My sense of security was cut off right along with my claws.

Declawing often creates this terrible cycle.

Cats are painfully maimed by the declawing surgery, which many people compare to the equivalent of cutting off fingers or fingertips.

Then, when behaviors develop in the aftermath, sometimes skipping the litter box or becoming nippy, they get thrown out of their homes and families.

Beautiful Dori is a victim of this cycle, using her mouth and teeth more when nervous and fearful since she no longer has nature's greatest natural protection for her -- her claws.

Dori should never had been declawed. And while we are encouraged that more veterinarians are opting against this painful procedure, countless cats will continue to be maimed and discarded until it is abandoned completely.

Dori is a Tortoiseshell (& white) with stunning color patterns. She is spayed and about 3 years of age. (Both of her front paws are declawed.)

She will do best in a patient, adult-only home. She is very sweet and her personality can bloom again once she feels secure and safe, strictly indoors only.

Please ask for Dori by name in the free-roaming Cat Condo playrooms at Nevada SPCA.
