I adore sweet people and tuna fish.

Update: Cotton Candy was adopted on October 8th!

If you are seeking a beautiful cat best in a quiet household, then please consider Cotton Candy.

She is a snow-white Persian, spayed female, about 5 years of age.

Cotton Candy has a mid-grade heart murmur and needs a calmer lifestyle routine, but this does not stop her from climbing to the highest possible points in rooms for her catnaps.

Regular brushing and grooming are essential for Persians, so please plan accordingly.

She is probably best as the only cat in the home. She may be fine with easy-going, respectful cats too though.

Like all cats, Cotton Candy needs an indoor-only home for her safety and protection.

Please visit Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms and ask for her by name. She is one of 200 rescued, spayed/neutered cats for adoption today.

Very special thanks to the compassionate people at Pet'ographique for this stunning portrait.

How could they have been so cruel to me?

Update: Larry Sugar was adopted on July 31st!

Larry Sugar
yearns to believe in people again.

But his innocence was shattered by previous owners who vacated their rental home and left him behind, recklessly trapped inside.

He was found a week later, traumatized and hungry.

Larry Sugar understandably must have his trust earned from now on, and he is beginning to make progress with staff and volunteers.

In a stable, gentle, adult-only home, ideally with other dogs for guidance and reassurance, he will continue to rebound and relax.

Larry Sugar is a Chihuahua & Dachshund mix, neutered male, 2 years young. He debuts for adoption today.

I am learning that people can be kind.

When this beautiful Angora mix bunny, Savannah, first arrived, our staff and volunteers could not touch her.

She was clearly not used to much human contact and wanted nothing to do with people.

But Savannah is warming up beautifully. The daily greens and veggie salads may have helped generate initial enthusiasm, and now she is making an effort to receive human touch and interaction.

Besides continuing her progress with trust and socialization, she needs regular brushing and grooming because of her luxurious Angora coat.

Savannah is spayed and about 2 years of age. Please visit and ask for her by name in our brand new 'Lovebugs' adoption room for rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and other small animals.

She is one of almost 90 rescued, spayed/neutered bunnies for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am as sweet as honey.

Update: Canela was adopted on August 3rd!

Despite her glamorous good looks, Canela is a humble, unassuming youngster.

She is very playful, loving, and friendly.

She is a gorgeous blend of Terrier & Toy breeds, spayed female, one year of age.

We rescued Canela from another shelter. No reason was given from her previous owner about why she was turned in there, but he or she did note that Canela is housetrained and fine with mature, older kids.

She also loves other sweet dogs. Please be sure to budget extra for regular professional grooming care, several times per year.

Canela debuts for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

I am indeed a kissing bandit.

Update: Casey was adopted on October 29th!

Casey is a little boy who gives big licks and kisses.

He is a Japanese Chin mix debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA. He is neutered and about 7 years of age.

We rescued Casey from another shelter that had run out of room for him.

He is affectionate, very good-natured, and easy-going.

Casey is compatible with other dogs and needs regular brushing and grooming care.

Please visit and ask for Casey by name so that you can spend some time with him on our adoption patio.

Can I snuggle with you?

Update: Tipper was adopted on July 31st!

Prettier than a painting, Tipper is a petite angel debuting for adoption today.

She gives the best hugs. Let her nestle on your neck and shoulder and she will hold on tight, feeling safe and secure.

Tipper is a Teacup Chihuahua mix with beautiful brindle coloring. She is spayed and about 2 years young.

She enjoys other gentle dogs and tender-hearted people. A quiet home is best for her.

Tipper was surrendered to us due to no fault of her own.

Show me how wonderful and kind the world can be.

Update: Tulip was adopted on August 7th!

A blossoming flower, little Tulip is beautiful inside and out.

She is a sweetheart puppy, full of love, good-natured and friendly.

Tulip is a Terrier & Toy mix, spayed female, about 9 months of age, debuting for adoption today.

Tulip needed us because her previous owner did not have (or make) enough time to care for her properly.

She enjoys other sweet dogs and needs regular brushing and grooming.

Can we look forward to safe, emotionally rich new forever homes?

These babies were born in a casino RV park and needed us when their previous owner decided he did not want them.

The Circus Puppies can be adopted separately, but please consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship.

Please be sure to carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

We both love kids, so what was the problem?

Update: Chico & Sissy were adopted on August 24th!

Adopt Chico & Sissy and welcome two petite angels into your life forever.

They are playful, animated, often silly youngsters, full of love.

Chico & Sissy are brother and sister, and soul-mates, and need to remain together throughout their lives.

They are very cute, small Terrier mixes, spayed/neutered, and about 3 years of age.

Chico & Sissy are reportedly compatible with kind children of all ages. However, their previous owner surrendered them to us when she became pregnant (and no further reason was given for their rejection).

Please note they are reportedly escape artists, so a very secure home and yard is essential for their safety and protection.

We hope you visit and spend time with Chico & Sissy on our adoption patio. They are anxious to begin their new lives with a committed, caring family.

We are beaming rays of sunshine.

Update: Bailey & Brutus were adopted on August 27th!

have contagious joy and enthusiasm.

They are strongly bonded, fun and goofy, energetic little soul-mates.

Bailey & Brutus needed us because their previous owner thought the family traveled too much to care for them properly.

They are reportedly housetrained (with a doggie door), crate-trained, and compatible with kind children.

Bailey & Brutus debut for adoption today.

I need you to love me and cherish me.

Update: Tubby was adopted on July 31st!

Tubby's
big, expressive eyes are surely a window to his gentle soul.

He is a sensitive youngster who will do best in a quiet, mellow home with a stable lifestyle routine.

Tubby needed us when his previous owner said the "pets getting kicked out," yet did not give us a reason why.

As most followers of this site already know, the vast majority of animals in rescue programs and shelters are at no fault when they become homeless.

Tubby is good with other mellow dogs and he is reportedly fine with cats too.

He is reportedly "mostly" housetrained, so your patience and direction may be needed to complete housetraining.

Tubby debuts for adoption today. Please visit and ask for this sweetheart by name.

Please do not let me lose another home again.

Update: Cricket was adopted on July 30th!

Cricket
needed us due to her previous owners' financial collapse.

She is a lovable, gorgeous, shy girl who enjoys attention and adoration.

Cricket is a Bichon Frise (perhaps a mix), spayed, approximately 4 years of age.

She is compatible with other sweet dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.

Please note that while she is housetrained, she is used to pee pads, so she may need your patience and good guidance to begin using the backyard and/or walks.

Cricket loves playing with a squeaky, ice cream cone-shaped toy.

Cricket debuts for adoption today.

Sassie is most likely a Norfolk Terrier & Toy mix. She is spayed, about 2 years of age, and debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

We rescued Sassie from another shelter and little is known about her background. She had apparently been abandoned in a park.

But we can see that she loves people and other sweet dogs. Please plan for regular grooming care and budget accordingly.

Thank you for rescuing me.

When Arnie ran out of time at another shelter, we rescued him and brought him into the safety of Nevada SPCA.

He is a spunky, fun-loving, cute boy, ready to share a lifetime of entertainment with you.

Arnie is a Miniature Schnauzer, neutered, 3 years young, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

Arnie enjoys other playful dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.

Miniature Schnauzer knowledge and/or experience is preferred for his adoption.

I did not do anything wrong.

Update: Lucy was adopted on July 27th!

Like the vast majority of animals in rescue organizations and shelters, Lucy lost her home out of no fault of her own.

In Lucy's case, someone in her previous home was allergic to her.

She is a beautiful baby girl, friendly and outgoing and curious about the world.

Lucy is a chocolate, tan, and white Beagle puppy, spayed, approximately 6 months of age.

She is reportedly compatible with dogs and mature children, and she needs your patience and good guidance to complete housetraining.

Update: Amherst was adopted on December 4th!

Amherst loves to have his ears rubbed.

He is an inquisitive, friendly young bunny with a whimsical personality.

Amherst is a Mini Rex rabbit, neutered male, about one year of age.

He needed us when his previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure. The people the family was moving in with eat bunnies, so he came to us for sanctuary.

I humbly ask you to give me a lifetime commitment to join your loving home.

While he sometimes gets a bit bossy and has a spirited personality, this playful youngster is chock full of unconditional love and devotion.

Naldo is a Chihuahua, neutered male, one year of age, debuting for adoption today at Nevada SPCA.

We do not have much background information on him. We rescued him from another shelter. But we do know he likes most dogs, picky perhaps though with which others he accepts.

Please visit and ask to spend time with Naldo on our adoption patio.

Please help me build self-esteem.

Update: Jay was adopted on August 12th!

Jay
is a very attractive youngster with enormous loving potential.

He needs more socialization. New people and new places can terrify him.

In an experienced, adult-only home he can gather confidence and see the world as a kinder, more inviting place.

We rescued Jay from another shelter. He is a Rat Terrier, neutered male, just a year of age.

He is good with other dogs and he is reportedly housetrained.

Jay will do best in a quiet, stable lifestyle routine. He debuts for adoption at Nevada SPCA today.

My favorite game is a variation on traditional fetching.

Update: Chewy was adopted on July 28th!

Playing regular fetch may be fine for most dogs.

But Chewy vastly prefers retrieving the ball and then refuses to give it back to you. So it's more like "retrieve & chase me".

He is a happy, darling little guy, generally very well-behaved.

Chewy is a handsome Lhasa Apso, neutered, approximately 4-5 years of age.

We rescued him from another shelter.

Chewy is compatible with other dogs, except around food or treats when his food aggression may kick in. Please be sure to feed him separately from the other dog(s) in the home. Food aggression can diminish with time and with good behavioral guidance from you.

Please also plan on regular professional grooming care and budget extra accordingly.

Chewy debuts for adoption today.

If you seek love and devotion, your search can end with me.

Update: Abby was adopted on July 31st!

Abby's
angelic nature reveals itself not just in her behaviors, but in her eyes and smiles too.

She is a super sweet, friendly, and endearing young girl.

Abby is a gorgeous Belgian Shepherd mix, spayed, just under 2 years of age.

She needed us when her previous owner lost the family home to foreclosure.

Abby is compatible with dogs and kind children, and housetrained and crate-trained too. But she plays too rough with cats to be around them.

Please visit and ask to spend time with Abby in our courtyard today.

We nicknamed them "The Cactus Crew Puppies". They are now spayed/neutered, 3 months of age, and debuting for adoption today.

Pictured here are sisters Sequoia & Agave. You can see their sister Ocotillo and brothers Barrel, Joshua, and Yucca on Nevada SPCA's main web site at www.nevadaspca.org.

It is too soon to make a strong guess on their breed make-ups. But we suspect they may have Beagle and Corgi in them, perhaps growing to just medium size.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

We hope you will consider adopting a pair for lifelong love and companionship, but they can certainly be adopted separately.

I am anxious to experience true love.

At the time of rescue Charlie was so filthy and matted we had no choice but to shave down his coat.

Please carefully puppy-proof your home and yard for their safety and protection.

These babies needed us when their previous owners said they "don't want them".

Update: Louise was adopted on August 28th!

Louise

She is spayed, about 4 years of age, and good with other friendly dogs.

Nahla
yearns to believe in people again.

The monsters who had her before failed to understand what a brilliant little treasure she is.

Recovering from abuse will take plenty of time and patience in an experienced, adult-only home with a stable lifestyle routine.

We rescued Nahla from another shelter on the last possible day prior to euthanasia.

Nahla has a heart of gold, but she is wary to let down her emotional walls out of fear she will be struck or screamed at again.

She is a Pomeranian, spayed female, about 6 years of age.

Nahla enjoys other dogs and may do best with another dog in the home. She also needs regular brushing and grooming.

Bentley
is an enthusiastic youngster, friendly and chatty, and in need of a lot of your attention.

He is a Yorkshire Terrier, neutered male, about 2 years of age.

He enjoys other playful dogs and needs regular professional grooming care.

Earn my love and I will bless you with enormous affection.

Slyder is a graceful girl awaiting a forever home today in Nevada SPCA's free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms.

She was reportedly named based on the way she glides when she walks by walls and furniture.

Slyder is now very friendly (with both people and cats) and quite the cuddlebug.

He is a Jack Russell Terrier mix with striking tri-coloring. He is neutered and about 3 years of age.

Tito Joe is full of tremendous charm.

He is a handsome boy with a merry, jovial nature.

Diamond is a chocolate & white Bully mix with hazel eyes, spayed female, 10 months of age.

She is "90%" housetrained, 100% crate-trained, and reportedly compatible with other dogs and kind children.

Surely Diamond can challenge the thinking of those who fear the Bully breeds. She is only dangerous if you don't like getting licked on the face.

Also, Diamond is reportedly afraid of her water bowl, so it is important to be creative to ensure she has plenty of access to fresh water. (Please be willing to try a range of different bowl types at various places in your home.)

Diamond debuts for adoption today.

Will you help me feel safe, please?
