Update 3: Karina was adopted on December 23rd!

Update 2: Baxter was adopted on December 22nd!

Update: Betty Lou was adopted on December 6th!

Loving care is healing these three angels.

They debut for adoption today, separately, as each is from a different background.  But each is overcoming human cruelty, and survived to get this opportunity to see the kinder side of people, hopefully in forever homes.  Their progress needs to continue with their new owners.

Betty Lou is a Miniature Poodle with a sensitive, reserved nature.  At the time of rescue, one of her eyes was swollen shut with infection, her neck was injured, she was very underweight, and her white coat was a mass of filthy brown tangles and knots.  Now shaved down, well from infection, and more, she is unrecognizable from how she previously looked and felt.  She is spayed and about 3 years of age.

Karina was in an even worse state of starvation at the time of her rescue.  Found near a gas station, dodging cars, you could see her whole spine on her back and her eyes had the glazed-over look that develops when hope is gone.  Her eyes are still sad now, but they reveal a sweet girl who is willing to give humans another chance.  She is a Cocker Spaniel mix, spayed, about 6 years of age.

Baxter is a tender-hearted Lhasa Apso mix we rescued from another shelter that had run out of space to keep him.  He appeared to never have been groomed or loved, a forgotten and thrown away dog, out on the mean streets by himself.  Now he is super cute and an affectionate, spunky personality is emerging.

All three -- Betty Lou, Karina, and Baxter -- are compatible with other dogs and need regular professional grooming care.

Please visit and ask for them by name.  Help them continue to awaken to the realization that humans can be tremendously kind and nurturing.
