a litter of five rescued newborns who have been raised and socialized in a foster home.  Three of his siblings were adopted on Saturday, but Luey and his brother Dewey (also an orange tabby baby boy) still await loving, forever homes of their own.

I am as gentle as a baby, yet wise and well-behaved.

Image
Adopting senior dogs, like Cricket , can bring unsuspecting emotional rewards, along with immense gratitude and unconditional love.  Cricket was at another shelter and needed dental cleaning.  We rescued him, had his teeth cleaned (and one extraction), and he is now ready for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  Cricket is a mellow Pekingese, about 10 years of age, neutered boy, and good with other dogs.  We love his sweet soul.  Please plan and budget for regular professional grooming care for Cricket .

Bobbie Sox has the face of an angel.

Image
Bobbie Sox has the most luminous smile and the face of an angel. She is very shy with new people, but incredibly devoted once she trusts you, and then she wants to be right at your side or in your lap.  Bobbie Sox adores other dogs!  She enjoys playing catch with her favorite ball and chasing birds out of the backyard.  Bobbie Sox is a medium-size Heinz 57 with Bully & Retriever, about 7-8 years of age, spayed girl, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  She needed us when her previous owner passed away.

My mommy was gone and the electricity was out. I wondered if there was any hope for me.

Image
Agatha is a very elegant, easy-going girl who softly meows for attention and reassurance.  She is a gorgeous blue, cream & white (dilute calico) longhair, about 6 years of age, spayed, good with cats, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Agatha's previous owner became critically ill and needed long-term hospitalization and hospice.  Her home had the power shut off and Agatha lived inside without electricity for one month, while others brought her food and water.  She was understandably traumatized and distraught at the time of rescue, but volunteers and staff have succeeded in helping her feel comfortable and reassured.

Will you let me bless you with my unconditional love?

Image
Cameron has human-like eyes, pleading to make a connection, and he is baffled why he was abandoned on evicted property and then taken to another shelter.  We rescued this sweet young boy and promised him that brighter days are ahead.  Cameron debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  All of the staff and volunteers spending time with him comment on his immense charm.  Cameron is 2 years of age, a blend of American Bulldog and other Bully breeds, approximately 50 pounds, neutered, and very affectionate with people.

The safety and comfort of the indoors, being loved, is my dream life.

Image
Today, Patricia is at peace, healthy, and she can look forward to a full life with love and hope.  She is a gorgeous, humble golden brown tabby without a tail, 2 years young, now spayed and debuting for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of her rescue earlier this spring, she was in dire peril, found on the streets, in labor and unable to give birth to her babies.  Patricia was understandably in extreme distress and we raced her to a veterinary hospital for emergency surgery to save her life.  It was too late for her babies, but her veterinarians say Patricia has made a full recovery, physically and emotionally.  Patricia prefers the quiet life, lounging on her cat bed and watching the others play and be rambunctious.  Please help us find Patricia a gentle, stable, indoor-only home where she never again faces danger or heartbreak.

I feel like a brand new puppy again!

Image
We love seeing Aztec , a loving baby boy, feeling so peppy, renewed, and rejuvenated!  He is a very cute Manchester Terrier mix, 7 months of age, neutered, good with dogs, and debuting triumphantly for adoption at Nevada SPCA.  At the time of rescue Aztec was weak and dangerously ill with parvo.  We rushed him to a veterinary hospital for extensive treatments and he made a full and complete recovery!  Today is magic for him -- a day he has been awaiting for 5 weeks while he recovered.  Please help Aztec find a loving, forever home.

I am bursting with hope! Please don't let me down.

Image
Delilah is a beautiful youngster and she is enthusiastic to begin her new life with love and kindness.  She is medium-size Bully mix with rich grey & white coloring, 1 year of age, now spayed and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  Delilah adores people, but may need to be the only dog in the home.  Please give her kind guidance and basic training. At the time of rescue she was found in front of a business, tied to a post by a lamp cord, with a note saying "Take me to the shelter".

Balloons, a baby boy who triumphed over a life-threatening disease.

Image
Balloons is a comical baby boy with a colorful, uplifting personality and he triumphantly debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  He is a cute Bully mix with panda bear coloring, about 6 months of age and now neutere d.  Please give Balloons your kind guidance and direction, as well as basic training.  At the time of rescue, Balloons was in peril with the parvo virus. We rushed him into a veterinary hospital for extensive treatment and he made a full and complete recovery!  Special thanks to all of you who donate to Nevada SPCA's advanced medical care fund and made his treatment & rehab possible!

If you support animal rescue & adoption, then my smile is for you.

Image
Jason is a radiant pup with a fantastic smile and he's debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.  We believe he is a mix of American Eskimo & Cocker Spaniel.  Jason is 10 months of age, neutered boy, and great with other dogs.  Jason was found by a busy road with no responsible sign of ownership (no ID tag, no microchip ID, and not neutered). Further, he shows signs of abuse and gets very wary of some women.  But with others he is jolly and light-hearted and as happy as can be.  Please help us find Jason a kind, loving, forever home where he understands he is never in any danger.

Godiva, rescued from starvation, needs a foster home and hero.

Image
A foster home and foster hero needed please.  Godiva has wonderfully gained almost 6 pounds since this photo was taken on the day of her rescue a couple of weeks ago! She has been hospitalized since then, getting IV fluids.  Her blood tests have been encouraging, despite her diabetes.  Because of her progress and her insulin levels are now stable with twice-daily shots, the veterinarians say Godiva is now ready for a foster home to continue her recovery.  Godiva needs to safely and steadily gain an additional 15 pounds or so before she is ready for adoption.  She is an incredibly sweet Bully mix, 1 year of age, and her tail always wagged when we sat with her and comforted her, even when she was too weak to want to lift her head. If you can foster Godiva for several weeks and give her insulin shots, please visit Nevada SPCA before 4pm and ask for DJ at the front desk.
